  1. Mushy is the word,,,, boy if you change soo fast, I'm going to be more careful!!!!
  2. $800 max, or you'll loose your shirt on this one. The bumper is worth something but it wouldn't fit my scoot,,,,, I'd make sure it wouldn't fit my scoot!!!
  3. Now you're saying you got a buddy?? is that different than friend???
  4. Well you did RIDE and EAT,,,and then also helped out with the funds needed, so you are a VentureRider for sure. Thanks for being there!
  5. Was there and had no problem finding the VentureRiders,,,, just had to look for fattie and skinny, shorty and long boat,, and the old timer found himself by accident!!!!!!oh ya, and brown skin sure helped out!!!
  6. From the training manual of the course that I took some years ago: -For the 1st 20 minutes or so get off the road, there is too much oil that needs to washed off first. Depends on how much rain there is, but if it's not much, longer is better than shorter. -Slow down a bit,, it's safer, but don't start bothering traffic, then get out of the way. -On wet roads,,, not loaded with oil and such, MC tires have 95% of their traction ability, considering the pressures are right. Now in my opinion only, your front tire has too much air, I would go for about 32 or 34, but not 40,, but that's only my opinion, and I don't have any problems in the rain, with either Venoms or Dunlops E-III. And I don't know how much weight you carry with 2 up, but 40 sounds to be lots,,, only my opinion of course,,, again. The 2 of us weight about 420 with me being the one that is short changed in that department.
  7. Won't be long and we'll have cottagers complaining to the government about the low water levels, and expecting those folks to do something about it,,,,,, YA!!!
  8. Just got back from PA, spent all of last week there, in Lancaster more or less, rode some awesome roads,,,, little or no traffic,,,,,, WOW, what a good time,,,, will go back there again,,, maybe real soon. Didn't post that we were going, wanted to be on our own. Motels were ot that bad for price, had one room in Buttonville (Ephorium) for only $38.00, it was small, but we only slept there, so it was awesome. Stayed at the Dutch Motel in Palmyra and got ripped off for an extra $20.00,,,, she wasn't Dutch, she was from Burma. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go again, maybe in the fall for some colors.
  9. I would go with the local law enforcement,,, maybe,,, they will probably want to know who you are, and then if the guy claims that there was more money there than what there is now, you might get stopped at the border for things unknown. I would call the locals first first and see what the procedure is, and if they demand to have your ID, I would then just drop it off on their desk, with a note as to how it got there. I would also park the shuttle a block or two away so they don't get your license number. May seem like a lot of overkill, but it may save you from overkill coming from the law and lots of problems in border crossing in the future. Fie sure, I would not tell the law who I am.
  10. Forgot to call the neighbors didn't you!!!
  11. Well we went right through there today,,,,, guess you guys don't start things early, 'cause we didn't see anybody there no how,,,,,, so had lunch @ Heritage instead.
  12. We really don't have a problem with all that,,,,,,, Marca looks after it all, and there are no worries. 'Course you could always invite some neighbors over for supper and offer to do their laundry while they are there anyways,,,,,, Just a note,, I Would bring some beer!
  13. You know somethin',,,,,,, we're stuck,,,,we can't get there from here!!!!!!!!!
  14. Thanks for the update, bro. You can't get out of our prayers, it's a steady thing. We sure hope for the best for you two, especially you, but Eileen needs our prayer support as well. Now if you can't learn how to take it easy, we're going to have to send somebody down there to learn you.
  15. Sounds like a good report, just hit that nerve a number of times real good, and it'll either go away, or you will get used to it:think:,,,,,,, ya got to ride man!!!!
  16. Goose,,,,, when I read your post, I laughed, I thought it was a neat, comical way of asking for more specific info. Loosen up folks, we are a family here, and so want to help each other. Often time the words don't come across as intended, so give us all a break, take it all with a grain of salt, look for the humor first, and if you don't feel well, take that into consideration as well. Very seldom does one intend to pi$$ somebody off, and if that is the intention, then our Mods some take care of the issue. SO LIGHTEN UP,,,,THANKS
  17. First off I would take the whole pump assembly apart, clean it, some lube is necessary and dry the desicant. It needs to be done once in a while anyways, maybe every two years. In the mean time, use this trick: pump up the 'shock', go to the front, then back to the rear and the plunger may be able to move to show you the correct amount in the real shock and then you can adjust it from there. This may take a moment or two, so keep pressure on the button, don't release it right away. You may have to try this trick a couple of times for the right reaction. Carl
  18. Nah, it don't look like no second gen to me, but it's a way to shiny for Dan,,, but it looks nice!
  19. I think that would be a worthwhile forum, maybe somebody important will read this thread and then create one, just 'specially for: Cycle Wreckers, or Cycle Recyclers, or Parts Bikes, or Older Than Dirt, or maybe just Used Parts.
  20. Hey Tom, sure appreciate you going out of your way like this, but you could have just called me for the measurements, lets see Christy would be a 16, Leanna is a sure 'D', Sue wears a super large, but I think Peggie is small, well at least I think she could have been larger, Jane does all right in a Medium or so, might be a little tight, but would fit, Marge is a double, and the last time I asked Doris,,,,well maybe it's just as well you went out on your own.
  21. We will keep her in our thought and prayers, and you as well. Glad to hear she's feeling better, and also glad if it had to happen you were close to a medical center. Take your time, we'll see you when you get back. Carl
  22. The parts are at 679bike in Mount Hope, he has the electronics and saddle bags, floor boards, pegs etc at home. Call him if you like. Phone# is in the ad.
  23. Try this thread for some answers: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49901&highlight=saddlebags
  24. During the winter last year, I did some sawdust making as well. Not my expertize really. All the sawdust I make seems to end up on my scoot, helps protect it from any would be thieves,, and if someone should want to pay for it, I could get extra, seeing as it's sooo old and dust covered, helps with the authenticity, I guess, hope. You do nice work Dick, just be a bit more careful, thumbs are handy things.
  25. Yep, sync the carbs first, then post again.
