  1. Its a republic that any day will declare its independence from the union.
  2. I've got a small window unit that I use. Doesn't do much good during the heat of Texas summers, but at night we usually get cold.
  3. Don't think I am going to have any of these issues with MY rear tire, but it isn't for everyone.
  4. Its the perfect bike for such a trip. Parts and mechanics are EVERYWHERE.
  5. That's how my VentureDad hitch works, and haven't had any issues with it. Towed my LOADED Time Out camper with no problems.
  6. check out this thread from when I did mine. There is a picture of what will be left. It really is quite simple once you get in there.
  7. Cool. I am considering getting the 9" shield, but with stick with my 7" for now. I'm getting some buffeting right at the very top of my helmet, but not bad.
  8. When you sell as many bikes as Harley does (or did), you are bound to have issues with some. Remember how reliable Toyota used to be. Once they became the worlds largest automobile company, now they are having more issues.
  9. Talking about setting up a Time Out Camping trailer, yes.
  10. It isn't hard, but isn't quite as easy as the video. Having two people helps. It takes me about 10 minutes to have it up.
  11. I've used this place many times in the past and have excellent service, price, parts and delivery. If you have the time to wait for parts I highly recomment them.
  12. bytes are information, so yes it should go up. your speed is going to be very slow on a satellite, you can go to http://www.speedtest.net/ and check your speed
  13. Got em on mine. Super super easy to install. You need a lift to just take the weight off of the suspension. I didn't remove anything from the bike to install them, unlike the directions that come from Diamond R.
  14. I just got back from pulling my LOADED down Time out camper from Dallas to Austin, and didn't change my rear tire pressure any. It pulled just fine, albeit quite heavy. 4th gear the whole way.
  15. I have added both the stock and MS lowers to mine.
  16. I think you are right in the neighborhood. I usually get 35-38 mpg on mine.
  17. You can add a fairing pretty easy, ask me how and if you want a radio, you can get that too, just costs more money. The seat can be changed out pretty easy as well. But I do understand the allure of a new bike, but you never seem to find out all of the little "characteristics" about the bikes until AFTER you buy one. The RSTD/RSV are basically bullet proof bikes as far as mechanicals go. Comfort and stying are subjective and fairly easy to change.
  18. Repair/Maintenance 1.RSV 89.8 3.Honda 72.5 73.6 Those number surprised me. Are there reliability issues with the Goldwing?
  19. If you can get them to stay in place, some ABS cement will hold it. You can find it in Home Depot by the PVC cement. Just make sure you get the one for ABS.
  20. aren't those width specs also measured on a certain width rim? I think the biggest problem we have are our very narrow rims.
  21. Thanks. I'm certainly not as experienced as some, but won't go back to a MT on the rear unless some unforeseen circumstances dictate it.
  22. If they are stopping fine, I would do several hard stops in a row to get any rust off of the rotor. You can always put some anti squel compound on the back of the pads.
  23. By the way, I do agree with you that if I had a wobble, I would definately by concerned and would be tracking that down. I don't have one, but then again I drive the speed limit (although when I have been passing vehicles and have gone above the speed limit, I haven't noticed anything). I think the poster needs to adjust his tire pressures until he gets it where he is comfortable.
  24. I'll take that as a no. Put brand new Metzlers on mine, are they decent tires? I thought they handled great, right up until the rear gave out quite tragically with about 5k miles on it. The CT handles just as great, whether you believe it or not. Yes it is differnt, and I bet with as experience a rider as you are it would take about 5 minutes until you forgot it was a CT on there. I haven't changed my riding style any, still drag my floorboards (and it stills scares the cr*p out of me), still accelerate and stop the same (only stopping is actually better). For ME there is no compromise in running a CT.
