Radio control stayed on when bike turned off
Nighthawk II replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
Sounds about like what happened to my 05 not long after I bought it. Took it to the dealer and they checked it and said that somehow water had gotten into the control head and shorted it out. It would play sometimes and sometimes it wouldn't. I had already checked all the connectors before taking it to them. -
UH......Now what were you all tryin to sell????

I have the same problem. When ever I ride without gloves my fingers get so numb that I can't feel the controls. So I tried using gloves that you can get at any bike shop, but it still was there. While in Panama City Beach at the Ralley I bought and tried a pair of Qwi nerve protection gloves, and since then I've had no problems.Their website is www.QwiNerveProtector.com If you want to check them out. It just might help you stay out riding for a longer ride.

Congrats Cindy, Dale, and Haylie!!!!!!! The power of prayer works and even more so in numbers. I'm glad it's over and the healing is begining.

Yes Dan. Small fitting is low side. Once you connect the line with the can of freon, roll your window down to where you can put your hand in front of the vent to feel if the unit is starting to cool. only add enough to make it as cold as it was when new. Over charging will blow your compressor.

Road Trip - Help me get Miss Venture home!
Nighthawk II replied to GaThumper's topic in Watering Hole
One of the guys in our riding club had the same wear pattern on his bike and when he had it checked, found out that it was caused by riding on mostly straight roads and hiways. The taper of the asphalt caused the sides to wear more than the middle. After he started riding on our crooked southern roads the tires wore more evenly. But to be on the safe side you might still have it looked at. Depending on what time you leave there and how good of time you make, I would guess that you should make it into my area about 10 or 11am. If you have any problems just give a shout. -

My laptop case is about 16.5 x14 and it lays flat in the bottom of the tour box on back with a little room to spare around the edges. -

Hwy 27 from Stearns, Ky. to Lancing,Tn. is my work shop. I drive that road every day. If you take it easy and not get too frisky on the straights, sharp turns at the ends of most of them, you can run the road in 3rd and 4th gears easily. The pavement is good and the curves are slightly banked but not enough for speeds much greater than the speed limits. There's some more twists between Wartburg and Harriman, but not any worse than the rest. Going to Spring City will keep you out of the heavier traffic that you will have in Lenoir City and all of it's red lights. 68 from Spring City will take you right to the center of Sweetwater where all the resturants are if you are ready for a stop. Then on to Tellico Plains. I live in Oneida,Tn. and my phone # is on the assistance list and my profile. Ride Safely -
Yes, It's absolutely possible....There's actually people on this forum that's done so much, with so little, for so long, that they are now qualified to do anything with nothing. Just ask any 1st Gen. rider!!!

The handgun is already available...S&W 500 Magnum. The MOST powerful handgun in the world. It's an 18" long cannon.

I have found that when I need to park mine in gear, If I pull in the clutch and hold a little front brake and just bump the starter, then most of the time neutral is easier to find. Evidently that lets the pressure off of the gear box. I rarely rock mine back and forth.

Yep, It's a great place to visit. We usually stay at the Chateau, right on the beach. I like the ralley there with the way they spread the vendors out. You don't have all the people in one small area. You can actually get around to see what is there without being gouged and pushed around.

Mines been sittin in the bank since the middle of Feb. waitin on the end of this month when I go to Panama City Beach for the Thunder on The Beach Ralley. Yep, it's gonna be a fun time this year...

The attitude and mentality of the people of MB is the reason that If I want to go to the beach, I go to Savannah. I was once offered a night in a jail cell by a cop because I was sitting on a bench on the boardwalk. Evidently he didn't like the Thunder on the Beach shirt I was wearing at the time. Never going back.

What make of vehicle do you have? Fords are notorious for a dry rocker. It sounds just like a belt squeel. My 2003 Ranger did this and I changed 4 belts before I found out about it. Sea Foam in the oil will quieten it down in a while.

I just wonder how far in reverse you would go when you let those bad boys loose?

Prayers sent up for a quick recovery for Pete and strength for the family. -
I can see that you're new here and I'll say that it takes a while to learn to navigate the site. Try looking in the Accessary section. If you don't find what you need there, try 1 of the Tech Talk sections. If you still don't find what you need, Just ask. There are some really knowledgable folks here that will jump right in and help. If you can wait a while you can go to Freebirds Maintenance day get together and there'll be plenty of help to put it all together. BTW Welcome to the site.

Around here where I live, downshifting is a necessary for control on the hills and curves, especially on the hills with curves in them. I've ridden since forever and haven't hurt a bike or cage yet doin it.
