As mentioned humidity will be your biggest battle. I have a 150 gallon aquarium which is no where near the surface area or temperature of a hot tub. I have to run the biggest dehumidifier I could find and I have to run it year round or everything in the house stays wet. As far as the hot tub, I looked at some, but chickened out with the humidity issues.

Air box mod?

:sign yeah that: If you are going thru the efffort to pull the TCI out, while you have it out take a peek inside. There are 8 diodes in there that corrode over time. IF you replace them while they are still working, all is good. If any one of those 8 diodes fail, the whole TCI is junk instantly. There are a few posts with instructions and required parts to do this. -
Geeze Puc I sure do remember all to well getting my injectors cleaned and motor pics. They even came up with a way to shoot video of the running motor, AND this fool contraption could even measure the displacement while the motor was running. Only 138 RPM, they had me revved up to 196 on that silly treadmill. Incline my a$$, that puppy was going straight up and it weren't to heaven, at least not fer me.......And it was running so fast there was smoke coming off my sneakers. Prayers up that they find what all is ailing ya.

1st Dodge Challenger Hellcat sold in Colorado......
Flyinfool replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
And that is not even a record for the shortest life of a new vehicle. Had a local kid bought a V65 Magna back when they were the new thing, He did not even make it out of the parking lot before he ran it up a light post. He revved it up and let the clutch fly........ -
Don that is just way to simple of a concept for the gubernment to comprehend.......

How destroyed is your old one? F4 Custom was looking for a 1st gen donor shield to get dimensions to manufacture a new shield for the first gens. I would love to have an F4 on my 1st gen.

It is somewhat obvious, I love things that fly. I started flying model airplanes when I was 8 years old. I started out with the original sleek streak balsa model with the rubber band that you wind up. Then for Christmas one year my god father gave me a little nitro powered car with an .049 engine in it. It was one that you held on to a string and it went round and round in a circle till it ran out of gas. It did not take real long for that to loose its excitement. A couple of years later, I was at the local hobby shop with the car to inquire about what would be involved with converting that car engine into an airplane engine. While I was there talking to them about it, a nice "old" (to a 10 years old anyone that drives is old) man was listening in and offered to help me out. Ahhhhh it was a different time back then. I had no issue jumping in the car with a total stranger and going to his house who knows where. He converted that engine from a car engine to an airplane engine and then took me back to the hobby shop, where he showed me an appropriate airplane to start out with and gave me directions to the place where he and others were flying these airplanes. I built that airplane, and loaded everything up on my bike and peddled the 10 miles to where they were flying. That was all it took, the hook was set and 50 years later I still have not even loosed that hook a little. About 8 years ago my darned kids, for a birthday, bought me an introductory flight in a real airplane. Dang kids, a few thousand dollars later I had my private pilots license to be able to fly the real thing. Did I ever mention that I like things that fly..........I have been told many times that I have spent foolish amounts of money over the years on toy airplanes, but I did and do have a lot of fun with them. My flying style does seem a little reckless to some, but then some of my airplanes are very old. Hence the fool half of the name. -

Since it is not in your "immediate" future, Does that mean that Eileen has to wait until Christmas for hers?

Our custom is to get the whole family together. The food is whatever the host decides to make. The host also tells the rest of us what to bring to share to lighten the workload on the host. I am usually ordered to bring rum balls....... There are 5 kids in the family. We take turns hosting the various holidays. You never know what we will have, Spaghetti and meatballs, ham and spuds, turkey, steak, could be anything, the important part of the day is family being together together, not the meal or even the presents.

WOW, Dredged up an 7+ year old political post......... And the worst thing is, it is still relevant today......... We must have learned nothing in the last 7 years.......

LED Flasher Part Number/source
Flyinfool replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I don't think that helps with an 84 on up. it is only for the 83. I think that the 41R relay will need a different solution. -
Well I started cutting and welding, But some dummy welded one of the brackets on upside down. Now for some MORE cutting and welding........... Must be the drugs............

LED Flasher Part Number/source
Flyinfool replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The easiest way to accomplish your task is to add a 3.3 ohm, 50W resistor to the left and right flasher circuit. then no mods to the flasher / canceler / starter relay. The load resistors that you buy for this purpose are 6 ohm and you need 4 of them, the 3.3 ohm you only need one for each side. You can install them thru the front turn signal openings so there is minimal disassembly required. That is what I did in this thread; http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?77042-MORE-lights -
LED Flasher Part Number/source
Flyinfool replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Couple of things. (the 83 might be different) 1. If you put in an after market flasher you will lose the self canceling feature of the turn signals since that is part of the stock flasher. 2. The starter relay is built into the stock flasher unit. You will have to cut the wires that are not part of the starter circuit and wire them to your new flasher. There is no significant power savings with running LED turn signals since they are actually on very little time. It is much easier to run the load resistor for the turn signals only and keep the rest of the bike stock. I do not know which LED flasher would work best with a 1st gen. It is on my to do list to someday figure out a way to have an LED flasher and still keep the self canceling feature and the starter relay. -
96 RSA tranny

If the cup failed it is likely due to a pitted bore. If the bore is pitted enough to be leaking you will most likely be looking for a new master. I do not see how the clutch issue could cause it to jump out of 1st gear. If anything, clutch issues make it hard to get out of first and into neutral. -

NUMBER 1 If fluid is running out of the master, that is brake fluid. It will destroy all paint and plastic that it touches. Is the master over filled and over flowing, can you see the level in the sight glass? Can he tell where it is coming out of the master? Loose hose connection? Out the top? out by the handle end? -
Batteries need to be snowed on once in a while to work properly. Yup the Carma train is coming to get you.......... I am still on my first AGM battery, it is only 2 years old. My Yuasa lasted 6 years, and I do not put on a charger or maintainer or even take it out of the bike for the winter. It will see temps lower than -20F during the winter. It has always started in the spring.

If you gave it a spritz of starting fluid and got nothing. then it is not a fuel issue either. it should have at least sputtered on the stating fluid. Get those plugs out and have a look, they may just be that bad, these bikes are very sensitive to having good plugs. Often even plugs that still look good and look clean will not run well.
