I had a battery go bad on the 1 st gen...went kind of slow like...it warned me. My 2nd gen did not....it quit while I was having dinner with friends 45 miles from home. Be nice to have some warning and I've heard the stock 2nd gen batterys are notorious for not giving a warning....like lagging or something prior to shutting down for good.

Yes it would be easier! I will wait a couple more days then go from there.

Me thinks that salesperson must be related to the boss...cause anywhere else her butt woulda been out the door. Thats nasty at its worst. And a little surprising from a Harley dealer from what I've read about em.

Are you looking for noisy, quiet, throtty.... why do you need to rejet? I dont know Hondas...thats why I ask. Most dont rejet on the yammies when they put after market pipes on. Added one I found on ebay..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hard-Krome-Exhaust-Honda-VT-750-Shadow-Aero-04-07_W0QQitemZ120206689900QQihZ002QQcategoryZ35573QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It seems the new ones are going around the 300 dollar mark for various brands.

minus 5 c today...I did not get out for a ride...but I did look at the shed where the bikes are and cried a little!:rotf:Only 4-5 months to go!

The xl is 795 plus either 59 if shipped to a commercial address or 109 if shipped to a home address. I have one (xl) that came with the bike I purchase last spring....I really like it. Thats not to discourage you from going the harbour freight direction...many have and are completely satisfied. Just having a trailer is sure handy.

I never noticed that before. You have to be the guinea pig and report on how well it works! Did you consider the handle bar mounted cb and intercom from sierra electronics? Thats what I was looking at for my wifes bike. She can plug in her sat radio and have intercom with the kid when ever they ride along. But its a little more cash...$306 and thats without the antenea and mounting bracket.....or the headsets!

That is cool. Wisconsin is a great state to ride in, I've alway loved being there.

Congrats to her...they are a nice rig! And they are always more organized...dont know what I would do without mine! Good luck with you bike hunt.....if she bugs you, remind her how much she loves to shop and that this is your turn to shop around! BTW...skidrow has a very nice Pacific Coast sitting in his garage waiting for a home. I am looking at it for my brother in-law. I just gotta get him hear to see the pics.

Out thoughts and prayers go out for both the families noted here. I still wish I was closer to most of you so I could lend a physical hand somehow....but for now its not going to be. All I can do is be supportive and send something if the need arises.

Wingstuff sells the whole set (with cord) for around 60 bucks. Thats what I got mine for. I also got dinged for over 40 bucks in "brokerage" fees. Best place to buy is Wingstuff then send it to a friend in the US to mail it to you. I am sure there are plenty of members that would help out in this regard. Heck, I've got bike parts all over the US right now waiting for me to pick up! Camper and swivel hitchs in Hebron, other parts in AppleValley! Lol, shipping for those items is gonna cost me about 500 bucks, once the trip down is all complete! Yes 100 bucks is still cheaper, but why would one pay that terrible ripoff when you dont have to? Mic mutes wont go on my bike for the simple reason is that I rarely have a passenger. Just my kids now and then. Although, I think its a great set-up from what I've read.

Its tough Dan. I know exactly what you mean. I work tonight at 6 and am going for a nap right away. There are times when I can actually sleep for an hour or so and times when the head is going at full speed as you say. If nothing else I make sure I stay in bed and try at least to rest the body...and I read. then get set for a long night. Somedays I struggle to make it through the night and hope to be busy. Other days its a breeze. After the first night getting to sleep the next morning is not an issue. Make sure its quiet and dark. My kids are great and when Dad says he's going for a nap...they dont make any noise at all....never even fight...which is an on going affair with a 11 year old girl and 14 year old son! I do not medicate! You need the long sleep or else that stuff will still be in the system while at work. You know as much as I do that we need to be alert at all times at the work we do.

Just judging by the sizing charts in a couple of stores that sell them online, I would say you need a xl long+ 185-230lbs up 6'3". It may flap a little. I like mine and its a loose fit...or at least it was until it shrunk....no I grew...lol.

Ive used a toothpick to keep mine open at times. I think Black Owl has a fix that invovles using one of those plastic ties for wiring. Russell....were are you! -
Well with any luck at all Brad...thats it for the year! So sorry about your cat....ours is 14 and we are dreading what is coming before much longer. She is a good ole girl and we will miss her. You take care!

Take them out...there is a poorly designed gear mech in the back....maybe some sewing machine oil might help or sewing wax on the linkage. They sure are fragile arent they?
