  1. I am Soooooooo:bawling: jealous!!! Especially since you have the Autobahn to play on...
  2. At the risk of stepping in "it" or stepping on toes, I had a co-worker make the comment the other day, of; "Folks say buy "American" to save our auto industry, but I think I'd rather buy a "foreign" car made in Tennessee, Mississippi or Alabama then an "American" car made in Mexico or Canada! (sorry not throwing rock at the friends in Canada!!!)
  3. The TV program MythBusters did a segment on this. Yes it is scary. Kinda along this same line, there was a lady here in Jackson killed in her cage by a Bush Hog blade that came off of a road maintenance tractor mower. She was driving along minding here own business when it came through her windshield and hit her in the throat. So get away from the mowers on the road as quickly as you can too.
  4. Does it count if it came with the bike? I noticed mine after I got the bike home and have wondered what it is all about, but didn't know who to ask. So, just what is the story here? It looks like brass and is tied on with a leather string.
  5. I think you will like the Voyager kit. I have one on my Burgman. You may already know this, but always keep the bike tires on the high points on the road. If you don't you can find your rear wheel "high centered" and you will be stuck. Case in point; the exit road from a local truck stop, where I buy most of my gas, has ruts in the asphalt caused by the 18 wheeler traffic. If I get the bike tires in the ruts, which are really not THAT deep, and the trike tires on the high sides, then it is "get off and push time". Otherwise have fun!!! Oh, learn to pick your parking spots!!!
  6. Amen, :think:wrong generation...
  7. In looking for Venom tire prices, I find that they are offered in both Bias ply and Radial ply. I would never consider putting anything other than radials on any of my cages. So would I not be better off going radial on my bike too? I guess my dumb question for the day:innocent: is what are the advantages and disadvantages of radial vs bias on a scoot? I also wonder if some of the differences I read about, here, in mileages are comparing apples to tennis balls, ie radials to bias.
  8. Amen, I've only been a part of this :178:for a short time, but from what I can tell, if folks are not picking on you:stickpoke: occasionally:buttkick:, that's when you know you are in trouble:yikes: Walter
  9. :178:I think YamaDuck has the right Idea. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34509 This way there are no expenses:mo money: to pay and it all goes where it belongs!
  10. Sounds like you have made it passed the "I'm afraid I'm gonna live" stage!
  11. Candidate for the Darwin Award...
  12. I don't try to 'splain it:scared:, just report it!!!
  13. "Sighted" a V-Star for sale, yesterday. Except for the exhaust:stickpoke:, not a bad looking bike.

    83 wow

Not sure if my '98 TC qualifies as a 2nd Gen:scratchchin:, but it too runs up to 95+ in 3rd :stickpoke:rather quickly:innocent:. I have to admit it won't lift the front wheel, but it will get loose in 1st...
  16. :2cents:A word of CAUTION here!!! Don't let that "operating temp" oil run on your hand:sign07:, it WILL burn you!!!
  17. I've run into that before. Check to be sure there is a proper ground:stickpoke:. Most folks rely on the hitch ball as a ground. Sometimes it works most times it doesn't. Run a seperate wire, through the plug and hook it to a lug on the trailer frame.
  18. Amen!!! Welcome back!!!
  19. Tried it tonight. doesn't recognize me anymore. Tried to change the whimzical name but that didn't seem to work :stickpoke:either...
  20. Masking(painter's) tape was included the "everything else" category. Guess the adhesive was not as strong as good ole duct tape. Now, where's that bottle of Novus...
  21. This falls in the category of "you ain't gonna believe this s--t!" After trying everything else, in cluding rubbing compound and a power buffer, I was gonna cut down the "other" windshield, so I could just look over it. Put some duct tape on it to mark it and keep it from splintering when I attacked it with my sabre saw. Well I had a wrinkle in it so I pulled the tape off to straighten it out and GUESS WHAT? It wouldn't stick back. I pulled the tape off and WOW clean clear plastic!!! The coating came off with the tape!!! Wish I had tried this to start with...
  22. I think the saddle bag bars come stock from Yammie. At least all the bikes, i've seen, like ours already have them have them. If they are not on yours, I think the lindsay ones come as a "set" which includes the rear bars. I gotta say though, they look "pricey"!
  23. I bought Barrons from Cruiser Customizing (CruiserCustomizing.com). They were about $190.00 including shipping. The part # is BA-7100-00. Went right on, yeah Right!!! In the instructions they mention that due to manufacturing tollerences you may need to (I forget the exact wording) push, pull, bend and/or :scorched:adjust them. They weren't kidding. But once they are on they look kinda nice... :sign brain fart:Oh, something I almost forgot, don't count on your local stealership to have the recommended bottom bolts. I had to go to the local Ace Hardware store. If my feeble brain serves me right you need M6x1.25 thread bolts. I got the grade 8 flanged ones that were long enough to go through so I could put jam nuts on the back side.
  24. Yup, that's where it is, behind the engine, kinda between the driver and passenger floorboards on the right side. Thanks!!!
  25. Wonder if it will fit in the original location on an RSTC?
