  1. Mel and I arrived back at our homes around 7pm. The ride home was safe and pleasant. We had a wonderful weekend!! Thanks to Freebird, V7Goose, Squidley, Morph, Ponch, and more that I can't think of now. (kinda tired)
  2. Thanks Kevin, We are trying to make it in time for V7goose's carb demo. I would guess that we would be on 80 at elkhart around 10am ish(EDT). would love to ride with you guys!!! BOO, Stardbog, IHtruckguy, Cupcake, any of you coming through friday? Anyone else? My cell phone # is in my profile, and I have my Zumo hooked up so I can take calls when rideing now, so call me.
  3. Congrats!!!! It sounds like you had a wonderful FAMILY weekend. Those are the BEST!!!
  4. Thanks Squidley!!! I am very excited about the weekend!!!
  5. We are planning on leaving the Schaumburg area on friday morning at 6:30. Anyone else heading that way? We would love to join up with others for the ride!!
  6. You guys have a safe trip!!! Looking forward to seeing you again at Don's!!!
  7. Kent, I would VERY much love to see the this carb work done. I wish it could be my bike done, but it scares me to go that deep into the bike while 6hrs away from home with no other transportation. I will try to adjust our scheduled departure so we can be there by noon to see this work. ( a 2pm start would be helpful.) i am excited to watch, and excited to be at MX day, and excited to see old and new friends, and Did I Say that I am EXCITED!
  8. I like it!!! The spoiler leds are not bright enough IMHO. Bottom line though---- If you two like it then "It's All Good!"
  9. hey guys! I'm always up for food and bikes!! I live in Hanover Park, and also have a carb tune. unfortunately I will be out of town for most of the next two weeks. I will be going to mx day. I would love to slip in a meet and eat, and plan on leaving friday morning for Don's. anybody rideing that way then? Back to the thread-- sorry!!!! I would love to help you tune your carbs. pm me or call my # in the members list. we need to do more local stuff!!
  10. Thanks Bill and team!!! I am trying to figure out my schedule and that will help!
  11. Morph, I am interested in seeing how they work, and maybe buying a set. Thanks for bringing them along. I will look forward to meeting you!!
  12. I have the standard illinois IPASS. It works every time when I put in the pocket of my hopnell tank bib. I have not tried other locations because the tank pocket works well for me. I have heard from other riders that you can also put it in the trunk and it will work.
  13. Rick, I have no problem with you doing it, but you might want to line up some helpers so you can socialize too. My seats, that you modified, are great, so I don't need it done. If anyone wants to try mine out at MD, just ask me, always happy to promote a GOOD mod. You should also bring along a bunch of those seat thumb screws. They are Fantastic. I look forward to meeting you!!!
  14. Thanks for donateing this to the site!!! I do not need the jacket, but will gladly BUMP this back to the top. Thanks again for your generosity.
  15. Dan, VERY sorry to hear about your jobs!! I can't believe you sold the black cherry. My heart goes out to you two. I will offer you a ride on the back of my 99 to maint. day if you want. I promise to give you LESS crap about it than everyone else! Seriously though, I would be happy to have you along. (Unless, oh course, you have a job and a new bike by then.) I find that giveing something up many times results in something even better comeing you way. I hope that comes true for you and Lina. Hang in there brother!
  16. I have been using a set on my RSV for 2 years now. I have ride on in the tires. No problems. They work great for a quick check before every ride. Occasionally I use the guage to get a proper check.
  17. I got the seat nuts and bag bolts when Rick did my seats. I have not tried the bag bolts yet, but the seat nuts are fantastic!!!!! There are 2 bolt studs sticking straight down at the front of the seat - one on each side. They usually take a small 10mm socket or wrench to remove the nuts. (If they are still there.)
  18. A very common place for the switch, if it has one, is beside the cigarrete lighter type accessory plug on the left side of the fairing. When I got my used 99, the switch was bad and simply needed replaced. Congrats on the new bike!!!!
  19. I just booked a room on monday the 9th, at the Obrlin Inn. I think she had 1 room left. Can't wait for it to get warm. Hard to believe that it will be HOT by then. I'm getting excited!!
  20. Where and what time are we meeting up? I will be there sometime before noon. 10am is a good target for me but I will probably be late to my own schedule. I would love to meet some fellow members, but if I don't know where or who ?????
  21. I will be going saturday. Looking forward to meeting up with you Dan, and who ever else shows up!
  22. It probably would have. I also did a bad job with the base coat because it was too cold in the garage. I should have been more patient and waited for a warmer day. I will probably redo it because I like the color, and it does not reflect as bad as chrome.
  23. That is the aux wire that goes to my MP3 player.
