  2. My brother installed a set of Avons on his Honda VTX1300 and they didn't have the right front tire size. They (Avon) suggested putting a rear tire of the right size on the front but in the reverse direction. Keith

  5. Yes sir you got a great deal! I won one last year and paid around $200 for the right side one. Guy sent me the left one and another person my right bag. The other guy sent the correct bag to me and the incorrect wrong color bag is still sitting in my garage....mine now I would say! Keith
  6. I see that this is an old post but I have been thinking about doing something with my saddle bag lids as well. Mine have a few scratches on the front edge only - I would say from the copilot getting on and off. I have been playing with the idea of just putting leather on just the front 3"-4" or back to the hinge area. I meant to get a piece of leather yesterday but forgot about it. Anyone tried that? I was thinking it may match up with the tank leather piece? I have never worked with leather so it may not work? Something like the one in this link for the HD bags but just the front portion. 7. I mounted mine to the rear fender in by the right grab handle. Easy to see when I want to check before going for a ride. Keith
  8. Do a search on stebel and you will get a bunch of posts on that horn and locations. I believe they are the same as the Bad Boy but the locations may help. Keith

  10. So does the newer backrest made by Corbin match the stock seats or is it of a different material to match the Corbin replacement seat? Keith
  11. Don't know if any one has noticed the price drop on the Venture in Canada.... Taken from Cycle Canada Site.... Yamaha Motor Canada has announced sizeable price reductions on many of their 2012 motorcycles, including models like the Raider, V-Star 950 and R1. This brings suggested retail pricing on Canadian products more in line with U.S. prices, says Yamaha. “Due to market fluctuations and inventory levels, we weren’t able to address the pricing gaps of the last few years as quickly as we would have liked,” commented Peter Swanton, National Sales Manager, Motorsports for Yamaha Canada. “But to kick off 2012, we’re well positioned to bring about this price reduction. Yamaha customers can now get many models for the same price they would have paid 7 or 8 years ago, even with the product technological advances that have happened in the meantime.” While prices for some machines remain unchanged, many key models will have significant reductions, says Yamaha. For example the Royal Star Venture S's current price of $23,899 drops to $19,999, a $3,900 difference, and the FJR 1300 drops $3200 to $16,999. If it's a litrebike you're interested in, Yamaha's newly traction controlled R1 is now $1,800 cheaper at $14,999.

  18. Hi Bill Just wondering what class of SD card you are using and if a higher class would result in faster read times between tracks? Also I use a program for mass renaming files that would only take a few minutes to rename your files once you get use to the program. You can get it at this link or someone may know of another www.rlvision.com/flashren/about.asp Tks Keith
  19. I ordered the player this weekend and he said he was going to install the switch. I have been emailing him for a few days so I guess they see the necessity of the switch. I'll take a pic when I receive it for the switch location. Keith
  20. I sent an Email to them and this is the reply I received regarding battery drain. Hi Keith, If you not rides frequently, we recommend remove the black connector to the headunit. Due to Yamaha wiring, the VentureMp3 is always powered. If your battery is not in good health, may be discharged. To install a ON/OFF switch, we can send an wiring scheme A cordial greeting Jesus
  21. Has anyone decided to install a switch to avoid the battery drain ? Keith
  22. Book your ferry passage early and unless you want to sleep in a recliner get yourself a cabin........nice to get a shower before hitting the road and a few hrs sleep. We always get a cabin....bit expense but worth it. When the time to travel gets closer get in touch.... keith
  23. It is a tad expensive but compared to the CD changer I guess its in line price wise. I use my Zumo for music now but where I live I really don't have to use a GPS to get around. This would be a nice option and wouldn't have to remove it every time you stop etc. I'm giving it some consideration....wondering if it might eventually be available from other Vendors as time goes on or are these guys making them ? Just curious! Keith
  24. Thanks for the video....looks interesting. I know it came from Spain but is there any indication where it was made ? Keith
  25. They say to put a dime sized hole in the back/bottom of the speaker baffle if there isn't one already there. Keith
