No, the bottom line here is that there are many other brands out there that compare very well with the Bushtec at half their retail price. Bushtecs are not head a sholders above the rest of the industry enough to warrant prices double some of the others. Just because they have a patent on an item doesn't neccessarly mean that it's the only design that will do the job, or they are the only ones to produce a gel coat and color finish that are flawless. Personally I woundn't spend even half that amount on something that sits in the garage taking up room 51 weeks out of the year..... :mo money:I can think of much better places to put money. Bushtec prices are nutzo!!

You have a great looking scoot Brad. Other than the lighter colored gold they're pretty much the same and seem to have just about the same tinsel hanging on them. This one had highway pegs on it, but I let the seller keep them. They were those ringed pegs with the funky clamp. Ebay=$25 bucks. I have a nice set of Kuryakyns with the offset mounts and magnum clamps for it. Much nicer. With my long legs highway pegs are mandatory for any long distance riding.... -

Thanks for finding that Brad. I guess there is another color combo available in '91 that isn't on the list, because this one sure doesn't have anything blue in it. And I guess it isn't a repaint.... -
I don't buy it. I don't care what the parts cost. Ever consider what the parts and materials cost to build an enclosed tandem axle 6x12 cargo trailer? A custom axle for $750 bucks...gimme a break. Bushtec's are so way over priced it's rediculous, but if you want to buy into the name association so be it. I think those that do buy into it are also into Jordach and IZOD.

Still more than triple what it should retail for....

Yeah, I thought so too Don, but dang it's a nice job if it is. I can't find a blem anywhere....so far.... No runs, no drips, no errors... It's definately a one'r... -
Finally got the 91VR home this afternoon. There was some question about the black/gray paint scheme being the original color. I thought it was probably a repaint since evey other 91 I've seen....I think??... is dk.blue on lt.blue. So tell me what you think... The tag on the frame member is gone so I couldn't get the manufacture date. The bike still needs a lot of TLC, but nothing that can't be handled. I think it might have been a Venture Line display bike with all the chrome hanging off of it. The only ding in the plastic is below the right mirror. Luckly it's in the black paint and easy to repair and touch up. I'm looking forward to making it a show piece. Corbin seat and backrest, chrome radiator cover, polished out risers and passenger floorboards, polished out engine covers, woodgrained dash and ignition cover, and lots of Lemon Pledge. Engine runs strong, and brakes and clutch are good. WoooHooo!!!!

There's gotta be something wrong with that..... $3000 for a pull behind MC trailer??? Heck I bought my used 26' Terry travel trailer with Forced air heat and AC/ Fridge/ micro/oven/ stereo/ etc.ect. for $4500 in mint condition. Somewhere along the line this pull behind trailer pricing thing has gotten outta wack........ Somebody's laughing all the way to the bank....with a mask on.....

I have a Markland I picked up from Squidly about a year ago for $65 bucks that I no longer have a need for if anyone's interested. You'll have to make the side struts out of flat stock. Supposed to fit the 83-85.
-
Instead of copying the Markland hitch with the flat mounting plate and permanently mounted ball, ask if he could design one with a receiver. The '91VR I'm picking up tomorrow has a receiver so it can be done. I'll take pics of it and post if anyone's interested.....

Bike kicked, brackets bent - what is with people today?

A hundred years ago they would have hung the SOB. Now days they send them to a shrink to find their inner soul, understanding, and put them on welfare. The really sad part is they survive and reproduce.... -
Never got one pop up. ??? But then I couldn't navagate anywhere either. I think the thing is designed more for the sports tourer than for a bagger. What a pain trying to get the thing on and off the bike.....

Yep. there's an ebay seller who has been running 1stGen Jardine's for about the last 6 months or so. He probably bought out the remainder of Jardine's stock. Lists them one at a time. You might try contacting him about picking up a set directly. They usually sell for around $250 a set.

Mike, our family did Alaska last year in May. Went on the MercuryX a Celebrity Cruise Ship for 7 days. They're kinda 'old style' cruising and your Mom may like that. Same time for dinner, same table members. Most of the towns visited are smallish and fairly easy to get around in. If your looking for a little more excitement I'd recommend taking Norwegian Cruise Lines freestyle. Lot's more to do on board, many different eating venues. We did the Caribian on NCL about 4 years ago and had a blast. You don't need to go thru a travel agent as all cruise lines are set up to book on line and have a wealth of info on their sites.

Dan... You wanna define start!!!! Synthetic oil is a waste of money... Fram oil filters are great... K&N's aren't worth the money. Premium gas is better than regular. There...that aught to keep things cookin'.....:whistling:

They mention the sluggish economy. They'd better hold on to their shorts, it's gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets any better. Harley is sitting in a very precarious position. Full inventory pipelines, reluctance of dealers to order, and the buying public not having the confidence to purchase anything that isn't an absolute neccesity. Competition is gonna get tough.......
