Question, Valve Adjustments
davecb replied to DanC's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Here the price for valve adjustment is $260.00. I will be needing it in a few monthe, and I will have it done. This is for the warranty, and also to make sure that they were set right from the factory... Peace of mind is a great thing...- 16 replies

When I went to replace my tires with Elite 3's, the dealer had them on sale. Their sale price was still high. I told the guy at the parts counter that I could get then cheaper at a lot of different places. He said, Where? I said all the motorcycle mags had them cheaper. He said name one. I said that even JP Cycles had them cheaper. He went to their website, and yes, they were cheaper than their's that were on sale. About that time the parts manager walked by, and he showed him the difference in prices.. I got the set of tires for the JP Cycle price...

It's still under warranty. Your dealer can tell you if the basket has been replaced. If you have a chirping sound, especially aroung 50-55 MPH, then you may need it replaced. However, I have never heard of a Tour Deluxe needing it....

Another winter storage question
davecb replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Is there perhaps a breeze blowing on the bike from a crack in the garage door, allowing it to get colder than the mower? It could be possible that the warming of the day would cause the condensation to form. If I were you, I would switch the position off the bike with the mower.... -
Yup, i wouldn't take the trade. If it has never been rebuilt, it will need to be. I think this gut knows what is worth, or what he can't sell it for, so he is trying to get over on you. Harley or not..I wouldn't do it. Now, if it was an old Triumph, BSA or Norton in great condition...Inna Heartbeat...

Also: It is best to hook up the ground cable to the bike itself...Not the battery...

Yup... You gotta ask..What the US is turning into. California's Supreme court just made a decision saying that illegal immigrents kids can get a college education for the same price as residents. I'll be glad when the big quake happens, and California disappears.... Hope this ain't too political...
