  1. I tried the Harley pipes after I took off the Khromewerks and they weren't nearly as loud. But I think I'm getting old, I want it as quiet as I can get it now. Back to stock for me.
  2. I have the fire sticks on my RSV and had the same problem when using a cover on the bike, I didn't like taking them off either. My wife put a couple of large button holes in the cover where the antennas go. Now I just put the cover on back to front and it works fine.
  3. A buddy of mine has been trying to get a new Commander front tire for his Tour Deluxe for several weeks now, with no luck. He tried the local Cycle Gear and various online outlets and can't get one. Dennis Kirk said they couldn't get them anymore. He finally called Michelin customer service in South Carolina and they told him they were discontinuing the Commander and didn't know if there would be a replacement. Has anyone else heard this or had any trouble getting Michelin Commanders lately? It seems there are still rear tires around, but having trouble finding a front. I've been running the Commanders since the original Bridgestones wore out and I really liked them. Looks E3's for me next, unless they come up with a replacement
  4. I use the CoolMax shorty. It works good, no knots and no long tails. http://www.headsweats.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=54&idproduct=88

I never use anything else but the Bomb, now Captain Richards Best. It doesn't collect dust and you can use it on everything, chrome, windshield or paint. It's $31.95 a quart shipped, but it last me a year or two and I clean my bike after every ride. It works great. Almost 80k on the bike and it still looks great. http://www.captainrichardsbest.com/welcome.htm

  8. There was an article with pics on page 65 of the Feb. 2010 Rider magazine.
  9. Got my new Rider magazine the other day and in the product spotlight section, Slipstreamer now has 5 windscreens for the RSV. 3 are shorties in dark smoke 6, 8, and 10 inch. They have 2 clear in 13 and 17 inch heights. It says the prices range from $93 to $113. Went to their web site but they are not on the list yet. I know a bunch of people like the shorties and the dark smoke looks cool.
  10. It's my home page, so I look it over every time turn on the computer. Then I forget why I turned the computer on in the first place.
  11. Here is an update of the original post. Redding Yamaha Seadoo got their tire salesman to give them a credit for the tire they sold me. In turn I got a credit for a new tire whenever I needed one. I finally called last week and they sent a new Commander. It was only 6 months old. They kept there word and replaced the old tire for free. Good people.
  12. Here is a picture of what to look for. This one is the 32nd week of 2003.
  13. I'll take two 2nd gen pins. I will send payment via Paypal immediately. Thanks, very cool.
  14. First I'd like to thank everyone, especially Jack, Dave and Kurt, for all their hard work putting this ride together, it was great. It's nice to finally be able to put faces to the names. What a fantastic group of poeple. We left Thursday morning at 6am thinking it was going to take a while to get through Yellowstone and the Tetons. Got to Evanston, WY at 7pm that night, 390 miles. Left the next morning at 7am on our way to Mesquite, NV, 400 miles. Got there at 1:30pm, way to early to stop for the day so we ended up riding home. Arrived home in Boron around 9pm about 700 miles for the day. Thank goodness for my gel pad. My buddy Dane (Taz) didn't make home until after 10pm. Cody was a great place to get together, plenty of riding and if you haven't been to the Buffulo Bill Historical Center you missed something. The gun museum is something. Thanks again for the great time.
  15. I'm getting my stuff together tonight, ready to leave on Friday. We are going to ride through Flaming Gorge on the way up. Should be in Cody early afternoon on Sunday. Looks like it's going to be a great ride. See you in Cody.
  16. It's been a year since I did the clutch and it is been good. Pulled the trailer about 3k this summer and that is where I really noticed a difference. Pulled away from the stops nice and smooth and accelerating up to speed was solid. It was an easy fix.
  17. Nice Job. It really looks good.
  18. Hey David, Where are the pictures?
  19. I had the Khrome Werks on my bike for along time also, nice pipes but it was just to much noise. Tried the HD's but, I am back to stock now. I like quite and I still use ear plugs.
  20. I installed the kit last fall, spring and all new discs. It works great. I followed the instructions from PCW and had my lap top in the garage so I could follow the steps from the tech section. Absolutely no problems. I haven't pulled my trailer yet but the clutch is awesome.
  21. Between the instructions that come with the clutch and the info on this site you can't go wrong. I took my laptop out to the garage and followed along. The pictures really help.
  22. I found it at Walmart, but I don't think it will help with the hair color.
  23. Brigestone's were the tire that came with the bike and I hated them. Tried a set Avons next and they were alot better. Then I got a set of Commanders and I really like them. I'm on my 3rd set. The mileage has been around 16k on the first two sets, that's mostly 2 up and I pull my trailer quite a bit. I think the front tire is a little narrower than the Avon or the Bridgestone, so it seems to me to handle better than the others. It could just be the way I ride. I may try the Dunlop Elite 3 next time, but the bike will have about 85k. Who knows there could be a Gen 3 by then.
