I am planning to be there 12- 19 of Oct. I normally see 10 to 15 Ventures there each year, but we have never gotten together as a group before. It sure would be nice if we could get to gather for lunch or a ride some times during the week. Each year on Friday, they do a ride to the Family Place for lunch. It would be great if all the Venture Riders coud do that. Earl
  3. If there is no coolant in the oil, I will go with Jerry’s thoughts on maybe a crack in the head. I have seen a crack from an oil pressure point to a water port, when the engine was operated at high RPMs the oil pressure would force oil into the coolant. Earl
  4. Yes, I have used a set of Accels that had about 8K ohms. They have been on my 86 for about 30k miles and doing good. Earl:thumbsup2:
  5. Have you checked to see if there is coolant in the engine oil? Earl
  6. We are getting 30 to 40 MPH wind gusts and some rain, but it’s not bad at all and I think the worst has passed. Earl
  7. That's good news. Earl:parrots:
  8. Be careful not to get brake fluid on the paint! Earl
  9. Some whine a lot more than others, keep looking and I am sure you can find one that the whine is only a whisper. Earl
  10. I was in Sam’s Club last week and they had the Rotella T Syn. 5w40 on sale, three gal box for 27.74. I got 21 gals for less than $10.00 a gal. I have been running Rotella 15w40 for the last 50K, but I will now be running the 5w40 Syn for the next 100K. Earl
  11. Make sure the brake fluid level is correct. If the master cylinder is too full, the calipers can not release. Earl
  12. Sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers are sent for you and your family. I pray that during this time you and your family will grow a lot tighter to each other and to the Big Guy. Earl
  13. I don’t know for sure, but I would estimate we got about an inch. South and West of us got a flood. We may get some more tonight. Earl
  14. The 1800 GW gets better MPG than the 1500 GW. I would think a 1900 V4 with fuel injection would do as well as our 1300 with carbs. Earl
  15. I washed the bearing out with a can of spray carburetor cleaner. I let it dry and then I repacked it with wheel bearing grease. Earl
  16. I hope the rain will move on up to NC by tomorrow and you can have a dry ride over to Arkansas. We could sure use some rain. Earl
  17. I thought the southern most part of the Blue Ridge Parkway ended in Cherokee NC. You are correct about that. Earl:thumbsup2:
  18. A new one is about $350.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Earl
  19. A bad pressure sensor can drop your mileage 2 to 3 miles a gallon. ffice:office" /> Earl

  22. I got home about 3:30 PM Sunday. I had a great time and thanks to every one that helped make it a great weekend. Earl
  23. Are you sure you have it on reserve? It sounds like your reserve system is not working. I would pull the tank off of the bike, put it on reserve and drain all the fuel out. I would then remove the petcock and see how much gas was left in the tank. I think you have a bad petcock. Earl
