In the door and out again 15 mins. No one was there but it took the little blue haired lady about 10 mins to find my name in the book. She wouldn't allow anyone to help her look.

Sounds like you've bought the hospital a new wing. Did they name it after you or the Dr.? They always seem to get the credit for your

Oooooh yes, I've got a degenerating L-5 vertibrae with a slightly bulging disk. It is painful. It to is right at my beltline and effects the siatic nerve that goes from the spine and down the legs (the walking on tacks feeling).I have tried the epideral shots and physical theropy (exercises for the lower back). The theropy seems to help the most. The shots were a series of three and the effect only lasted about 3 days. Sometimes the pain was so bad that it was very difficult to even lay in one position for any time at all. Driving was almost impossible for any distance. I have a series of exercies that I do as often as I can to help to keep the pain tolerable so I can go to work. Best advise I can give is to see an Ortopedist to get a correct diagnosis.

Be glad that she's knitting. All my navigator wants to do is TALK. Talk, talk, talk. Most of the time I don't even know what she's talking about. She even changes the subject in mid sentence without even taking a breath. There have been times when I've wanted to take a break and when she goes into a store.....well I haven't done that yet cause she's just so darn cute....

I was wonderin where you went to...Hate to hear about the pain, so I'll shoot off a word upstairs for a quick recovery for ya....GWS

Hey Jim! Welcome to the neighborhood....I'm originally from K-Town but I live in Oneida now, That's just about 60 miles North of Knoxville on the Tn./Ky. state line. If you go through Oak Ridge to Oliver Springs then to Wartburg on Hwy62, you will then take 27 on up to Oneida. The old home place is in the Sutherland Ave. West High area. Where abouts do you call home? I belong to a Riding Club there, but I don't get to visit much account of my job. If you are looking for some good folks to ride with just come down to Beef-O-Brady's At Turkey Creek on a Wed Night. Just tell them that Bill sent you down and they will welcome you right in. There are some members who ride Ventures and R* amoung other brands, some are members here but don't visit the site as often as I do. If I can ever get sprung from this place maybe we can get together for an eye to eye. The colors are really coming out up here so you need to take a ride and check em out anyway. My # is on the assist. list so give a yell sometime.

That's why I like my sat. TV. They play a lot of those on the classic channels. I just wish that they would play some of the old saturday morning serials.

What ever you Texans decide to do, wether you run and hide from the storm or party down like Gene would do, remember to let the rest of us know how you faired in the storm. Y'all stay safe, what ever you decide.

HEY Squidley, Do you have or make a PILLOW TOP to Schwinn bracket? :rotfl:Don just might be lookin for 1 soon.

I totally agree. Politics and other controversal subjects don't belong here. I come here to visit with friends and neighbors to find out whats happening in their area that's connected to riding. I have no urge to know what their affiliation, political or otherwise, is. You moderators do a very good job keeping an eye on things and I for 1 appreciate what you do. THANKS for what you do.

Man, that's really a let down Gene. Hanna poofed out on you and Ike changed directions to where you don't even have a back up. I don't think Mother Nature was very fair with you after all the preparing you went through. I'd be T'd too. I've never known a city gov. to do anything that makes scents any way. You'd think they would at least wait long enough to see if a curfew was really needed. Oh well, we're glad to know that all our east coast Bros and sisters are all okay, even thoug there wasn't any cherry pie.

Dale, I'm sending up more prayers for you and your family for strength and healing.

Sounds like some snowstorms I've been caught in, except without the surfboards. The ice came from outside though and that was no problem.

One of these days I'm gonna have to come over and join you for one of those Hurricane parties, Gene. They sound as if they could be quite interesting...Hmmm, High winds.Hot winds and guns. It could get more dangerous than the storm...HEEHEE:thumbsup2:
-
Yeah, I didn't think you all would be too worried about Hanna. She'll probably be a lot of rain and a little wind. I hope and pray that Ike looses his strength before he get's there. BTW, I have a brother who lives in Beaulaville. He's a County Sheriff's Deputy and a City Officer there. Sgt.on both forces. So you all put on your rain bonnets and we'll pray for no damage for you all.

It usually takes me a full block to make a U-turn.... I'm never in that big of a hurry. BTW, if you take the long way, it's more fun per mile....

Hey, with Hanna drawing a bead on the N.C. coast I was wondering if Gene was getting ready for the storm? I know it's a tropical storm, but the winds are still about 65mph. I was just wondering about him and Beer 24/7 since they are in the projected area of land fall. If anyone hears from them please let us know. And if anyone else is in that area let us know about them also.

Anyone carry spare key on cycle?
Nighthawk II replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have a bad habit of locking them in the truck. So I always carry the spare in my pocket. I've got two keys for everything and when I go out I just pick up two sets of what I'm gonna drive and put a set in each pocket. -
Well, It's been done by this bunch before. You just never know how many states it will visit before it gets there:think:...That's a loooong way.
-
I've been given that HD line many times. I just answer them with a short, sweet line..."I've ridden for most of my life, and I've ridden ALL brands. I know what kind of bike that I want to ride".

I have to agree with Juggler. Do all you can to deter them first.Outside lights. A good security system, especially one that can be set even while you're at home. Glass breakage alarms, in case they deside to come in that way. Lights that come on inside when the alarm is triggered. Have it monitored by a reputable company. If you've never shot anyone, it's a difficult thing to do even if your family is threatened. If you hesitate it's their game, they will win every time. If you do go with the gun and you don't have any experience with one, by all means take a gun safety course. Go to the range as often as you can and practice all you can.

Time to grease Clutch Hub Drive Pins
Nighthawk II replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
While I was discussing this with the guy, he said the problem actually is a result of Tourque twist. The rear end has a tendancy to twist under acceleration tourque. No matter how easy you try to accelerate it will happen. They know about this and will fix it as long as your warrenty is in effect. -
Time to grease Clutch Hub Drive Pins
Nighthawk II replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have just had my tires changed at the dealer. I ask to have the spline greased while it was apart. The S/M said that there is a S/B out on the creaking noise in the rear drive and that they would take care of it .The T/B# is M2005-015 dated 10/20/2005. This falls under warrenty. It basically involves realignment of the rear drive while the rear tire is removed. This also includes the tour deluxe. I have a copy of the S/B,but I can't scan it to put it on here.
