It was brought to my attention by one of our Canadian members that after searching the internet he had found a cheaper price than what I had posted in the classifieds. I responded by telling him that I would be more than happy to meet that price...heck I'll even beat it, and round it off to $130, but he responded he wasn't interested in buying one. Living in Canada, it's understandable, as he has a lot of time on his hands and snow on the ground. Anyway, I thought I was being fair, but not wanting to take advantage of anyone on this board, I'll make the same offer to everyone else. $130 plus shipping, or $165 including shipping, your choice. Have a Merry Christmas.

Paint matching
Condor replied to Big Daddy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I suggest taking another part off the bike down and get it color matched to keep the painted part looking like the rest. Over time paint will have color shift and not be exactely like a new blend. Here's a link to a site that deals with touch up paints. http://www.drcolorchip.com/ I thought the above link, I put in my post, was for the site that actually sold mixed paints in various sizes. Pint, Qt, gal, etc. I searched and couldn't find the other link in my favorites. Colorchip is more of a chip fixing system. Sorry.... That's what i get for not paying attention.... -
How much stopping power?
Condor replied to mark reed's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The first gens are supposed to work that way. Only about 20-25% of the braking power is applied to the rear brake. It goes a long way to keep you from high siding.....- 35 replies

Need Brake Help Desperately
Condor replied to kycaveman's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You're gonna get a lot of responses and suggestions to your problem, but.... I've been there and done that. So believe me when I tell you......Your expansion relief orifice is plugged. When the fluid heats up and expands from normal braking it has to go somewhere, or it applies more pressure to the brake pads, which causes the brakes to heat even more, which eventually ends up locking up the brakes tighter than a frogs a$$. This can happen on every master cylinder on the bike, but it's most common in the rear brake master. If you remove the plastic reserve hose fitting, held on buy 2 screws, from the side of the rear master (there's an 'O' ring seal), and look down inside you'll see two holes. One goes all the way thru to the cylinder, and the other looks like someone tried to drill and then stopped. Believe me, there's a tiny hole at the bottom. This hole is plugged and causing all your problems. Crud settles down from the reserve and clogs the hole. That's why it's so important to bleed the master cylinders on a regular basis. I finally took the master back apart and blew it out. The best way to tell if it's open is shine a small flashlight into the cylinder and look for a speck of light coming out the side. I tried very small needles to clean it, but even they were too big. I've used the wire from a grocery store wire tie on the clutch, but I think that may even be too big for the rear. Hopes this helps. -
LOL... Yes Alan, there is a sun. Somewhere.... :draming:Since we have a somewhat 365 day riding season around here there's not much call for recreational snow vehicles. A rain suit is a big plus....

I haven't got a clue Joe. I don't even know if Netscape is supported as a stand alone browser any longer. I haven't followed it, but I think a larger search engine bought the rights to it a long time ago, and I think?? that's why I reluctantly switched over to IE. OK I just did a search and it was picked up by AOL. I'm not a big fan of AOL.....

Yesterday afternoon I went by a local independant MC dealer, Cycle Parts, to pick up a copy of Friction Zone, a west coast rag. The last couple of times I dropped by it was closed and I just figured it was for the holidays. Same thing this time, so I got out and peaked thru the windows. Nothing. The store walls were bare. Closed out of business.... I received an anouncement about an auction being held next Wednesday from Lone Eagle about another local independant store. National Cycle Discount Center. AUCTION The first store was nice but didn't have a ton of inventory on the shelves. National was loaded, and there are over 1400 items listed in the auction catalog. And a lot of these are multiples. This may just be a coincendence that these two stores were located right here in Sacramento, but it may be a sign of the times. And I wonder if this is happening in other parts of the country as well??? I plan on attending the National auction next Wednesday because they have some big sized items that I've been wanting, and I may get lucky. And.. anything else of interest that ends up going for cheap.

I've already been to download.com, but everything available is priced, and lately I've never been happy with what Downlaod has to offer, and end up removing it. I was hoping to find something that wouold support I.E. much like that pic resize plugin that Don listed a while back.
