  1. I have used engine ice, seems to work as well as water wetter and anti-freeze. It's good to down to 30 below but at $40 or more a gallon it's not for me. The $10 a bottle water wetter does the same thing except you and your animals can not drink it safely. It drops engine temps. somewhere around 10-15 degrees from my experience.
  2. Dupli-Color RF129 - Dupli-Color Rust Fix You can put a straw from a can of brake cleaner or what ever to reach in those places where there's not a hole. It works decent and usually around $10 a can. I'm sure there is others out there but that's what I've used.
  3. 7 years and counting on this second gen. with the last 5 years with K&N's no change in fuel consumption no mods necessary. I personally have never had to change anything when using a K&N and have one on all my vehicles and motorcycles.
  4. Having a hard time with this, been running them 30+ years and I have never lost gas mileage. I'm not saying I gained either, I mainly run because of the clean and reuse benefit. My

  6. Is the decompression valve open or closed when doing the compression check. If it's closed and only getting the 25psi it won't run. If carb. is sealed good to the head it's probably the ring or rings ( possible one or two on the piston ).
  7. Yeah, I know I can edit but dang some of the stories that can get told. I was thinking more like a scuba tank with this crowd. You got pygmies and craw fish and then the love bugs just don't know how I can compete even though I did break my windshield clean off hitting a hawk on one of these east TN back roads. There is hope
  8. Dang, didn't know I needed to tell stories or coat things so to speak guess I'll have regroup.
  9. Yes double male I forget the size. I've had good luck with the radio shack brand.
  10. Older truck parts around here go for $40-$75 per panel ( door, fender, hood etc. ) In my opinion somewhere in the $300-$500 for the whole truck if I was wanting to get rid of it.
  11. The wife and I usually knock down around 20,000 to 25,000 miles a year. I would love to try one with a vent for the summer months. We ride year round ( rode 500 miles just for new years ). It's getting time for a new windshield and wouldn't have a problem trying a new one out and letting know how it works out.
  12. I seen these on Motorcycle Super Store. I guess I will be giving one a try sometime this spring, will have to finish the old one off first.

  17. Brian, 281 is paved all the way, Explorer Road ( cuts across between 281 and 215 ) used to have a dirt stretch but not sure if it still does. We run 28 to 64 in Franklin toward Highlands and turn left at Walnut creek and go over to Pine creek across the dam to 107 a few time a year also. We really like riding over there. I know the area your talking about, we"ll have to get together and ride one of these days.
  18. Hwy 28 from Deals to Fontana is nick named Hellbender and from 64/74 down to Franklin is Moonshiner. If you get the chance ride hwy 107 out of Sylva,NC down to Tuckasegee, NC then down hwy 281 to hwy 64 to Brevard, NC then hwy 276 to the Blue Ridge or all the way to Waynesville, NC. Loop we do often my
  19. Looks like you got it.. FA 179 X 2 FA 123 X 1 need the HH for the sintered pads though.
  20. Give us a yell if you want to get a bite to eat when you get to K-town Sunday.
  21. Yes the noise is part of the sintered brake pads from my experience, even more noticeable when on the front. The rear locks up regardless of the type of pad you have, I run the HH pads because they last a lot longer on the rear. It's kind of like oil and tires everyone has one they like/think is better. My
