  1. Jim, I believe that it will pretty much be the east side of Tennessee or the Houston area. Lonna's mom and twin sisters are there and I do like how the governor of Texas seems to think. Bottom lineis this...MONEY, I only work because I need it to survive like the rest of us. I will go where the best opportunity is, but I do absolutely appreciate your thinking of us my friend Thanks for the words of encouragement Pat, you never know what life is going to hand out to you. So who knows where we'll show up to live...it's all good Boomer, I would probably say a powerhouse, I'm not confident that I would make a good serviceman as I would need more training. I liked working in the powerhouse as it was always different and thaty kept me challenged. Thank you also for thinking of us John, Were not planning on running away immediately, a few months at best unless the job of a lifetime comes through. We'll do another M&E, peobably wont be till mid August, but we'll do one....no sweat PS and there will be ice cream involved
  2. Lewis, Thanks for all your work brother, as always your unselfishness never ceases to amaze me my friend Bravo Zulu
  3. Yeah....that be the one
  4. Let me see what I have...we have tons of pics from all the M&E's, give me a few days as I'm taking care of all this paperwork for the unemployment
  5. Steve, I'm sorry to hear about your joining the crowd....it seems to be the norm these days. I know I'm no slouch and I WILL find work, you also are very talented and you too will find work. I'm just tired of how Michigan is run and I want to ride all year Best of luck to you brother, Irene and yourself will too rebound from this, like it's been said here live is an AdVenture....so onward we go my friend
  6. Are these the ones BTW....that was '05
  7. I just put a set on the '89 I just purchased, I can say 1 thing, they dont balance very well. As a former tire guy this is not a good sign to the engineering of the tire. I moved the front tire around on the rim 3 times and couldn't get it to balance with less than 80 grams of weight, all the Avons I installed balanced with less than a 1/4 of that. I bought them also be cause they were cheap and Ndiaz said he liked how they felt....we'll see I bought them from the same place as you are
  8. Why the hell would anyone want a Metzler?
  9. Glad to see you folks enjoyed yourselves...it's good to get out with a few buddies
  10. Rick, My # is in my profile, give a call when you get up to Michigan, would love to hook up with you. Were about 90 miles from Brighton and could shoot over there
  11. Unreal.... Without getting all melancholy (but I fear I will), I just sit here and read all of these responces and think. I think of how many seeds I have sown, purely unintentional by just treating folks how I want to be treated, and how all of you folks, once again, reaffirm my faith in the human race. I have recieved a dozen PM's, half a dozen phone calls, and the well wishes from all my brothers and sisters here. I am humbled by all of you, and can't express how much this means to myself and Lonna. I refuse to let this get me down, many of you that have met me know that I dont dwell on things and I will stay positive as my wife needs that support. I'm sure that I'll have my down days, but my bike just got it's new tires on and soon enough I will get some cycle therapy in. Thank you all for taking the time to post up all the info that you have thrown at me, my head is still spinning More to come on this "Most excellent adventure"
  12. Hey Ladies and Gents, The title is a little misleading, but it sums up what's gonna happen. Today I got the axe from work, as well as about 20 others. Kinda surreal right now, but I'm not wasting any time. This is an opportunity to get out of the huge suck hole called Michigan and move somewhere else. If I can impose on you members, and ask for your help in networking myself, this would put Lonna's mind at ease. I am a powerhouse mechanic and a certified arc welder. We are looking to head either to the Houston Texas area or the Knoxville/Chattanooga Tennessee area. If anyone knows or hears of work in these areas, please shoot me a PM. As always in life, another hurtle and I believe that God is smacking me upside the head for a reason.....and I believe that reason is to get out of Michigan. All the best and hang on for this trip, it should be a good one to listen to
  13. Lewis, Check with Owl on the OPE fund and see if we have some monies to play with. This could help defray the cost to you and you pay it back once the shirts are purchasedf by their new owners.
  14. Looks Good Art Can't wait to see it in person with you and Momma on it, we'll do that soon
  15. Wayne, I'd like to see all the variations for the 1st gen. I have never seen the backrest pad that I have on any other Venture and would like to see how it's attached to actual support. I'll try to get some pics of what I have on so folks will understand what I am looking at. Jeff, If you have an extra set where they hook onto the side then I would love them. The mounts that Russ was able to get are off a Goldwing I'm sure. I'll get some pics of the items I have on the post here tonight
  16. Hello 1st genners, I need a favor from you folks. Russ in Lowpoint Illinois was good enough to pick me up a backrest for my '89 Venture. The pad is definitely venture with the large V on it, but I fear the mounting brackets are for a Goldwing. Could some of you folks take pics of your backrests so I can see how they mount and how the backrest attaches to the support bar....much appreciated
  17. I like the name change....but I DONT buy the G2 in your garage being yours
  18. Rest it for a few days Dick, dont push it my friend
  19. I saw that you called and listened to the message and it was cut short, perhaps my phone didn't want to hear your babbling Actually I was helping out one of your countrymen, from Barrie, got him rolling along nicely. I do hope that you can get down here at some point, or we'll try to make it up there.
  20. You folks have done a fantastic job! You are going to enjoy yourselves and have the time of your lives, I only wish that Lonna and I could be there with you all. Take lots of pics and try not to micro manage it, let it flow and it will ride down the road with no worries
  21. We wants to see pics there young lady
  22. Dave, I know there is, but I have never had to access it, let me get the info and I'll post it up
  23. Hate to say it....but thats his spitoon
  24. Harry, 1st off enjoy that trip! Lonna and I did a similar one that took us 9315 miles in 28 days. I wish I could do a ride like that every year. Here is the link to the VR assistance page, you'll have to print it out and keep it in your bike unless you have a laptop with you. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/memberlist.php?&field12=2&order=asc&sort=location&pp=30&page=1 Be safe and have a great time
