  1. That'll work, thanks for the effort in making the kit Earl, I know there will be some very grateful folks for this
  2. I expect nothing less from you Phil, good to see your face on here
  3. Nothing better than putting some wind in your face, sounds like you had a good time
  4. To all you "Mothers" (Female or Male) out there in Ventureland, Happy Mothers Day
  5. Yeah thats a good idea too, didn't think of that one
  6. I'll try to remind you Thursday night when we get there
  7. Glad your back with us Fred, can't help you with the parts, but sure am glad that your here again
  8. If you bought that bike for $300 you scored big time
  9. Thats why were here
  10. Earl, Thats not a giveaway as they used the same casing on many of that era Yamahas. The only was I know of is to look at the gears inside the pig. If the ring gear is a 9 tooth then it's a Vmax if it's a 10 tooth it's a Venture. If I'm wrong with that statement you will have answers quickly to dispute my statements
  11. Old Hippie just ordered one from Buckeye Performance and I installed it in his '92. Give Rick a shout and he'll make it happen.
  12. Sorry to hear of your mishap buddy get yourself healed up good and proper. I'll bet you some of that good ole cajun food your fabulous wife makes would speed up the healing time....or atleast make your stomach feel better
  13. Earl, There is a phillips head screw on the inside of the grill, remove the screw and the grill will pull out and to the outside to come off. Just take your time doing it as there are 2 tabs on the inside portion that hold it into the fairing and then the screw holds the outside.
  14. There is a precise measurement for the floats and yes these carbs are a PITA, I did Dave Pankows over the winter There is a mark in the center of the diaphram cover that you need to measure down between 14 to 16MM for the correct float level (It's in the repair manual) Making sure all the diaphrams are good and all your pilot screws are all turned out the same. I'm no carb expert but I know others will chime in and confuse the crap out of you like they did me
  15. Tim, No that isn't the box, I bought mine at the time at Tractor Supply Co. but they dont make the same kind now. I can't find a box that is symetrically shaped, they all have notches in the lid to butt up against the back on the truck or angles down on the front. I have spend LOTS of hours on the internet trying to find that box that I used to no avail. If I do find a source with a reasonable price I will post it up on the site in the trailer talk section. Seems anymore mfgr's can't leave well enough alone BTW...the trailer didn't weigh much at all, less than 200 lbs.
  16. I have lost a little "size" but not that much weight, doesn't really matter as monies will be collect one way or another. Good job to you Tom keep it up
  17. This is what I always do also, I hate to say it but I do it in the car while I'm in some ugly spots in Detroit. I wont allow myself to be boxed in and have no means of escape, especially on the bike.
  18. I remember that, that was a good time
  19. Jopie, I too have gone through a few of them and none are any easier than the others. It's amazing how a furry animal can wrap your heart around it's paw and never let you go. Sending as much good carma your way in the loss of both of your pooch.
  20. I too am sorry to hear of you having to get rid of the bike. I hope your health issues can be addressed quickly and you get back in the saddle, even with a trike if need be. Best of luck in your journey and by all means dont be a stranger.
  21. Doesn't that give you a warm fuzzy Chief and you thought you didn't have friends. You probably dont realize that all the folks that emiled you are...STALKERS
  22. Kirk.... You certainly have a way of weaving a tail
  23. We went in '07 and there was a lot of bikes, it was pretty cool to walk around and see some of the vintage iron that showed up. I'm not sure if we'll be going, but it's a pretty decent blessing
  24. Gunny, A tidbit here in that the bottom center bolt on the middle gear cover has a copper crush washer. Just remember to put that one back in the right hole or it will leak there also
