  1. I sent in a 6 year old unit and the tech said that even though it was way out of warranty, it should have never had that problem. I sent it to them by next day air and in the not I said that I really needed it for a hunting trip on the coming weekend. They transferred all of my data, sent me the newest version of that model, next day air, all no charge. I doubt that I will ever get anything other than a Garmin in the foreseeable future.

    robin

No robins yet here. Next week is when I typically see my first robin. Now the caned geese are a different story. they have gotten lazy and no longer fly south for the winter, they just hang around here all year. They are very brave and foolish birds. But I do think that they can read your intent, I have seen them make some cars stop, but for me they must be able to sense that I do not stop for critters unless they are worth picking up after I have passed them. They always scramble to get out of my way long before I get there. Their messin wit ya cuz dey know yur skeerd o dem.

    Sunrise

The Sunrise? It is snowing way to hard to try to see a sunrise..... I'm way to busy dodging stupid people, as the spin into the ditch, to watch the sunrise.
  4. I will try to get on. but it will not be till around 10:00 central time.
  5. $250 for all of the materials???? I was thinking of making a custom glass shell trailer and I was looking at well over $1,000 for materials. Details, we need details. I am very interested.
  6. One of the biggest issues with CNG is the bomb.....I mean fuel tank that you have to carry.
  7. A lighter wallet. http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/userpics/10172/smiley-face-popcorn.gif
  8. NO WAY MAN!!! Cutting grass is way worse than shoveling snow. The longer it keeps snowing, the longer before I have to get out the %$#^*&%$ lawn mower.
  9. Now if you were noticing what was coming out the back of the mustang, does that not mean that you were BEHIND him???? Just askin......
  10. Green puddles are unacceptable to me. Antifreeze is both delicious and toxic for my dog. Not to mention that it is not doing the environment any good either. I think my next trick will be to add some florescent dye to the radiator and then get out the black light to look for the green stain. It bothers me when things are not quite right.
  11. I did something similar with the latching relay setup but I used the side stand switch to trigger it. Makes it impossible to forget to turn on the light in the daytime.
  12. Yes they do. They are not set up with power for playing, (probably the lawyers fault) but they are set up on display.
  13. I just learned of another bonus for anyone that makes it to this M&E. There will be a parking lot sale going on at Harbor Freight, only about a mile from the restaurant. They are still calling for a high of 38 on Sat. With a chance of showers...
  14. Well I took her in to see the vet cuz I just did not like the way her injuries were healing. The vet said I did an excellent job of treating the wound and recommended against stitches. He said this is more like a long puncture wound that needs to hear from the inside out because the tendons are exposed. He said that stitching it up would run a very high risk of infection, and an infection around the tendons is very hard to clear up. So he gave me some antibiotics and some anti inflammatory drugs to help make sue it heals with no issues, and told me to keep doing what I have been doing so far. Spingers just do not like it at all when they are not allowed to be going 100 mph all the time.
  15. My 1st gen IS my little around town cruiser / errand runner. I do not regret getting rid of any of the smaller bikes that I have ever had. I can no longer even conceive of ever owning anything smaller again.
  16. I don't know about way up nort, but I thought that in the USA you had to be able to read, speak, and understand English to get a CDL. (Except in IL where it just takes an extra cnote attached to the application:whistling:)
  17. A high pressure air blast does the trick quite well also. the air delivery is not measured in CFM but in CFS (cibic feet per SECOND). This system will seat a car tire that has been squished to where the beads are touching.
  18. WOW!!! Two things I thought I would never hear, and both in the same post no less.....
  19. Having a bad SWR will not harm anything as long as you only listen. It is transmitting with a bad SWR that will do damage. Unless you are co-phasing antennas the length of the coax does not matter, and then they must simply be equal.
  20. Even UGLY pics are better than no pics at all....
  21. Since it is on a 2nd gen there is no reserve lighting unit to have to mess with. When you say it did not work. Did it just not come on at all when you turned on the key? Did it go out while you were riding? Did it go out when you started the engine? Did you try turning it off and then back on?
  22. It would be nice to see them at Dons MD, After all they are celebrities on here.
  23. I tried to work on #5. Ran the bike till the cooling fan came on, continued to run it till the cooling fan shut off, and then shut the bike down. You guessed it, it didn't leak a drop while I was there looking for the leak. The last time I rode it last fall, it left a 2 foot by 4 foot puddle of AF on the floor.
  24. Well I started the bike up and watched it run as it warmed up. I ran it till the cooling fan came on, brought the temp back down to where the fan shut off and then I turned off the bike. All the while looking at the piles of snow, and ice glazed streets preventing me from taking a quick spin around the block. And what gets me really P.O.ed is that there was no antifreeze leaking while I was looking. Nope, not a drop. The last time I rode it, after I parked it, there was a puddle of AF that was about 2 feet wide by 4 feet long. ARRRrrrgggg.......
  25. Since the fork tubes are at an angle, is the 5.5 inches at the front, back, or middle?
