    GARMIN!! They have so many models to choose from it will make ya dizzy....and those folks stand behind them 100% even when the Warranty expires. Check out Amazon.com for good deals there.... as well as E-Bay too. Boomer........who never leaves home without American Express, GARMIN, and a flask of Jim Beam for medicinal purposes.

    Try a bit of teflon tape on the seat studs..........I did that with just the stock nuts and they don't budge loose at all now. Boomer........who thinks ya might enlist the aid of a local midget to help tighten those nuts too......... Disclaimer: No midget should suffer harm in the process of performing this minor task..... and under the Equal Employment Act should be fairly compensated with beer,sex, or growth enhancing steroids.

    IMHO Yamaha don't give a hoot about the Venture.....they are too busy making rice rockets for the youngsters. I'll bet a dollar to a dime we do NOT see a upgraded Venture in 2010 or 2011 either. Boomer.....who thinks Yamaha has its head planted where the sun don't shine.

    If you check around with a few Carpet Stores ya might get a really good deal for a hunk of carpet to nail/staple down on top of that wood floor.......... Boomer.......who thinks wood floors are great for square dancing only.

    I saw a red one go by the Coffee Shop on Saturday. Had to look twice cuz I was trying to see what the heck the guy had strapped on over the rear fender....of course it was the TRUNK! I'll stick with my Midnight Venture thank ya very much. Boomer.....who thinks that even if the color was black that Victory would still bring roadkill back to life.....

    OK I have the rear view mirrors which Hotrod posted about in this thread. Mirror size and quality are very good! One problem I encountered......Due to chroming on the mirror mounting stems I could NOT get the stems to thread into the aluminum mounting block. I figgered if I had a Die & Tap Set this problem would be a easy fix ie; chase the stem threads and knock some of the chrome off. I don't..... so I used the short OEM mirror stems and all worked out well. Just thought I'd mention this for anyone else who ordered these mirrors. Boomer.........who likes the looks of the mirrors being in tight to the fairing.

    TIRE RECALL NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 09T003 Pirelli Tire, LLC is recalling certain Metzeler ME880 Marathon motorcycle tires, sizes 13/90 B16 M/C TL 73H and 140/90 B16 M/C TL 77H, manufactured between June 22 and September 13, 2008. These tires were stamped with incorrect load range and inflation pressure information which fails to conform to the labeling requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 119, "New Pneumatic Tires for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of more than 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and Motorcycles." The purpose of this standard is to provide safe operational performance levels. Metzeler will notify owners and replace the noncompliant tires free of charge. The recall began on November 18, 2008. Owners may contact Metzeler Consumer Affairs at 1-877-202-4993. For more information for this particular recall, please refer to 09T003.

    Have you tried training yourself to keep that right heel firmly on the floorboard while using that rear brake? It is very easy to get into the habit of lifting the foot to hit that rear brake pedal.............and a tough job to re-train that right foot too........ Boomer.......who only romps the right foot on the wife's cat now.

    Hotrod...........I ordered a set this past 7 July and they arrived in the mail today. Really nice looking mirrors!! Thanks for posting the info on these. I'll hang on to my stock set in case anybody here needs them. Boomer.........who will see himself much better while drooling at the gals now....

    I came close to making a donation myself today. Pulled into a gas station and saw the loose gravel just as I was pressuring the rear brake....rear wheel started to slide a little and I goosed the throttle just enough to bring the scoot upright and get through the mess. Boomer.......who had a few kind gentle words with the station owner and enjoyed watching him sweep his driveway while I enjoyed a free soda pop sitting in the shade.........

    IMHO I think this whole deal was a set-up for these guys to get together and drink some beer. Kinda noticed that NONE of them mentioned bringing the wife along on this "Rescue Mission"..... Boomer..........who woudda brought Jim Beam to really liven things up.....

    Once ya get yer carb floats to re-settle slap some SeaFoam into the gas tank....then drive it like ya stole for a couple hunnert miles. Boomer.......who's even warshing his jeans in SeaFoam now and it prevents MonkeyButt too..........
