  1. Great job on the safe stop! Glad to hear that there was only a minor injury. Hopefully it will heal quickly and everything will work out with getting the bike fixed.
  2. Tell Bob that Get Well Wishes and Preyers are going up from here also.
  3. The kids with 4 wheelers do it every night. They hit every station in town. I usually try to wait later in the day and I watch the person ahead of me to see if they drain it or not.
  4. Well, as for the #s starting before the gas, the reason is that the customer before them is turning off the pump then draining the hose. There's actually about quart left in the hose after the handle is released. All you have to do is to replace the handle back into the holder to turn off the pump then remove the handle put it back in the filler neck and squeeze the handle until the hose is empty. I've had this happen a lot to me.
  5. Don, I think that everyone on here knows that you have worked on this site for years. Adding this, changing that, deleting the other. Take your time buddy, you'll get it back like it was in due time. Get you some rest and work on it a little at a time and it'll be as good if not better than it was. Thanks for all you do Bill
  6. I know that you trust paypal, but my checks are good. I'll chip in!
  7. My byline says it......
  8. I've worked for an Eastern Railroad for 29 years and we have a little saying that goes, "Intelligence and common sense will not be tolerated in the railroad industry". The ones who make up the rules that we have to work by have never seen the outside of their office. The ones who do come around and watch how we do our job still don't have any idea as to what we are doing. That's a nice BBQ they have going there....Makes me wonder if they remembered to bring the steaks.
  9. Sounds like a very close one for you guys. Glad that you 2 were out of the way when they came through. Your guardian angel was on the job.
  10. Before I bought my 05 Midnight, I had only seen 2 of them and I wanted to find out more about the bike and it's characteristics. I searched around and happened upon VR.Org. After reading and seeing how the members not only helped all who came along, but had become a huge family with all the fun jibs back and forth as brothers and sisters do in a family, I was just hooked. Thanks Don for building the best family on the net.
  11. Thoughts and preyers going out to Mark's family and friends in this time of sorrow.

  16. :LIME:This is the site for Fun, Food, and Frolic!!! Just jump right in and don't worry about being long winded. You'll need to be at times. Don't let those OLD Codgers with those OLD BIKES get to ya. They claim that they're faster but we all know the truth....So WELCOME and glad you're here. Tell the wife not to be shy about gettin on cause she'll meet and get to know a great bunch of ladies on here also.

  19. Hey Jeff, I didn't mean it in a bad way. I hear Gene's a gracious host and loves company. He just wants to make sure we stop by on our way through.
  20. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger there Charlie. I've been on that kind of meds for the last several years and it's a real bummer. I lived a long time with a cold one in my hand and then all at once it's gone. Took a while to get used to not having one....Sure was rough for a while. It just took a while to figure out that I could still have fun without it. I'm sure that the Family here will give you all the support you could ask for to make the change over to the soft stuff.....
  21. It's not you guys hitting the kill switch, it's Gene. What you all don't know about him is that he's Telekinetic.....He gets the feeling when a Venture Rider is near and he does his thing and flips the switch off and kills your bike. You know you didn't do anything wrong so you start looking for something technical. You eventually have to call him for his help. He does this just so noone comes to his town without stopping to visit . He's kinda sneaky about it.
  22. ECK's awake, he's just tryin to scrounge up enough metal to build a trailor for a FULL sized keg.....LOL
  23. He woulda flunked out of our Motorcycle Safety Course..........He had to come to a complete stop just to pull his shooter and fire it.:rotfl:
  24. Brad, It's a good thing that your's and Lonna's lucky stars were lined up just right. That things a mess. As for the tire... I've got Commanders on mine. They've been good tires but I remember while putting them on the wheel that they went on too easy. They really didn't fit the rim as tight as I thought they should. I'll soon have to replace them and I'm much considering looking at a different brand.
  25. Hey Frogman, I have seen security systems at wally-world that consists of a monitor and cameras that arn't very expensive. If you can Hook it up to a recorder you would have them. Just hide it well enough that they can't find and steal it too.
