  1. I take it you flunked Geography? :think:TENNESSEE is in the south...
  2. I don't know about the neck wraps, but there are a couple of ladies who have come up with something called a "COOL POUCH" that they sell in specialty tennis shops in the Eastern U.S. and Canada. It's made of terry cloth and you put ice in it and hang it around your neck. Cost is $19.95.They are from Knoxville,Tn. They sell them at Jaws Swim Shop and Ceader Bluff Racquet Club. Also online at www.coolpouch.com . You might check them out if you don't find the other.
  3. Yep, evidently the buzzard shot the biker for running over the deer to keep it from being one of those mysterious hit and run accidents. Yep, that's what it was.
  4. All that work has paid off. Looks GREAT!!!!!
  5. It's pretty common around here. Sometimes it happens without the rain. Easy to fix though. Remove the front fairing and follow the wire from the controller until you find the connection plug. Disconnect it and put it back together several times. This will clean the pins. Then before you put it together for the last time put some dilectric grease on the pins and see if that works. If not, then the controller has shorted out and will have to be replaced. Since you have a 99, check to see if you can find one on e-bay or if someone has one off a wreck.
  6. I'd like to go but it's in the middle of the week and I don't have enough vacation days left to work it in. Now if it had a weekend day I would be there for at least 1 day.
  7. A little tip as to when you find yourself in that situation. Look around for some loose gravel and dry tree bark or small twigs. Mix them together and spread it under the tires and make a trail to firm ground. It has worked for me a few times to give traction to get out of those situations.
  8. If we had some kind of idea as to what their sightseeing itenerary would be we can have things set up to have some personal tour guides in place to show them around. A few months in this country isn't a long time especially if they get lost a few times. Most folks from other countries have no idea just how BIG the U.S. and Canada is. I'm sure there are lots of things they would like to see while they have the chance. Just thinking out loud.
  9. I had an uncle who was an auto mechanic and he taught me that the fluid levels should be the same as driving." KEEP THEM BETWEEN THE LINES". I've always done that and not had any problems with cars or bikes.
  10. We'll pray for your full recovery Don.
  11. Do ya hear that Mini? You can even pick em up on your way through...
  12. I'd keep one eye open Boomer...I think Don still has those Whips,Chains, and Cuffs stored for Mini and the gals in the garage.....
  13. I, myself have been tryin to decide on weather to buy one or just convert mine into a JET SKI.
  14. I have an old 79 GL1000. Nice bike with Vetter fairing and bags. It needs a lot of work done to it, like coils, tires, fork seals, and some other things to get it running. I just don't have enough time to hunt up the parts and do the work on it just now. Does that count? I also worked with a guy we called Wingnut. He could get turned all the way around in a cross wind.
  15. Keepin em going up for a quick recovery...
  16. Prayers for a good report.
  17. Sounds Great Annie !!! Just let Renne and Dan do the jigs and don't go tryin to kick any ROOS. Let it heal and you'll be good as new. Prayers for a quick recovery process.
  18. Sounds Great:happy65:, but there goes the satalite recieving. Hope you got cable? Just remember to take it easy for a while until it gets healed good.
  19. Prayers on the way for a speedy recovery.
  20. The Devils Triangle is residential. Hwy 62 is being 4 laned and so it is rough in places with construction equipment running all along there. 116 is the long leg of the route. It's also residential but has hills and curves. The old Brushy Moutain State pen is on the left coming from hwy 62. Not as sharp of curves as the Dragon but scenic in places. There is a coal mine on the North East end so watch out for the BIG coal trucks. Hwy 25 from Lake City to Clinton is a slow leisure ride with plenty of traffic. Not a bad ride if you can tolerate these things.
  21. I know this probably sounds stupid cause I think that you guys are too smart to overlook this, but do you have grease on the ball and reciever. If so what kind. I don't pull a trailor with my bike but I do with my truck. I generally keep the ball and reciever greased with a little dielectric grease cause as someone mentioned before the hitch is part of the ground circuit. It keeps the rust from building up on the ball and inside the reciever.
  22. CONGRATS with the expectation!!!! My little woman craved ICEE's, and in 1976 there wasn't but 1 way to carry 1 on a bike.
  23. Prayers for strength and quick recoveries for all those involved.
  24. I just spotted this on my local bike club forum. http://www.knoxvillebikerally.com They think it's to replace the Honda Hoot which was cancled last year due to the economy down turn.
  25. Used to have 1 on my key ring, but the darn thing wouldn't stay closed and kept sticking me in the leg. 76-78 Army.
