  2. Hi Bill, I just bought one and waiting for it to arrive. Hope I can get it put on next week. Earl Ebay Ola7916 86 VR 00 RSV
  3. I never transferred the warranty from the original owner to me. I have a friend that works at a Yamaha Dealer near me and he said that all he needed was the ser # of the bike. They replaced the shock under warranty and I didn’t even have to sign the bill. It worked for me, but it may not work for you. If you want to transfer it to your name, you will have to go to a Yamaha Dealer in the US and get them to inspect the bike and if all is well, they can send in the paper work to get it transferred. The charge to do this varies from dealer to dealer. Earl 86 VR 00RSV
  4. An exhaust system leak will cause a backfire if the RPMs drop quickly. Earl 86 VR 00 RVS
  5. I agree with Curtis, anything less than 30' will get too hot. I checked with Radio Shack today and they have kynar insulated wrapping wire, 30 gauge in 50' rolls. The price is $3.95 per 50' (15.2m) roll and the part # is 278-503. For a vest or coat I would suggest using a length of 32' to 34'. Earl 86 VR 00 RSV
  6. I got my 30 gauge teflon coated wire from Radio Shack, I think it was about $8.00. That was three three years ago. Earl
  7. In this case cheaper is better. I have run 87 to 93 octane and I get just as good mileage with the 87. I have tried this with my 86 VR and 00 RSV. Earl
  8. I have two pair of the Sliders. They are what I call full cut (baggy) jeans. I am 5'6" and 235, so baggy is good. Earl
  9. 12 volts applied to a 30 foot long, 30 ga. wire, will give you 48 watts of heat. This works good for a vest. Earl 86 VR 00 RSV
  10. I plan to be in Mena for the CMA Changing Of The Colors Rally, 17th-21st of Oct. I aways try to ride 88 over to OK. It is a great ride. If you can, stop by and check out the rally. There will be over two thousand riders there. Earl CMA 86 VR 00RSV
  11. On the first set of 404, I got 14K on the rear and 21K on the front. I replaced the 404 s with me 880s. They were good for 18K on the rear and 23K on the front. I just put a new set of 404s on last week. I went with the 130/90 on the front. I bike handles much better with 130/90 on the front. I went with the 404s because I got a deal on them, $142 shipped to the door. Earl
