  4. Id go back to the day my dad passed ..............and I wouldnt have left when I did.....my girl friends( ex-wife) and her mom and my mom talked me into leaving dads room to go get some rest. I didnt even make it home before a massive heart attack took him away. I had been there 47 hrs straight with no sleep. And sometimes I cant forgive myself for not being there.............so yeah even though Id know it was going to happen Id at least be there to hold his hand say I love ya dad and be there. David
  5. Im in here...............where you be? David
  6. I just checked mine as I have had a lot of looseness and the same problem with the cruise control. I was going to do the jb wel thing so when I removed the clutch I found my problem. The clutch lever bolt was broke just at the thread and shoulder section. So now Im setting still as far as the bike goes. No clutch lever and that stinking bolt has to be orderd. $4 plus tax for one bolt and it'll take a week. Kinda sucks but I am glad I checked it in the drive. Could have been much worse . It could have happend on the road with no recorse except a regular bolt and take the cahnce of messing the clutch lever up. David
  7. prayers sent.......theres not a lot that can be said here that hasnt already been said. Stay strong for your family and your 2 wheel family will stay strong for you. David

  10. I ride when I can. Most of the time work keeps me away. BUt I am still a proud pgrmember just in a different form. Some call it prayer guard riders. I keep up as best I can with the local rides and If I cant be there in person I stop whatIm doing and send a little lnee mail. Its not much but it is something. These member of our fighting forces( past , present , and future ) and their families deserve more than we will ever be able to repay. I joined late one night when I was on the computer because my own chilkdren were on my mind. They past away one at birth and the other 46 days later. Im sure thay led me to the pgr because I had never heard of them before that night. Not even sure how I found the site I just did. As already stated on the 1st mission I realised why they took me there. To help. To say to any who want to listen that they are not alone and we will stand and honor listen and offer a shoulder to cry on if needed. sorry it seems that ive rambled more than I intended. David
  11. loud pipes have their good and bad points. Some will say mine are too loud and they are simple ultra slash cuts with no holes drilled or baffles removed. I like them. Most of the time loud pipes arent the problem its the peaple who own them. Im no mechanic but Im of the opinion that if you consantly have to blip your throttle to make the bike run correctly then you need to see a mechanic to fix your carbs or fuel injection or whatever. Most of the peaple who do tis do this cause they like the sound. I see it more often on crotch rocket riders. Heck I used to be one. Terrorism because of loud pipes is a stretcha t best. Now there are noise ordanance laws . Both for bikes and tractors as well. In My little town its 10 pm . After that and you can be given a ticket for noise and it gets steeper every time you get one David
  12. the attacker was the male..........I watched one attack my e 250 windshield the other day cause the truck got closer than he wanted it to be to the female on the nest..........they get very agresive when the female is on the nest David

  19. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-MOULTRIE-GAME-SPY-D55-IR-INFRARED-GAME-CAMERA-5-MP-BEST-PRICE-ANYWHERE-/300687769910?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4602634136 this is the one I use for hunting. I like it. It works well on deer and the like. They also make ones that hook up to a cell type device and can be set to send a pic to your email. That may be an option for you as you stated that it may be stolen or shot. You would still have the pic. Ill do a little more checking on that for you in a bit. David http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-MOULTRIE-GAME-SPY-D55-IR-INFRARED-GAME-CAMERA-5-MP-BEST-PRICE-ANYWHERE-/300687769910?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4602634136 this is one of the cheapest I found but not sure if it would do as I have no expierience with these types of cameras. I have heard a lot of peaple that have them like them as you dont have to go to the woods to check your camera .
  20. not sure what started it but this and reawsons like this are why I dont carry my pistol. After he tried to run over me twice I might have shot him..... David
  21. As for me I openly admit I didnt see him. He readily admitted he was wrong too. But I still feel like I should have seen him. Im kinda paranoid about seeing a rider or being seen when Im riding. His attitude was no worse than mune when I was that age and the older i get the more I realise I still have some work to do on my temper. To say the least this was an excercise in my anger management. David
  22. bottom line is be carefull out there. Today i was in my work van( e250) and I ran a rider on a crotch rocket off the road. Never seen him untill I was already in his lane. Since I ride I tend to look and still never seen him till it was too late. I was traveling in the right lane running 50 mph in a 45when I needed to change to the left as that lane turns into a right turn only at the next light. I looked , seen nothing and changed lanes and thats when I heard his horn. I pulled back into right lane as quick as possible . The only glimps I seen of this guy was that he was on one wheel as he was trying to go by me. The rear wheel at 65 plus according to him. After he cussed me and informed me that I should have seen his hid headlight he recently installed I informed him its kinda hard to see a headlight when its pointed at the sky. He finally admitted to me he was playing and doing a wheely at that speed . I finally got him to calm down after I did say that he must be a hell of a rider as I have no idea how he got it back down on 2 wheels , put it in the gravel edge of the road and managed to keep it up. We parted ways shaking hands and both agreeing to be a little more carefull. In the end no one was hurt and no damage to either vehicle lbut damn that scared us both as that truck weighs 6000 lbs empty and who knows what could have happend. be safe out there weather in a cage or on your bike. Later all David
  23. I agree, Ive got friends/family in austrailia, england ,canada, and ireland just to name a few. Then there is the pgr site. National pgr site will notify you of upcoming missions by email but I dont check email daily. Now ncpgr on facebook is updated usually by the hour and sometimes as quick as a minute or so. Theres also a ventureriders facebook by the way and a cruisin the kooten whatevers its called facebook page. I cant go there because of work and moms health so its nice to be able to keep up with all thats going on in there , see the pics and so forth. I guess it is what it is. And If I decide to change jobs and they say i want get the job unless I give them my log in info then I just walk away. Im a painter. Constructions sites shouldnt care who I voted for , what i watched last night or who my friends are. Also facebook legal is working on getting that written as a law to make it illegal for employers to do this. its an invasion of my privacy. And if you dont like facebook because its puvlic, then google a question about your bike that youve already asked on this site and see what you get. Ive done it and got my own question and responses on google. So nothing is private even though this is a .org site and we pay to be here its still open for others to find on a search engine. Ok soap box has been crushed by my fat butt standing on it so Im stopping. later David
  24. I hear ya. I had a similiar situation and have the deer head on my wall to boot. My grandpa was dying of cancer and he knew he wouldnt make it till hunting season . I went to see him and he was crying when I asked whats wrong. HE said all I want to do is go hunting one more time. So my uncle and myself loaded his rifle and put grandpa on the 4 wheeler and off we went. In the middle of June. Long story short grandpa got a cowhorn spike that day and when the game warden and sherrif( they were waiting at the truvk when we came back) heard the story they said have a nice day. the game warden even checked it in for grandpa so we could get it mounted. It hangs on my wall everyday as a conctant reminder to live life your way with no regrets. I dont regret breaking the law that day.................. David
  25. IM watching.........and Ill out bid someone before its over.......At least I hope I can David
