  5. A friend of mine has a 84 Venture that he has an electrical problem with. His battery died so he bought a new one and everything was fine. He left the key on and killed the new battery.....this is when the problem started....he decided to boost it with his truck and while the cables were hooked to the truck his helper struck the handle bar with the positive cable....the negative was hooked to the battery and the key was turned on. Now everything works....lights - horn etc but the starter won't engage....no offer at all. He has checked all the fuses and all appears fine. Sooooooooo any ideas? Keith
  6. I'm no expert but I do know my brother put a set of Avon's on his VTX1300 and the suggestion from Avon was to put the one they recommended for the front to be but on in reverse. Keith

  13. My son has a nasty scar the length of his chest because a guy just didn't bother to hook up his chains. He was walking home from school on the sidewalk and the guy went past and his snowmobile trailer popped off and hit him in the side......a lacerated liver and a bruised kidney. This was a few years ago and all is well except for the scar. We ended up suing the guy and I believe he did rec a traffic ticket. Keith

  19. I watched one of our mechanic's doing a plastic repair today and thought I would share it ! I have never seen it done before.....he clipped the end off a hose clamp.....heated it red hot with a torch and then embedded it into the plastic piece that was broken......see pic below. Not a repair you would do that can be seen but I'm sure someone may be able to make use of it somewhere. The picture is of a bench grinder shield arm. Keith
