  1. Well it's not what I expected to see,,,, YEP, I think him to be an idiot, or however you say it in Russian, don't even know if it's real,,,,,, BUT A lesson can be learned from this video,,, real or not real. He had perfect control over his bike, knew it's limitations, it's parameters, it's power and it's braking abilities. Had a good handle on traffic patterns (yet he was an absolute fool) and had guts! Most of the video showed lane splitting and I'll not discuss that, but the way he demonstrated where to find holes and avenues to keep going is something we should all be aware of. In training one of the most repeated pieces of info that we were told was: The THROTTLE is your friend, not your brake. He used that to the full extent. When in trouble it's something to keep in mind: you're probably better to find a hole, go through it and end up safe on the opposite side, rather than to brake, dump the scoot and\or get rear ended in the process. That's also why we were trained to have that scoot in 1st gear when you come to a stop,,, and then do 'shoulder checks'. Yep, I think we can learn something from this fella's mistakes, that being riding like that. He was thinking a long ways ahead of where he was, his head was up and he had to be concerned not where he was at the present, but where he was going and what dangers and concerns there would be when he got there. Never stopped planning, this boy.
  2. I'd say that's a bit scary, sure glad I live where I do!
  3. Looked very easy when I seen it on TV,,,,, wonder how THEY did it???
  4. You should add a swing arm service, pumpkin service, clean and rebuild all brake cylinders and masters, as well as the clutch slave cylinder. And there is more, but those are some of the safety issues that come to mind. Sounds like you got something to keep you busy, hope the fire is warm. Carl
  5. If you are trying to cheer my day,,,, you just did,,,, aren't kids wonderful?
  6. I can almost feel your pain,,, but we put on 1500 k in the last few days, so I guess some of would be just for you,,,,,'course you got some real riding time in this year, when the rest of had to rest and stay at work. Hope you feel better soon bud, Mary will need a good nurse soon enough I bet.
  7. You should be aware that there is an item called 'manssiere' available, that would help these new items of yours to stay nice and firm and fresh looking. It's something similar to a brassiere but does have some special different features, that cannot be explained in this post here, but doing a little search at your local clothier stores might help you get what you need. It is not available on line and there is no info to be had on line, so your loco store is the only place to go. Let us know how you make out,,,, you know we are all family and wish only the best for you.
  8. Going to take a little polish to make them shine, even so,,, awe never mind, you wouldn't know what I was going to talk about anyways.
  9. What ever is broke and needs fixing, will just have to wait until that baby falls down,,, me NOT going to the bottom of this thing, much less to the top. so there!!!!!
  10. Look like perfectly good tennis balls to me,,, why are they hitting them??//:ignore:
  11. Little too far away from Ottawa, otherwise I might have given it some thought. Carl
  12. I'll say that again,,,, clean up your act my boy!!!!
  13. Boy you had me thinkin' there for a minute, thought you was going to buy an electric now, I really thought you were going off the deep end,,,, well maybe you have already,,,, but you just wanted us to be assured you weren't coming back to the right side anytime soon.
  14. Not sure how well that would hold together under stress, but nice to watch.
  15. It always hard to loose a good friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Ride on my friend.
  16. I'm thinking you might have an aftermarket radio.
  17. Happens,,,, yep,,,, it happens,,,,, glad I got good brakes and a guardian angel.
  18. You might not have the mics wired correctly. They need to be hooked to the positive as well as it's own negative I believe. It's only a 2 wire mic so your computer mics should work just fine. My thoughts anyways, from what I remember when I did mine Carl
  19. Taters,,,,, if it ain't chrome and needs to move.,,,,, then's it's bound to rust, and we all know that once something rusts it's hard to move,,,,,, now we all know that on a 2nd gen the brake peddle isn't really used that much,,, (you've got to go fast to need such things often),, but the shifter lever is another story,,, it needs to move and move often, 'specially when there is a lot of weight on the bike,,, so I vote that Tom did the right thing,,, and you can't chrome the one side iffin you don't chrome the other,,, that's just the way it is!!!!
  20. I am really surprised that no one,,,, at least until now,,,, no one came up with the correct way to fix this dilemma. Sure your scoot fails and you tear into it, lay it all over the road side, and then you discover, on your own that the kill switch is in the off position,,,,,,, well you make like you found something profound under the seat, get up, reach for the handle bars to try it again and in the process you flip the switch, nobody notices, and you look like a real good mechanic and best of all, the scoots starts and runs better than ever. Don't know how to get out the 'pond' on the sly though, you'll have to work that one yourself Don.
  21. I would think that you ride for pleasure,,,, that then goes to say it must be pleasurable for both, the rider and the passenger, so what's wrong with communicating your pleasure or your dis-pleasure,,,, seems even steven to me. Now if Marca starts asking me to go 'back-up'?? that might be a little too slow. She does tell me when she's not enjoying the ride, when it's break time, she's getting cold or hot, cornering is not going well, get your feet down at the stop signs, somebody is following too close, too much side wind,,,,,, YEP, she needs to enjoy it as well.
  22. And I was going to post something smart,,,, but now I can't think of it anymore.
  23. Going from the shifter pedal there is a link that goes to the shaft which goes into the engine. On this shaft there is a leg which is attached to the shaft from the pedal. It should be pointing down and slightly to the rear, maybe you've got that wrong.
  24. Thanks for doing that Phil, you've had that for as long as I've known you,,,,,,I hope you don't look like Hal now,,,,,,, I mean, how can I tell the one from the other,,,,,,,,
  25. I am so impressed, I went ot look at my scoot as to where I would 'hide' some leather, just so you can practise up a little before you make everyone else's stuff,,,, but I don't see any place that needs some,,,,, you known the 85 are perfect!!!!!!
