  1. Does anybody have a set of Ball milled ones they would like to sell or no of anyone that does. Have called and emailed at least 40 yamaha dealers. How about our friends to the north? Anybody in Canada.
  2. I bought a small 12volt compressor to carry on my '83 Venture on Ebay for $30 + $10 shipping without checking out pricing elsewhere first. A couple of days ago I saw the same compressor at Pep Boys for $12 + local sales tax (6+%). Boy, was that DUMB! Even though it was my own fault, I emailed the guy - didn't blame him, just said I was frustrated that I was dumb to overpay so much. He emailed me back & said he was sorry, he didn't know what they sell for & that he ended up with a box of them from the flea market - I don't think he's American based on his illiterate email. I emailed him back asking that he refund me $15 - I don't expect a positive response/any money back. Man, I'm gonna hafta do more homework! Doug
  3. I know this has been talked about many times but I'm going to bring it up again. I think it's important. The 2nd day out on our 3 week vacation this summer I picked 2 nails in the rear tire on a Sunday. The only shop open was 150 miles away, so we plugged it and took off. When I finally got there I had two choices a Metzler or an Avon, I choose the Avon. I heard all the stories about the Metzler. The Yamaha dealer in Redding, Ca. was great, they got me in and out and took good care of me. Now the rest of the story. I am a Michelin Commander guy and the combination with the Avon never felt right. This past weekend I finally got a new Commander and pulled the rear wheel off to change the tires. Well to my suprise the Avon had cracks in the center of the tire and some small ones on the sidewall. Turns out the tire was 5 years old when I bought it. I was just lucky I took it off when I did. I never saw the cracks with the tire on the bike. Emailed Avon and they agreed it was dry rot, but they won't warranty any over 5 years old. Emailed the dealer I bought the tire from, Redding Yamaha Seadoo, and they are going to take care of me. Long story short, check those DOT codes before you put the tire on the bike.
  4. Local (Vancouver, BC Canada) dealer is advertising a used 2006 RSTD rated at 101 HP. I questioned them about this stating it should be 97HP. They emailed back that in the US it is 97 but in Canada it's 101 HP. Anyone ever heard of this??... I haven't.
  5. Has anyone ordered from Troy and had to wait a long time or didn't receive their product? I placed and paid for my stuff on Feb. 19th and still no product. I've emailed him twice this week and no response. One reason I ordered from him is the recommendations of members from this site.
  6. Hi all !! Well I am going to have a hip replacement and work done on my right knee the first of July. I have put a block over my order page on my web site till I'm back up on my feet and able to make grills again. I have orders now and if anyone on here has an order in I will have them all out no later then the 23rd. ( others that I have emailed know when theirs will be shipped. ) I want to thank everyone for their support of my product and I'll be making them again as soon as I'm able. I hope everyone has a safe summer riding season and a fun one !!!!!! Have a good one and Ride Safe Steve
  7. I just wanted to give tazmocycle a little recognition. I posted on here the other day that one of my work buddies broke his throttle on his V-star and asked if anyone had one. Don emailed me that he had one and shipped it to my friend for basically no charge. I would like to give him an attaboy for his help.
  8. Jan's bike was wrecked last summer. I've found a bike on Ebay that we are interested in getting but would like to see if someone could look at it for me. I've emailed the seller with some questions and a request for an address. Anybody help me? Dave
  9. Hello Everybody, Does anyone have a cooler rack off a piggyback trailor they are willing to sell? Or now were I can purchase one? Have emailed Tom at piggy back and they do not have any extra. Thanks in advance.
  10. Ordered a Ram Mount for the ipod on Saturday. Of course, the base for the unit was backordered and would not be in until Thursday. I emailed them as to whether or not they had another base that may work as I was going on a trip Friday. They had possibilities which were emailed to me after business hours on Saturday. I was surprised at that. On Monday, today, I was about to call, but they had emailed me to let me know they had the item overnighted and it would ship today. They are located in Eureka Springs, Ar. and carry a pretty extensive array of stuff. Seems like a good vendor. I'm not sure howto enter a link on this site, but the web address is cyclegadgets.com. Prices don't seem too bad either. Worth a look.
  11. Is there any interest here in a newsletter? This would be a newsletter that you would have the option of subscribing to. It would be emailed to the members who subscribe on a monthly, bi-monthly, whatever basis. The big advantage of this will be for those who do not visit and read every post on the forum on a daily basis. It would pull out the highlights or important threads from the forum and also any other relevant info that the author wants to write. It could include information and reminders of upcoming rallies, eat and meets, etc. The possibilities are endless. It would also be available online for anybody who prefers that it NOT be emailed to them. I already have the necessary module installed here for the newsletter feature, it is just something that I have never gotten around to doing. Now here is the next BIG question. Do we have a volunteer who is a good writer who would like to write the newsletter?
