    The RSTD's have a 5 gallon tank, and I also think they have one in Black Cherry, only a different year... if I remember correctly. Tried checking the history section, but I didn't see a black cherry listed in TD colors???

    I've had one of the senior life time's since '08, but have only used it going thru and around Yellowstone in '09 and '11. Cost$10 bucks, but don't loose it or they'll get you for another $10....

    I think it all depends on how bad the seller need to get it gone, and what somebodies willing to pony up. I just bought my '04RSMV in mint condition, raised on synthetics, with 65K on the odo for $3000US. What really hurts is after Lone Eagle traded his '05RSTD with all those beautiful graphics in on the Harley the dealer pushed it out the back door for $1900.

    My Grandson is dealing with the same problem. Blown head gasket on my old Suburban that I gave him. 5.7 Vortec with 200K on the odo, and aluminum heads. I haven't wrenched on a 350 Chevy in years and this new headbolt, torque to yield, is new to me. On a bigger engine is this going to be a problem?? He's trying to do it on the cheap. I think we do have him talked into having them surfaced...

    It's a terrible disease that penicillin can't cure. Harbor Freight should be purged from the face of the earth. I still have tools where the price was so good I couldn't pass them up...and they're still sitting in their unopened boxes. I also get bit by old tools... You know, the ones where someone else with the same affliction bought, and never used, and now are in their estate auctions. Boxes of tools that are sitting in dark corners of the garage and forgotten about. Get rid of them??? NEVER!! You never know when you'll need one... if you can find it... and if you can't... it makes perfect sense to go buy a new one...

    If you're talking about the lowers, I've seen pics from a couple of members who have removed them. Doesn't seem to create any problems with airflow, and looks nice. You'll need to McGuiver a few things, but with a little creativity it can be done...

    On 1stGen carbs that are stubborn I usually pry with the wooden handle of a ball peen hammer to get them started. WD40 also helps loosen them up.

    Hey Neal... I had the same problem when I first tried to get insurance on the '99. Everything I had was with State Farm, and they quoted me $800 every six months for just 15/30. After I got the nose to stop bleeding I checked with Progressive and for everything you have hi-lighted the quote was $175 per year. I started breathing easier. Just for the heck of it I also checked Geico and the quote came back at $125 per year. So it was a no brainer. MOF the second year the premium dropped to $95, but in subsequent years it has risen. I now have three 2ndGens insured thru Geico. The '99, 04, and 07. It breaks out to $150, $250, and $350. That includes a trailer, and the Voyager kit on the '04 which didn't effect the premium at all. I'd recommend checking with Geico before doing anything else. J

    We just replaced the fuse block on my son's '83. It had been sitting for a while and the battery was really weak, so I tossed in a 20 from a 2ndGen and with the lower batt profile the block cleared the cover with out having to McGuiver anything...

    Brings back some memories. I bought a '56 2DR/265 in the early '60's..... for $100 bucks. A co-worker had just had it painted and upholstered, and then popped the radiator cap, and scalded the 'H' out of his hand. Then he went to a Friday night party and some jerk hit-n-run side swiped the right rear quarter. He was telling me about it at work and said the first guy with a $100 can have it. I wrote him a check then and there. He brought the 'pink' the next day and I drove it home. Ran and handled great. Couldn't open the passenger door because part of the quarter had bent over the edge of the door, so I took a hammer and beat the cr@p out of offending metal. The door worked fine after the custom body work. My wife drove it back and forth to work for about a year, and one day during the Watts Riots it sprung a leak in the lower radiator hose. She was afraid to stop and when she pulled into the driveway the engine was about 15 seconds from melt down. Snap crackle and pop. I let it cool down over night and added water the next morning. That little 265 never ran the same again. Sold it to my barber for $100 bucks when we moved to NorCal.

    I think they like making these videos to make some of us feel bad. Using this method works great for those that are vertically challenged, but for a lot of us getting our ass down low enough and getting leverage to lift ain't all that easy. It's one thing to lift with legs that are partially bent versus legs that are completely bent. For tall fat guys like me...forget it.... That's why I carry a 6:1 block and tackle and a length of rope in the saddle. Makes picking one up easier....
