What did that guy from denver say about west virginia? oh yeah almost heaven David

this place always draws a pretty good crowd when ever the muffins have a M&E there. http://www.deadwoodnc.com/ In this area you have Lexington and there are several greta bbq places. lots of good places here in greensboro too. For M&E in greensboro I would say somewhere like sticky bones. Its central in greensboro and located very close to interstate 40. ON the blue ridge youve got Mabrys mill my personal favorite but they arent really set up for a large group but the corn meal cakes with bbq in them are killer. Pick a place and we will be there if we can. As of wright now Im thinking of coming to hickory on the 24th for that one but the wife has to work so shell be home. Also work may take me out too.We are swamped and two of us work every other weekend as he gets his boy two weekends a month so I pull those. If we have work and its my weekend Ill have to be there david

not sure of redline top end but I do know that 2 up me and my wife.( 475 lbs betwen the 2 of us) and aproximately 60 lbs or so in the bags and trunk. I was catching and if aathere was a safe passing lane Inwould have passed the second gen running 2 up ( maybey 275 lbs betwwen them and his bags and trunk was empty) . I never looked at my speedo at that ratebut when we looked at riderdukes gps it said our top speed in that stretch was 118 . I was still in 4th and wasnt redlined but was close. David

Anybody experienced with the Hyosung gt650r Brand ?
painterman67 replied to KIC's topic in Watering Hole
I almost bought one 3 yrs ago. did a little research and at the time they had just enterd the mc dealorship. Turns out originaly hyosung made bike frames for harley and suzuki. the suzuki 650gt and the harley vrod. looke real close and youll see the resemblance. Last I heard they designed their own motor and started their own bike company instead of frame company. Not sure of how well they holod up but I did like the one that looked like a vrod and on test ride felt a lot stronger than hondas 650. David -

Dan around here the advanced course is tought at the local comunity colleges. Just an idea of where to start. Ive been thinking of it as for me 2 up tends to intimdate me. The most important person in the world is on the back. Be it my wife ,friend or a stranger that needs a reide they are still my resposibity. The local comunity college offers a 2up advanced course. Dunlop D404 VS Shinko 777??
painterman67 replied to 86venturejay's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I dont know about the dunlops. No expeirience with them. I had a set of shinko tourmasters on front and back of my 91 . GRipped the road like it was on rails, but the rear only lasted 7000 miles and that was unsafe on the last 500 or so. Front is still on after 13,000 miles and will rpobably last a few thousand more. Serious cornering questions tips for an experienced Rider
painterman67 replied to muaymendez1's topic in Safety and Education
I feel your pain and nervousness. For me this same thing happened after watching the ride like a pro video. All my life I have ridden instinctively. After the video I was catching myself second guessing everything I did. I almost sold my bike because when I went out I couldnt wait to get back off the thing. For me it took a friend and brother to say lets go ride. And when I got anxious he was behind me a read my lines in the curves and talked to me on the cb. Weird how the voice of someone you know would give their on life for you will calm you down. And when he couldnt calm me down we stopped to take a break. Eventually it went away. The mind is a powerfull thing to overcome. Its probably not your expierience but your confidence in yourself. Give it some time and find a riding buddy . Someone patient enough to not push you and itll happen. Just an opinion from someone whos been there. I took twenty years off a bike after a bad wreck , watched a video and started doubting myself. Stay within your own limits, ride your ride and the rest wil follow Hope this helps David -

camelback is what I use in extreme heat. I also have a drink holder on the handle bar and I keep a bottle of gatoraide in it. I have found the gatoraide usually does it for me as water has no electrolytes in it. With out that I tend to get letahargic behind the handle bars and thats not good. I do also hydrate with water just found the gatoraide works better for me and I dont mind if it gets hot. David

I was 20 in 87 and my first street bike was a 1100 vfr intercepter. with a hot rodded motor. As I remember it would do 97 mph in first gear David

if the trailer has a tilt back gate like the ones you drive up on then the gate raises back up? then a first gen will not ride on a 8 ft long trailer. The gate will not come back up and lock on the pins and clear the trunk. My 91 is just over 8 ft 8 inches front of front tire to back of trunk. Ive already tried to haul my 91 on a 4x8 trailer with that type of drive on and lift gate and it will not clear. David
