  1. I have one installed but would rather use my GPS. I can't get a consistent flow of music playing without it freezing up - not changing track number - some kind of feed back noise. Tried all types of SD cards and music sources. My Zumo is trouble free and at least I can hear any prompts from it without having to switch from the venturemp3. Mine did come with a switch installed.....still gotta remember to turn it off. I contacted them with my problems but was not feasible to return for an assessment. Keith
  2. Do you have the nbrs for the gaskets so I can be prepared Tks Keith

  4. I just visited a Yamaha dealer an hrs drive away where I planned to bring my bike come spring to get my valves adjusted. I was talking to the parts/service guy and he said that they have done quite a few and have never had to replace shims. I was asking if they had a kit or would have to order shims as required......don't have a kit. The tech is a Yamaha trained guy with 15 yrs experience but I didn't get to talk to him. Should I run ? Keith
  5. I have been using mailwasher pro for years. you can check your mail without dling it to your computer. there is a free version www.mailwasher.net (For some reason link won't work - type it in manually and it does) Keith
  6. I would suggest if you are going to buy safety chrome not to leave it too long......some pieces are very hard to find! Not sure Yamaha are producing for the Venture any more? Keith

  9. I d/led and installed with no problems. Did have me confused for awhile tho....My computer is in the basement.......same as 22 yr old stepson.......I was up stairs watching TV when all I could hear was country music......waited for awhile and just figured his music taste had changed again....didn't know about the tunes.....duh! 13. 20 shims in a kit - $130.00 is that what I can expect to pay? on ebay
  14. ya thats exactly what I was thinking..... what do I look for in a kit?
  15. I have a oil leak on the top of my engine that I need to address so while I was getting the gasket replaced I planned to get my valves adjusted as well. Here's the problem....the Yamaha dealer here is new and so is the mechanic....I can bring it to another dealer 100km's away and not see whats being done or anything as I would drop it off and pick it up later that week. I'm not interested in doing it my self but I'm the service manager at a Honda Car dealership and we have a couple of good tech's that I'm sure could do it. Would it be sensible to buy a shim kit just to do maybe one adjustment? I don't think there is one floating around Canada like in the US ? I'm thinking the shipping would pay for a kit? If I was to buy one where would I look ? Thanks for your help Keith
  16. PM me an address John
  17. John I can scan mine and e mail it to you if that would work Keith
  18. I have the Venturemp3 and I'm not really pleased with it. I had a couple of problems with it but sending it back to Spain is just not feasible. I'm going back to using my Zumo. Keith
  19. Get yourself a pc of 3/8" (if I remember correctly) hose so you can slip it over the end of the spark plug....makes it easier to start threading them back in. Keith
  20. Just a normal lunch at our place! Not really I don't like the buggers....available here year round. Yep a Newfoundlander that don't like lobster! Keith
  21. If you use the Depli Forums - Trailer Towing. you will get lots of opinions. From what I have read over the years most feel they arn't required? Guess it can't do any harm. Keith
  22. I assume you are looking at getting the Yamaha rack.....not much to it.....I put down a good layer of masking tape where the legs sit a just lined it up from there - carefully. No fun taking a drill to it but take your time and it will be a breeze. I chamfered the holes after I drilled them just to be safe. Not much to the lights either if you are willing to take the plunge. I would do some reading here about installing a relay when installing the driving lights. Takes a bit of time but not overly complicated. Or you could track someone down in your area and bribe them with food or ice cream and I'm sure you will get offers from what I have seen . 23. Is the plug loose maybe? I've seen that on mine before and if I remember correctly and it was the plug. Keith
  24. This is whats happening around my neck of the woods! The latest forecast from Environment Canada is in and it ups the ante. The southern half of the Avalon will get close to 40 cm while the northern half, including metro, is going to be be dumped on big time - 60 cm minimum, about 70 cm maximum. That's a lot of snow in a 24-hour periodWinds will pick up this afternoon and tonight to about 70 kmh, but will reach the 100 kmh mark overnight and into Friday before easing back tomorrow evening to 60 or 70 The blizzard will also extend to most of the south coast, the Clarenville-Terra Nova region and the Bonavista Peninsula. Gander and central will escape the brunt of it. 1"=2.54cms Glad I'm in central !!! Keith
