  1. We had a GA ride planned for Sat. that has been re-scheduled. We are waiting on a new tire to arrive hopefully by Fri. so can get it on. If so, we would like to meet up with you all. Eck, You have a number's so give us a call.... Mike & Denise
  2. Never asked about alternative tires but commented on how some are getting the high mileage out of them ( I can't ). I know the answer riding style, a friend has the elite 3's on his and has around 10,000 miles and not half worn. Thanks for all the responses.
  3. Yes always ride the Triangle the same way mostly right handers. What would I be looking for in a problem. The bike still handle's great ( not at the moment ). The tires are just worn out mileage was not as expected on my part from them. I spend more time leaning in the curves than riding straight line and more right hand curves than left.
  4. You can ride with no hands on the bars no problems, no shimmy or shake.
  5. I'm not sure how to answer all the questions but here goes. Bike history bought it with 803 miles on it. The guy had knee trouble and could no longer hold it up. He bought a Goldwing trike and parked this one. I usually kill a set of tires a year on every bike I've had and some several rear tires. I live in East,TN and within 5 minutes of " Devil's Triangle " hwy 116, about a hour from Deals Gap aka the " Dragon " hwy 129, and the " Moonshiner " hwy 28 along with several multiples of others and run some combination of these every week. I ride aggressive. Nothing wrong with the bike that's been found. The stock Dunlops's made it around 4,500 miles. I put a set of Metzeler"s Me 880s in '09 ran them 12,000 miles no issues down to the wear bar front and rear very even wear. Heard all the rage about the new elite 3 put them on I haven't liked them since day one but thought if they would wear for more miles I would learn to like them. I normally don't run my tires this long but the last several miles have been local ( still no excuse ). The tire pressure has been at 41 front 40 rear the whole time. Front is down in the wear bars. I do ride a lot of right hand corners, the remaining tread of the left side of tire is around .015 on the calipers. The bike currently has 23912 miles.
  6. Here is a few pictures of my rear elite 3 at only 7400 miles, front is down in the wear bars. I won't be going back with these any time soon I'm not sure how you guy's are getting better mileage. Bike 90% ridden two up, tire pressure checked before every ride. 8. 1Rooster, Just wanted to Thank You for stopping @ the campground office to chat with us last Sat. when we arrived @ the campground & there weren't any bikes to be found, and you let us know that they were out on a ride. We hate it that we didn't get to see any of our group but we did have a great lunch @ Ole Guacamole and a beautiful ride across the BRP on the way home. Maybe next year we can spend a night or two with all of you. Stroker-Mike & Denise PS-BlackJack, You were right that was the best Shrimp & Fish taco's that I ever had but then again they were my 1st ones too......
  9. RandyA, We've been trying to get some info on this get together. If your eating lunch sometime and where Saturday 14th and is there a ride planned for Saturday. I will be bringing around 12 bikes with us to meet and eat so some details would be helpful if any out there. Thanks

  14. Will be on it in the morning, so glad that it is back open. Deal's Gap is a great place for lunch & having to go the long around to all of our other destinations has took a lot of time... There are a ton of fun roads all around it with great places to eat also, if you ever have any questions about any of it please give us a shout...
  15. Rotella T6 and a 7317 filter every 5000 miles.
  16. Here you go all the info. http://www.bosshoss.com/products.asp
  17. We would love to meet up with you for a ride also...
  18. I guess if I knew I was going to get a touring bike in a few years and I had a place to store what I bought. I would go ahead and buy the RSV, that way you would already have it and could start with all the add on stuff. You wouldn't be putting on a lot of miles and would be ready to roll when the time came. Nothing wrong with the TD but I look at having to start over on another bike.

  20. The way I read it is he only has .001 - .002 wear from a new clutch plate ( disc ), so .008 - .016 possible of wear on the clutch plates ( discs ). The issue with the kits Skydoc 17 was with the clutch spring itself was thin and not applying enough pressure to the clutch plates ( discs ). my take on it anyway
  21. We had the same bike description here a couple weeks ago on craigs list. He was out on the oil spill and was glad to ship.
  22. Motorcycle Super Store Front 3508, Rear 5009 tread feathering on rear with around 2200 miles.
  23. The difference is: YOU CAN RIDE FOREVER AND YOUR BUTT DON'T GET TIRED OR SORE.... My wonderful husband had my backrest done too, now I'm really spoiled. However it will make you forget what others are talking about when they are over it after a few hours...
  24. I have also installed your clutch kit ( doubled spring ). I have no issues with the way it is, if it poses no problem I'll leave it alone. Glad to hear they came through with the fix.
