  1. if you haven't changed the fluid in the clutch for awhile, now would be a good time. it does make a difference.
  2. I'd be replacing the brake lines.
  3. your still under warranty, talk to your dealer about a new "I" basket
  4. have you bleed both brakes and the clutch? probable need to change out the rubber lines if you haven't ever.
  5. Beautiful. Before I bought my bike I thought I was going to get a Goldwing, then I sat on one. My knees rub on the fairing and my feet are jammed up. Not good.
  6. Well I pulled the trigger. Ordered the Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing 2330-0017 with a 7" clear windshield from Badgers Hollow Motorsports. Saw them on Ebay and gave em a call. Total was $243 shipped, which is a pretty good deal. Much better than the Radio Caddy I was looking at for $300, since it would still need to be painted. Will buy a bracket from a fellow member on here and see how it goes.
  7. What does the inner portion look like? Everybody has pictures of the outer, but not the inner. Did you paint yours or leave it the way it came? What height windshield did you go with?
  8. Well, to answer my own question, Goodyear has been making motorcyle tire since at least 1914 http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=uAMuAAAAIBAJ&sjid=bSgDAAAAIBAJ&pg=2693,441592&hl=en
  9. That is definately the "Cadillac" option, but I'm more of a Kia guy I'm not so interested in music as I am wind protection, so cheap is definately the way to go for me. Yours looks very nice.
  10. I've got Flanders bars on my 05, part number in my signature.
  11. I've got Flanders bars on my 05, part number in my signature.
  12. Would use the stock headlight and it would pretty easy to install a disconnect if you had a stereo, but I'm not planning on using a stereo. I would like to be able to change out from the windshield to the fairing to nothing with the ease we can now.
  13. There is a small differential in price between the two as well...
  14. Thinking about getting one for my 05 RSTD, but of course they don't list a mounting bracket for this bike. Does anybody know if any of the other models will connect to the stock windshield quick disconnect mounts? Didn't know if maybe the Roadstar or Vstar brackets might work.
  15. Putting the stock dog bones back in is simple. You need a lift to take the pressure/slack off of the shock, but you don't have to remove anything and you can reach everything pretty easy.
  16. try spraying hair spray on your hands before you start working on the bike/car, makes cleaning them up later much easier.
  17. have you priced the venturedad hitch?
  18. The question shouldn't be how much contact (how much contact does the MC make in a corner?), but how much grip. For a large, heavy cruiser like mine, the answer is more than I can use. I still can scrape my floorboards, so I am getting plenty of traction. The dark side isn't for sports bikes, but for MY bike it works just fine. On a side note, when did motorcycle specific tires start being made and what did bikes come with before then?
  19. My bone stock 05 dynoed 70hp and 70 ft-lbs at basically sea level.
  20. Been looking at the Radio Caddy as well. I have the flanders bars for extra pull back, and one of the man reasons I'm looking at the fairing is for better wind protection for my hands in the winter. How well does the Radio Caddy do for hand wind protection? If you have any pictures from the drivers seat that would be great.
  21. don't think you can measure the mileage that way. need to run it to reserve, fill it up and calculate the mileage that way.
  22. thanks for the pictures. I can get this one for $150, but if there is a ton of mods, would probably try to find a Radio Caddy.
  23. Looking at adding a fairing to my 05 RSTD. Can get a fairing for a Road King pretty reasonable, but wondering how much modifications its going to take to get it to fit? Any other economical ways to add a fairing? Will probably look to re-use the hardware on the stock windshield to keep it as a quick disconnect fairing.
