  1. As Wizard said, you must have a licence plate on your trailer.
  2. You WNY crew did a great job. I will say again that shower was fantastic. I'm sure you where tired from all the work you put in to make the Rally the success that it was. You deserve a calm and restful weekend now. I wish we where able to stay for the entire week, but we where fortunate to be able to experience what we did. I want to thank all of you for all your work, time and energy you gave to making this a fun and enjoyable Rally for all that attended.
  3. Make sure you go to the Harry Potter section. If you watched the movies it is so realistic.
  4. A big thank you for a great night and day. The ride Tuesday to the finger lakes was very scenic and planned out with precision. My wife and I really enjoyed having Hot Sex with you guys at the fire Monday night. Excellent job on the shower at Pioneer. Lots of space, great water pressure and all the hooks for clothes and shelves for shower supplies. I was able to buy a progressive or zero loss air pressure pump at Pioneer for my shocks, so hopefully I can now do a little more work myself or even help someone else who may need it. Scary thought me being able to help someone with bike concerns. At least I will have a tool to lend them. I hope the rest of the week is as much success as Tuesday was. Sorry we couldn't stay for the BBQ, but we had to hit the road.
  5. Thank you for all your help. Relic was able to help me out and get the air back in and up to spec. for towing the trailer. I will look at buying one of those hand pumps. With any luck they may have them at Pioneer when I get there tomorrow evening. Thanks again for everyones help. Saddlebum even called me at 11pm saying he would come over to help. This is a great site that attracts great people riding great bikes. See you at the International tomorrow night.
  6. Thank you I will take a look for that pin/valve
  7. Hello all. Bad timing for me with most people already left for the International. I was trying to check my rear shock pressure before leaving tomorrow to International and towing my tent trailer. I just bought a hand bicycle pump to add pressure. When I went to take psi I couldn't get a seal and lots of air came out. I tried putting air in with the hand pump and it wasn't going in, I played with the pump and think I broke it. I can not now get any pressure psi reading with the two tire gauges I have. Any suggestions of what to do, or what I broke without realizing? I don't think I will be able to tow the trailer now if the pressure is gone. Any and all advice and criticism is welcome.
  8. I can't find the rides and rallys forum
  9. My wife and I are joining this ride.
  10. Evan, looks like you guys had fun, except for Wayne's motor bike breaking down. Must be something serious if the three of you couldn't get it going.
  11. Congratulations Gary and Mary. Very happy news, I wish you all many good times together.
  12. Bob very good news to hear you are home. That doesn't mean you can do what ever you want. Your posting sounds like you have a great attitude as you always do. Please don't rush your recovery by pushing yourself too soon. Do as the Doctors, nurses and Becky says.
  13. Installing a back rest alone did the trick completely. I can ride all day now and not even any discomfort.
  14. Bob, our prayers go out for you. Don't rush getting home. If they want to do tests get them done while you are there. God Bless
  15. John, we are very sorry to hear this sad news. I know you where very close to your Mom and helped her on a daily basis. Take comfort in the fact that your Mom knew what a great person you are as well as your wife Dianne. With being so close to her, this will make the next days, weeks, and months difficult at times, but remember all your times you shared with your Mom, and take comfort in the fact that you got to express all your love and gratitude for all she had done as a Mother and person. Your Mom is in our prayers for her peaceful journey now, as well as yourself and Dianne for the strength over the next few days and weeks ahead. God Bless Dave and Bernie
  16. Don, I know what you are going thru. My son is now 22, and has been riding my old 920 Virago for Four years. Like you where thinking and saying of having him take the Motorcycle safety course, I did also. I have never taken such a course, so I didn't want to teach him bad habits. What I did do and made me feel so much better was go for a weekend ride with him, on highways, city roads, residential and country roads. I rode behind him and observed what he was doing and what his instincts made him do. We stopped several times and discussed what he did and why he did it. If I felt different about it, I told him my thought process on why I would do something different. For instance he was told while on the course to ride on the left side of the lane on a single highway. He did this religiously. In my opinion, you must also move over in certain circumstances, especially in the country approaching the crest of a hill or on a straight away when approaching a clump of opposing traffic as one of those cars not at the front may pull out to pass and they can't see you close to the middle line like they can when you are moved more to the right side of the lane. We spoke about city riding and looking into the cars at the driver as they can give you a better clue as to their movement as opposed to turn signals or lack there of. I was able to educate him on spring riding with dirt, sand and gravel on the road at turns and stop signs, along with fall riding and what leaves do if you break on them. These little things and others like them he did not learn on the course. More common sense, but in my line of work, I see all too often that common sense, is not so common. I wish the two of you well in this venture (sorry for the pun) together. For me the more I saw him on the bike, the better I slept when he was out on the bike. Teaching him respect of the bike was huge. Without the respect it is too easy to do stupid things. And we all know that there are enough stupid things being done on the road in front of us without us adding to them. Again Don, good luck in both your decisions.
  17. We are sorry to hear this sad news. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you Brad and Rhonda. Dave and Bernie
  18. Some very impressive low speed techniques to learn in the video. Lots of practice for me. All I need now is another bike so I wont drop mine. The DVD has just mean mailed to KIC.
  19. I got the DVD from Trader so I will be watching it a few times then sending it off to KIC.
  20. Two summers ago I rode to Las Vegas and spent a week riding in the desert in July. As RedRider said, you don't want the hot air blowing onto your skin. This will dry you and your lymph glands out. There are some great articles on the web about desert riding. There suggestions (which really work) are: Full face helmet with shield down, riding jacket done up, gloves and long pants. With all these clothes on you would think that you would over heat in no time, but it is the exact opposite. I wore a thermometer inside my jacket and my temperature stayed below 99.6. If you are only riding for a couple of hours then you can get away without covering up, as long as you have sun screen on. However if you are doing some lengthy rides then you need to keep covered so you can keep that moisture against you which really acts like air conditioning. My longest ride in the the desert was 15 hours with my wife on the back. 117 degrees. We managed and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife did not like it when we stopped for gas and she remained on the bike while I went in to pay. The sun was beating down on her without any air movement. I have a modular helmet and like to ride with it up. I could not ride with it up in the desert. The hot air dried my throat out in no time and I thought my was face was in an oven. The gloves I wore, where a bicycle glove with the fingers exposed and mesh on the back. They where very comfortable. I wish you all the best. PS. The heat does eat away at the tread on your tires.
  21. Is your US Postal Service out of the question. I have never had any bad luck or fees with them.
  22. Brad and Rhonda, Our thoughts and prayers are with you both and your parents. Easy for an outsider to say, but focus on your family, the house will get built. There may be delays, and things not perfect, but when the time comes to move in you will be happy. Dave and Bernie
  23. We have it and use it. I would prefer the American Netflix as they have better and newer movies and TV shows. I would recommend signing up for the free 30 days. We did that, but did not keep it as I went to the States in that time period and your netflix goes with you on vacation. The plus side to that is if in the USA you get their content, which is much better so I did not sign up for almost a year. What made me sign up now was we are planning on cancelling our satelite. The good thing as was said earlier by others is the TV shows, no commercials and you can see several seasons and all the episodes. You can start watching and stop it and start it up on your phone, computer or another TV, hours, days or weeks later. A great concept for $8 a month. I would say they are adding more content each month here in Canada.
  24. Confidence in the bike absolutely, naive stupidity in myself so I am ready to go anywhere.
  25. If this is a new list for a separate video, put me on please.
