I put shorter screws on mine and then stuck a piece of electrical tape over each one. No more scratches.

Thanks Don!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a wonderful time. Learned a bunch. Met more neat people than I can remember names? My friend Mel was very impressed with our VR "family", and has already told me several times how much fun he had. Maybe someday he'll see the light. The meal was fantastic! I can't think of any way to improve it. It was good food, and easy. The best thing of all was meeting all of you "Crazy People"! And I mean that in the nicest way!!!! Too many people I know just get too Serious. Sometimes it's good to just have fun! Thanks for the fun!!!!

are you going to maintenance day? $90 + actual shipping is my lowest. (no handleing fees or anything like that) I don't know about fixing them, but it worked when I took it out.

Carl, Hopefully our group will be at Don's by then, we'll look for you there. My friend Mel will be coming back Sat afternoon, maybe you two could ride together part of the way. There are a bunch coming from your general area. I think I saw a thread on it. Maybe the timing will work for some of them?

Don, Do you have a couple of the straight bars left that I could buy from you at MX day? Or even a piece of the stock so I could make 2 new ones. The bars are ground out just a little too much for mine. It is almost impossible for me to get it back off of the stand. Thanks, and I understand if you are too busy for one more thing before the mob gets there, it's no problem. I can find some stock here, but if you happened to have some just laying there in the way-- -

It is not the way overpriced Yamaha unit, but it is the Clarion aftermarket unit. I understand that it is identical, but don't know for shure. It was working on my bike when I got it (used) but it was not dealer installed. The radio control unit inside the front main fairing has a socket that the c-bus cable of this unit plugs into. You then run the cable back to the trunk, or saddlebag, or whereever you want to install the changer. The cable is the only connection to the unit. It supplies power and control and sound all in 1. Once you plug in the changer unit, CD will come up on the audio system as an option to control the unit just like factory. Hope that helps explain it. It will work on ALL RSV's (2gen)

Okay, Looks like Mel, Stardbog and Lina,and I will be meeting at the Hinsdale Oasis (294) at 7am CDT. We should be in Elkhart at the exit 92 Cracker Barrel by 10am EDT. Hopefully 1hr to eat and gas up and we ride to Ohio. With 1 fuel stop along the way, we should make Amherst Days inn by 3pm. Mel and I will stop there to check in. Everyone else can go to their hotels, and we will all meet at Don's somewhere around 4 ish. See where it is- meet people- plan dinner strategy- and help if needed. All subject to change- of course- but at least a basic timeline in case anyone else is rideing that way around then. Kevin, does 10am to eat and leave work for you? I am excited---- I want to leave now!!!!

Anyone want to buy a Clarion 6CD changer. It came on my 99'RSV and I removed it. I don't listen to CD's when I ride. I will be at Freebird's Maintenance day. I can bring it along if some one wants it. but I don't want to bring it back home. It is complete with the C-Bus cable and everything to make it work on the RSV I would like $100 for it, or make me an offer. It is not doing me any good and someone might enjoy it. I will be listing it again on the classifieds if I still have it after MX day. I will only be bringing it to Don's if someone says they want it - limited space.

I would love to check the valves on mine, or watch it done on someone else's so I can do it at home. 52k miles- it probably needs it. what gaskets are needed to do it? anything else? I cut down my winshield, and it is very easy. would be glad to help with that. Or anything else. I am also interested in colortune and seting carb mixtures. I don't know anything about it, but am eager to learn. I am very excited to meet everyone! What a cool opportunity! Drive safe everyone!!!
