I am also 6'6" tall and have a 36" inseam... I am contemplating putting a shim between the fairing and its upper mount, rotating the fairing a little more vertical, allowing me to rotate the stock bars more upright. Also I might go to Kuryakyn Iso-Grips, and loose the weights on the bars, to shorten them about 2".... I notice it more on my right leg than my left leg, so I might also think about a way to move the rear brake pedal more forward, to lower my thigh in low speed maneuvering..... I don't think I want to try to tweak the stock handlebars, but it is worth looking at. There are a few issues with being vertically endowed.

It could be the sea foam, or the junk that it removes from your fuel delivery system....... I'll be watching the sales flyers in my area so I can stock up..... BTW from sea foam's web site: It sounds like some of you are using a little bit more than is recommended by the manufacturer......

I also think that bikes as a general rule have a higher initial depreciation rate than cars. It has to be a higher risk to the bank for the rate to be higher.....

Using the front brake during turning at low speed will make you drop the bike!!! This is PROBABLY what the instructor was talking about. You MUST use BOTH brakes to stop your bike properly, however depending on speed, lean angle, road surface condition, contaminates on the road, SHOULD make you apply your brakes in different ratios.... EVERY braking event is different, and you MUST adapt to the current event, or you WILL drop your bike or crash!!!! There is NO single proper braking technique!!!!!!!!

Wobble with sidecar-comments please
KiteSquid replied to labill's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have never driven a bike with a sidecar. I do have a 1950 H-D FL. All 1950 FL's came from the factory with lugs welded in the frame to accept side cars. They all also came with an adjustable steering damper. A FEW bikes came from the factory with adjustable rake angle on the triple trees...... -
IF you want a bike that is guarinteed to require more days in the shop than on the road, I have a 1950 H-D FL for sale..... I'm asking $18,000....

The owners manual calls out SAE 80 API GL-4 Hypoid Gear Oil, 0.20 L (0.21 US qt) for the fill. It also states that GL-5 or GL-6 may also be used. I bought Amsoil Product ID: AGLQT SAE 80W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube for use in my bike... It is rated as a GL-5 standard.

Parking in marked stalls..ediquite and safety
KiteSquid replied to tony h's topic in Safety and Education
Luke is sent to the prison camp for cutting the heads off parking meters one drunken night, and when asked what kind of thing that is for a man to do, his explanation is "Small town, not much to do in the evenin'. Mostly just settlin' up old scores." But remember: "Nobody can eat fifty eggs..." "I'm shaking it, boss!" -
