  1. Must have been a tough life being celibate, but you -were- safe from ware-wolves.....
  2. Artificial. Found a great one with the lights at Home Depot for about 40 bucks more than they charge for them on a lot.... $40 bucks plus.... And everyone that sees it thinks it's real. This is our 4th year so we're way ahead in the expense dept. HO HO HO!!!!
  3. Thanks for the info Guys. Let me know how it goes Thom..... I love it when someone else leads the way:).... If I do need to pull the pan I'll probably go the new everthing route too. Might as well do it all, while I'm in there. I probably would have let the leak ride if it just marked it's spot, but the leak is right over the collector and smokes up a storm. I'll check the shifter seals. Good info. The PO did a lot of 'go-fast' experiments, and he apparently wasn't a member of this board. When I took a look at the K&N air filter I found the Air Box lid so full of holes it would have done a swiss cheese maker proud. Replaced it with a stock lid and it sure ran a lot better. I wonder if he got around to installing Progressives, it has a Super Brace???
  4. Hey George. The new2me '91 I just picked up has an oil leak right above the collector on the left side. Get's a little smoky when things start to warm up. I haven't really poked around to actually locate the leak yet, and it might just be in the stator/wire plug area, but I thought I'd cover all the bases before I start to look. Hey....it's winter... Heard you got a little rain up there...
  5. OK, I've never replaced a pan gasket before, so I thought I'd ask the experts. After getting the exhaust and collector out of the way can I drop the pan, or am I just starting. Man.... I hope I don't have to pull the motor.....
  6. Dang, I thought you were refering to the swim suit variety..... :rotf:
  7. Since you'll never use it, you can send me the voucher... if Motel 6 is the chain you're refering to...... Good thing it wasn't the one in Fort Collins....
  8. I noticed they didn't compare abrasiion resistance to buffalo hide, but just to man made materials. They also stayed away from adding Kevlar to the man made list???
  9. That's what ya get for staying in those high end motels/hotels. Motel 6 has always used 'one time use' plastic cups........ And here I thought they were just being cheap......
  10. Zinger Alert!!!!!..............
  11. Keep us posted on how long this one lasts......
  12. Trend will find it, and also give you a detailed explanation on how remove it. Of course they're not going to correct it for nothing. They're in business to make a profit. However they do earn it. Best Virus protection I've ever had.
  13. Along that line you can also run the Trend free housecall. It's what sold me on their product.
  14. Well said Don.
  15. Sure. It's a '92. Make me an offer I can't refuse.
  16. Yep!! Try Ebay. Rt. mirrors blow hot and cold in what they end up going for. If they're selling high, wait a month and they'll make a market correction......
  17. OK, did you check the cell level when you parked it, and before putting on the Tender? A Tender usually only puts out 12.9 vdc, and that's not enough to cause gassing and the electrolite level to drop. I'm wondering if it's your bike's rectifyer that's allowing the alternator to keep charging a high voltage while you're riding and not cutting back like it should when the battery gets replenished??? It might also explain why you're going thru so many batteries?? Just a thought.....

    OK

ya can tell Lowell's not out riding......:rotf:
  19. Whew!! On sale for $125 buck.... Glad I bought mine back last year. $54.00 plus shipping. I for the life of me can't remember the online dealer I picked it up from.... that's what ya get when dealing with an OF.... Shoulda bought a bunch... Got the link off Charlie. (E.Fishin.C) when he posted it on the board. Maybe he still has the link?? Charlie.... chime in!!!
  20. I gotta take my hat off to ya, but agree with your wife. It got down to 35 degs here yesterday and I caged it the 60 miles to the Meet'n'Eat. Plug in the windchill factor at 70mph and it's just too nippy for this OF..... Just for the heck of it I searched and found this wind chill chart. Brrr... And here's a calculator that will give you wind chill effect at any combination of temp and speed.
  21. Unless I win the lotto I probbably won't be attending the '08 rally, but I guess can still toss in an opinion about the patch and the 'dot-org'....I think?? Anyway, Y'all know I'm always opine-ing.... I think this organization has evolved far beyond a website and is more of a MC association with a common interest, Venture V4's, that happens to have a great website to communicate. It's about time we start calling it what it is. Venture Rider International, and not be so worried about whether the .org has to appear on the patch ???

    Good video

That town has been around for over 40 years. Harley didn't have anything to do with creating it....:rotf:
  23. Does your wife have the problem, or is she the scapegoat??? It's easy to pass the buck and place the blame elsewhere.. Sometimes when the goal is achieved (perfect scoot) some people just need another challenge. Good luck with whatever you end up with......
  24. YEP!!
  25. No problem here either. My original statement was my opinion based on an observation and nothing more. You can agree or disagree, it doesn't make any difference.
