  1. Well congrats on moving to Texas... you know we still need to put a fence on the border with plenty of barbed wire...no not the border from Texas to Mexico... the border of the Mason Dixon Line...LOL:Avatars_Gee_George:
  2. I didnt have that wobble until I just changed a defective Kenda Kruz rear tire. Doesnt seem like any play. If it were bearings I would think it would have happened before changing the tire. Now about 75 I get the wobble.
  3. How interesting, all these replies and not one single First Gen input. The only thing I can say is I have never switched to reserve so have no idea how far I can go and yes I ride a lot. I put 17,000 miles on Blondie last year. When I get to the last bar on the gauge I gas up. When I have from time to time allowed the low fuel warning light to come on, I find a gas station within 10 miles or so. I usually go 120 miles and then find a station. Just cant make myself go to reserve...lol...a mental block I think.
  4. Thank you all for the condolences...as so many have said...it is comforting that we know Gary is with our Lord now but we grieve none the less not for Gary but for ourselves having lost such a friend down here. We grieve for his family who must now make major changes in their lives and adjust for his loss. We grieve for the many souls who will never feel Gary's love and kindness and generosity. There is so much to be done in these last days we cant afford to lose just one general in the Lords army. Thank you VentureRider family... you guys have been and always will be a blessing. Terry (Big T)Richardson CMA Maranatha Riders Vice President Patriot Guard Riders Safety Officers ABATE of Florida Member P.S. Gary was also a member of the NW Florida Patriot Guard Riders.
  5. Yesterday morning our CMA chapter had its monthly chapter meeting. We had noticed our dear brother Pastor Gary Laird was not present at the start of the meeting. Within 30 minutes we recieved word a biker on a white Harley was down near by and started praying. A few minutes later we were informed our brother was the victim and was killed instantly because a cager failed to pay attention and turned in front of Garys white 2007 Harley Ultra Classic. Gary was a very safe rider, he had full protective leather and a full helmet. Despite his best efforts to protect himself, the careless driver a 1984 Lincoln towncar (tank) stole the life of a worth while individual. No charges were made at the time and the crash was listed a under investigation. His wife, family, friends and church will deeply miss this man of God but so will the patients at the nearby hospice he volunteered at weekly, the orphanges he supported in Mexico will have an uncertain future and so many more community organizations now have a void. I was first saddened and then angered at the local paper giving Gary 5 small lines and yet a cager crash nearly a quarter of a page. When will we cease to be second hand citizens? Sorry guys, I just had to vent and you guys are good at listening.
  6. Well guys the rear tire I changed a back in June of 2009 developed a crack in the center about an inch long. I called Chaparrell Motorsports where I bought it and they said I needed to buy a new tire. I told them this tire only had a about 4000 miles on it and I wanted to know what the warranty was on a Kenda Kruz tire....they said nothing buy a new tire. I told them that was a heck of a way to do business and they hung up on me. The good news is...I took the same pics I emailed Chaparrel Motorsports and emailed them to Kenda Kruz tires. They had their engineer look at them and agreed it should not have happened and shipped me a brand new tire. These folks at Kenda Kruz were great... cant say enough for the... the folks at Chaparrel Motorsports? Yeah I cant say enough about them either now. I love my Kenda Kruz tires. I will just have to find someone else to buy them from.
  7. My tatoo would have to say " I miss my wife" because she would kick me to the couch if I got one.
  8. hey Squid I know this is for a 2nd Gen, any idea if there is a simular arrangement in a 1st gen?
  9. Condor, actually when the cruise is working I can pull the clutch and it wont disengage. That is only when I hit the brakes.
  10. Thanks for the info guys. Hey Skydoc17, not to worry, at speeds more than 85 my heart kicks off.
  11. Shes a beaut but I bet he does have a high reserve. You can bet he doesnt plan to give it way. I bought my 87 Venture Royale a little over a year ago for $2800 and she is still in excellent shape with only 58,000 miles on here. I put 15,000 on her myself. This is my second 1st Gen and I cant say enough good about em. I've been riding for 37 yrs but I sure as heck havent had 50 bikes. This dude is either a terrible rider or has more money than sense.
  12. Hey guys, ole Blondie has developed a hick up in her cruise control. I hit the button and the indicators come on normally, I push the set button and nothing happens. I can be riding along and try it several times and nothing then all of the suddent it works again. It might work all day or it might suddenly drop back out. When it drops out the indicator says its on stand by. Any ideas?? Thanks
  13. Yup you have go to see the Naval Aviation Air Museum for sure. They also have a couple avengers salvaged from the floor of the Great lakes. Second spot to see is the Fort Pickens at the beach. There are numerous redoubts and forts along the beach that are fun to explore. One place to eat is The Crab Shack. Great seafood. Another top spot is Joe Patties seafood downtown on the water. Absolutely incredible food, very reasonable and they have their own boats for fresh catches. You also dont want to miss McGuires downtown for great chow and suds they brew themselves. Its a great city with many things to do. Enjoy your trip and if you need anything while here, give me a call at 850-346-0978 Big T
  14. Man I wish I could get my first bike back. It was a 1967 Sears Allstate 106 CC. Solid black with a magneto. I can still smell it when my dad first put it in the garage in the center stand and I sat on it running the engine, could sleep that night knowing the next day would be Saturday and I would get to ride it. Wow...what a great day that was.
  15. My 84 Venture always pulled to the right but my 87 Venture Royale is straight as an arrow. The reason my 84 pulled to the right was it was slightly twisted and didnt have the new fork brace. That may be your answer
