1988 Venture Royale. Two questions: 1. The 1200 Mk I (83, 84, 85) Venture rotors. Will these fit my 1988 VR Mk II? I suspect not, but please let me know for sure. 2. Are the left and the right rotors on the Mk II (86-93) VR interchangeable? Thanks in advance. Nick Diaz Middletown, MD

I need some input from the Harley guys here. I've been offered a 1988 Ultra Classic as trade for an item I have for sale. It appears to be in good cosmetic condition but I have no solid experience with Harleys. This would be strictly for turn over. I really don't have any desire to own a Harley except for profit. I guess I need to know whether this bike has any mechanical flaws and if it has a viable value this coming spring and what that value 'might' be. Thanks

Just sealed the deal on a brand new used 1988 Venture Royal, The previous owner had ha headlight problen and couldn't figgure it our....All other lights work as they should........Any ideas on what might be wrong.

1988 Venture Royale. The pull throttle cable on the VR broke at the handlebar pivot. How difficult is it to replace it? Any special tools? Any words of advice? I won't have time to get into it until Tuesday, so any words from you 1st-gen experts will be welcome. Thank you in advance. just purchesed a 1988 royal I am new to yamaha and dont know to much about them. new to internet to so my spelling will be bad. after riding for a couple days, the rpm drop to o when I am setting at a red light and it starts back firing. Give it some gas and it runs fine. It runs fine downd the road no missing or back fireing. could this be the diaphram in the carb or could it be electical. where can I find a service for it.I have been reading alot of the threads on this sight and sure helps I am glad I joined. thanks Motorhead 704 -

I have a 1988 Venture that was lowered, Good for us Short Guys, but bad on bike lean. Does anyon have a shorten side stand they are willing trade or sell, if not need to find local welder.
