  1. :bluesbrother:thanks so much for the reply
  2. :fingers-crossed-emoHEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am at a complete loss. What rear tire should I go with???? I am getting mixed signals. Can someone help me out on this one???? TIA!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I used this setup for years on my old bike and I do a lot of night time riding. never hurt the remote or the bike. But I like the direction some of these replies are going. Better and safer ideas.
  4. Ok here goes. Sorry this took so long but things have been totally crazy around here. First thing you need to buy is a 12v garage door opener. Here is the one I used. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/Shinufu/0909101242.jpg Next you will need some electrical wire, solder gun and solder. Open the garage door opener so it looks like this. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/Shinufu/0909101243.jpg Take out the battery. Now the rest is quite simple. You need to solder a POS and NEG wire on the battery posts. Simple enough. Now in the next picture you will notice the SW1 on the left side. There are two tiny posts the run up thru the plastic. They need to be soldered together. That is for the constant connection. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/Shinufu/0909101244.jpg Once everything is soldered into place you can file out two small grooves for the wires to go thru and put it all back together. Test it buy using the 12v battery that came with the remote. If all works your install ready. I split the fairing and pulled the headlight assembly out to get a good look at the wires. There are three on the plug for the headlight. One is for low beam, one is for high beam and one is a ground. You want the HIGH BEAM and GROUND. I used wire clips to attach the remote to the wires. Use plenty of electrical tape to secure the wires and put it all back together. WALAH!!!!!!!! You should now be able to open your garage door with your highbeams. I hope this helps!!!!
  5. Ok ill go try it out Thanks a ton.
  6. what wire do I hook to on the rear coils?
  7. I scrapped the tach project. I am at a loss on hooking this thing up. I can only get it to read half the rpms and I am only seeing one coil on the right side under the tank. I looked at the tach adapter but it shows two coils. No idea where it is or how to do the rest of the hookups.
  8. I have a tach that is for a 4,6 or 8 cylinder hookup. Where should I attach the lead wire (Grean for signal) from the tach? The rest of them are self explanatory its just the lead wire I am somewhat confused about. TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I will work on it this weekend and try to get it posted by early next week
  10. This is something I do to all my bikes. It is very simple thing to do and easily installed. If there is enough interest in this I will make a write up and post it with pics.
  11. I have some free time this weekend and want to take the tape deck out but leave the AUX jack for my mp3 player. I have looked all over and cant find the specific thread for tape deck removal. Can someone point me in the right direction please. Also I want to install a tach. I am looking at this one here http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Sunpro-Super-Tach-II-2-5-8%22---Black-Face-&-Chrome-Bezel-Actron_16990020-P_N3342_P|GRP2032____ will that one work and how difficult is the install ( I am by no means a mechanic) LOL
  12. Ok I have been all over this forum and I am more confused than ever LOL. I am looking for a decent tach for my 99 RSV. Simple hook up as I am no mechanic and price worthy. Any suggestions out there for me? TIA guys you all rock.
  13. I would have to say the dumbest thing I have ever done is to ride while being angry with the girlfriend. This happened back in the early 90's when I live in Germany. I had a 1990 Suzuki GSXR1100. I ate up corners like there was no tomorrow. Well after fighting with the GF I got on the back and left. Going down one of the many beautiful roads in the country I was hitting it pretty hard. This bike had been tuned to run ( 156hp). I was getting even more angry with the slow car in front of me and decided to pass him. Problem was I didnt know there was a sharp left turn coming up. I passed and went into the curve and around 100moh. I didnt make the turn and went off the right side of the rode. Now at this point it is amazing how many thoughts can go thru your head in a split second. ( Like what the hell was I thinking, why am I such an idoit ect....). I hit the wall of the ditch at just over 90mph. Got launched over the handlebars 65 yrds out into a field. Broke my tailbone left foot and left hand. Needless to say I dont ride angry anymore and I certainly dont ride crotch rockets anymore either. God smiled on me that day and I have never forgotten it.
  14. Money sent. Hope I wasnt to late. Hate to see a fellow rider without a ride.
  15. I was wondering if there was a rev limiter. Ill give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks yet again LOL
