Uuummm...News Flash... The blue ones are the fastest..... -
All this stuff is, is overpriced clearcoat. It will cover the scratches as long as they are only on the clearcoat. If the scratch goes to the metal, it will just fill in the area and you will still see the scratch....So says Consumers Report....

I bet you would gain 20HP if you put new ones in..........

A different coolant leak
davecb replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I had a leak. It was toward the front on the right side. Now.. I am an avid..Let the dealer fix it under warranty kind of guy..Why should I do there job for them for free.. I saw where the leak was coming from. Under the finned engine covers on the right side in the front. I had it hauled to the dealer. They pulled the fake fins off and determined it was the rubber plug behind it. Now, they left the cover off, overnight, while waiting for a new plug to come in. When they came to work the next morning, the floor under the bike was covered in coolant. The mechanic told me this, so I questioned him about it. He said the plugs just push in with your fingers...no tools needed,, But he didn't know that, so it was a learning experience for him. So, if you take the fake fins off, and let it sit overnight, your chances of a big leak are great. I had to wait a week for q $9.00 part, but I didn't have to put up with the bull of having to figure it out on my own. After my warranty runs out, I will know what to expect and won't get any surprises. My advice to all is...If it's under warranty, have the dealer fix it. If you fix it and something goes wrong..They may hold you liable, and your out a chunk of change.... -
Uuummm...didn't your bike come with a manual?? I think thats why they make them for cars and motorcycles...So you know how to operate it... Good luck with headsets...The more you pay for them, the better they will sound...

I believe the correct wording is: I felled 5 trees...:stirthepot:

I received a letter saying my bike had the head problem. If I remember correctly, it had to do with the amount of torque on the bolts. Any dealer should be able to run your VIN to see if your bike was affected and, if it was, was the repair done on it.... The regional service manager covers AL, GA and FLA. Not sure if more than that. It used to be Al Harper, and he was a super guy to deal with. Don't know what the new one is like...Evidently not too good. Al Harper was moved to the HQ as a Venture Guru for all the other regional managers to talk to when they had a question...

Hippo Hands, warm chaps, snow plow for bike& snow tires.......
davecb replied to a topic in Riding Gear
Electric gloves are the way to go. Tourmaster are the cheapest. If you shop around you can get them cheaper. Wingstuff had them for $179.00.... With the Hippo Hands, you are still gripping a cold grip, and the cold radiates from the handlebars... -
It appears they did not fix it correctly. I would call Yamaha, and see what they can do about it. Or ask your service department for the regional managers phone number and call him....

Everybody says to reverse the pads. Everything I have ever been taught, is to never do that. The friction always going in one direction, and then when you reverse that friction, could result in the pad exploding....

Dennis, whatever you do...DO NOT get Direct TV. I had them for 1 1/2 years, and all they did was try to screw me over. It took me calling the BBB in California to get them straightened out....

I've done that on my Venture a couple times. The hardest part was getting it into reverse....:whistling::whistling:
