HA! Isn't that fun, I love doing it to the Camaros and such. You should see the looks on their faces when they can't get around me
-
Not at all, I have seen your bike personally and it's a one of a kind. You did a fantastic job of redoing the paint and to me that makes your bike worth more money than a standard midnight

It's stuck now....kinda like we are with you -
I'm still in the process of sending out all the PM's to let folks know the damage I can tell you that monies I have on hand it's over $300...so I'll take that anytime we can get it As soon as I have the total I will post it up on the site and we'll figure out where to keep the money. I'll probably start up another savings account just for the St. Judes monies to keep it strait unless you want me to send it all to you

Lewis, Tom said it perfectly, it was YOU that 1st thought of this as far as adopting St. Judes. I know you work tirelessly to keep us all aware of St. Judes and we are very proud of you. I am but a grunt for this cause, your the commander and I'm happy and proud to be able to help you with this cause. I'm glad you like your hat, it's sent with lots of love, even if it took you 7 months to get it Thanks for all you do my friend, you are one of the biggest reasons that this place is what it is

The cat isn't going to hurt your flow, dont worry about it, just use it. The pipes are pretty much side specific, you wont be able to install the opposite side on as no mounting holes will be present. If your going to remove the baffle plates I suggest that you drill 1/4" holes in them instaed of cutting them out with a hole saw. Law enforcement in some areas are giving tickets for modification of mufflers by sticking night sticks in the rear of the pipes. If it goes in without hitting that plate, your getting a ticket. With the 1/4" holes it will still leave enough web in there to stop anything shoved in it.

I think a lot of us get that itch, but once we ride a different machine we realise how nice our bikes are. I myself sold my '08 due to financial reasons, I now have an '89 VR that I still have to pick up. That being said when I get back in a good enough financial state to get something newer I am going to shop around and try some different things. One will be a Honda Valkyrie Interstate, so go out and shop around, take some for rides, but you might find your RSV for all it's shortcomings will be the one you really love

It's sad that it's an all of a sudden thing, I know other here that it happens just like that and I know they are good with their maintenance on the tires. I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts on the Kenda's. We'll have to work on getting hooked up again, good seeing you at MD

Well folks I finally got a bit of time to figure out the weight loss total....we didn't do so good But on that note, we did raise a good amount of money for St. Judes with our "Overage Costs" We totally lost 141 lbs, so if we can get those who pledged to donate to figure their total out (I'll PM you all) we can get a total on our latest escapade. Thank you all again for your efforts and for the donations

Dragon Slayer, I couldn't agree more with your explanation of parting out a bike. Ebay is good for some things and sucks for a lot of the other stuff. My deal with Paypal is it's a necesary evil, and they were the ones to come on and make it where you can't list another payment option. I have asked sellers if they would accept other payments ie; Postal Money orders. I dont have hundreds of dollars in my paypal account, so I dont always like to use it. My biggest hardon is someone telling me what to do and how to do it. Ebay is a phenom that some folks can't live without, it's like crack to them. Their fees have gone nuts at times and all I see is a lot of greed there (I wont even jump off that bridge here) It is just too convienent that ebay owns paypal and now this is all they want you to use....I have certain words for folks that play that way that I wont say here on the site

Good thing you caught it Carl...I have said it before and will till I die. The 880 Metzler on a Venture is JUNK! Period. After all that folks have read on this forum they still buy these crap tires (Thats not directly aimed at you Carl) But here's the good news, you dont have to bother calling Metzler, I'll tell you right now what they will say.....you didn't have it properly inflated (Yes that is said with lots of sarcasm) Glad you got it off your bike Carl....what did you put on it?

05 Venture Running way too lean.
Squidley replied to kd4uvc's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Jetting is good, but if you want to be able to use that power you have to get more air to it and get it out faster. Restriction is the biggest culprit, the bike may run better but a different exhaust to clear the cylinder faster is a good place to look at. -
Good on her, nice looking bike and I'm sure she'll get lots of enjoyment out of it

Gerry, I built mine out of a boat trailer that I purchased for $75. Granted I modified it myself, but it's solid. It's 9 1/2' long and 4 ' wide and pulls like a dream, I have about $600 into it and it fits either 1st or 2nd gens with no problems. This is the one that I had at Skid's last year with the '86 on it.

Tightening the steering Head attempt
Squidley replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I use an 1 1/16" Bonney wrench to break the nut on top and then a drift punch on the dual jam nuts under the cover. I have done several like this with no problems, I haven't had to pull the bars off to do it as the Bonney's offset head will allow me access. -
I'll play devils advocate here and say that I am not using ebay no where's near as much. When they come out and say that the only payment method is Paypal (which they own) they can go to hell. I know there are lots of others that feel just like I do so be careful with using ebay as I dont think the market on their is super good right now

Good to see your 6 month check up here Brandi, drag about the knee. I do hope that it all works out for you. Try not to be a such a stranger and take care of those legs when you get a chance....this aging does suck!

Considering buying a 1300 Venture
Squidley replied to Craig Gulley's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
The motors are pretty much bulletproof, so no worries theren 200K is not uncommon with good maintenance. Pricewise, I think you did just fine, not necessicarily a screaming deal but a pretty good one, with all that you have mentioned. Enjoy the new ride and try to get hook up with some local members at a meet and eat
