I smell scammer.....keep your heads up. Brian

yeah, thats how I see it. Although i have gotten lucky and taken the cover off a drive and gave it a spin by hand to start and then the motor was powerful enough then to keep it running until i got my info off. I wouldnt try this with anything valuable though, it was just a try-it and see-if-it-can be done thing with non critical info. Check around,i seem to remember a place here in Canada that will wont charge you unless they get your info off the drive, BUT they aint cheap when they get it. Brian Brian

Yeah, i would hate to see you cook something electronic just beacuse you dont have a 5 dollar inline fuse in. I wouldnt wait until i got home, it could fry and leave you stranded. brian -
well, right away here, lets get you some manuals....follow this link and you can download the manual for your bike here. I would also burn it to Cd so you can leave it in the bike for when you travel or go to a shop. http://labs.trunkful.com/vrmanuals/index.cfm I cant remember the layout on my dash so I will look it up and repost here when i find it. I got an email from Rick and Nina late last week cancelling the meetup in Biggar Sk that we were going to do last week. They were trying to do the camping thing but the weather over most of Western Canada and especially over the prairies here has been almost record cold and we set a record for rainfall for September by the 5th of the month. So Rick and Nina decided to rent a car when they got to Calgary and continue the rest of the trip to visit Ninas mom. They were headed back to Calgary Sunday and back on the bike hoping for warmer weather to continue there camping trip back home over the next couple of days. Dont worry, i am sure youll hear from Rick soon......lol.....we ALWAYS do!!! Brian

It looks great, but they dont show the trunk or tops of the side bags. Most of the 85s ive seen have the clear coat peeling. But it looks like it would be a nice ride for anyone if it runs as good as it looks. I didnt see the VIN to check and see if it was made after the 2nd gear issue was fixed. The ad says engine size 1300cc,,,,need to see the side of the engine case to see if someone swapped out thr engine or if the dealer doesnt know his stuff. Brian

Does that version like long rides on the bike with an angry boyfriend at home too? Brian:rotfl:

Hey David better reread the posts just above yours, I think there was a couple of MKII options there.. Brian -
I was wondering if there was a way to include a date a thread was posted for the first time beside the heading or title? ive just noticed quite a few old posts come to life lately and am wondering if that date addition might help eliminate postings on a stale dated thread? Brian

Personally i like the coffee press best as theres no paper or anything else needed. just add water boil, throw the coffee in and when its done push the plunger down to filter the grounds out and pour. when youre done, rinse everything and go! Here is one Ive used, but next time I would get the all metal one with no plastic so I can throw it on a grill directly. If youre not going ot make a change until winter, i would go back to the dealer and get him to fix those lights properly in the meantime. After all he wasnt shy about charging you for the service, so get him to do it right. IMHO..... the bike looks much better with them on. Brian
