  1. Thank God you guys are ok. Man oh man....thats gotta hurt. Broken collar bone is not great. And the big guy is sure to feel those bumps tomorrow. Take care and thanks to all those down there taking care of them.
  2. We (us and Marilyns family) spent the whole afternoon on the lake. Little brother brought out his quad and cleared a skating rink and we played a little hockey. Warmed up in the ice fishing shack.(the kids did) and did some tobogganing. It was a good day. Went back the their place for some hot chili and dogs plus some left over sweets! going to bed now....gotta work in the wee hours. Oh ya I forgot...it was minus 21c and windy...probably -28 ish....that is -brrrr for you southern folks! Happy New Year everyone!
  3. From the reports...I would believe the stator issues are worked out.

Canadians do not order from Wingstuff and have it sent to Canada!! Do not do it....it gets very expensive after the brokerage fee is added...I learned the hard way. If you have someone to ship to in the states, do that...but dont order shipping to Canada.
  5. Right back at you Dray. And to all the others, all the best. I cant answer all the well wishes posted here...lol
  6. They raise the back end of the bike up a little (1-1.5 inches). It makes for easier slow speed cornering. That and/or a smaller profile front tire works wonders apparently. I will be putting on a set in the spring.
  7. Good news there Brad....we do not gamble. I will sometimes throw a loony into a machine and the head on out once it eats it. We are going just because.....I wanna see the pretty lights and maybe catch a show or two. Gambling does nothing for me....I can do that here if I wanted to. But, thanks for the warning.
  8. You can say that Forrest....I've got metz....but I dont care for them now as they howl like a banshee in the corners. Tires make a huge differance in handling and I have never seen anyone say they like the stock bridgestones. Air pressure in those tires also make a huge differance. A little air in the front shock could do it as well. You would need to experiment with differant settings to see what you like best. Remember to use 0 loss hand pump and not more than 7lbs pressure in the front!
  9. There are several of these items for sale on ebay right now.
  10. Thanks Klaus! We may have to reconsider the bike thing! That is a little cooler than I want to be for the day. Perhaps save the cash and just cage it to the canyon. Good tip. Be nice to meet you as well.
  11. Scott Thanks for the tip....er....can you define cool for me.....it will be around minus 20F here during this time of year. We are sort of prepared for the bike cost.
  12. Nice pics.......I am sure happy for you folks that get to ride all year. Someday....someday!
  13. Nice pics and thanks for sharing. I have no idea what happened but sounds like it was a surprise meet and eat for the squid! Imagine that...Squidly with a menu in hand!
  14. All the best Fred.
  15. Got the trip booked for Vegas in Feb. We are only there for a few days. We land on the evening of the 12th Feb. and leave on the 15th I believe. Our "free" day is most likely the 14th and we hope to maybe rent a bike and drive out to the Grand Canyon. Is that plausable? Then maybe meet up with Ron and Linda and whomever else is interested for something to eat. We are staying at New York New York. Feedback and hints are appreciated!
  16. Absolutely right! Spend the money...its worth it.
  17. Hey Jerry How far are you from me? I live in Brandon Manitoba. If you are reasonably close, I could pop down and let you take mine for a spin this spring...thats if you can wait that long! I do not have a screamer....but it is a little noisier than my 89 VR. I think the gear noise is just a little more noticable on the RSV than it is on the 1st gen. Friends riding with me have never said anything though...so its not that bad. Never mind looking it up Jerry! I just did...you are about 5 hours from us....nice little ride down. I have all kinds of stuff I could show you on mine. I was also thinking that 2k miles is a long way to go....but then again..for the right price...after all I did get mine from Atlanta and drive her home!
  18. Nope, but I would say she is just plain busy. She always has something on the go and loves to visit her family....tis the season. Funny though, Russ, I was wondering the same thing the other day.
  19. Happy Anniversary you two! And I echo many that mentioned about why our gals keep us around for so long! I can never figure out either. We have great ladies....all with the patience of Jobe!
  20. Excellant news! We are sure glad he is doing so good. All the best Gary...if you are reading any of this. We sure wish we were closer and could pop in for a visit.
  21. All the best Lewis. Congrats on the new addition and prayers for successful treatments!

    Flash

It must be cool whereever he "summers" after his big day! Still got the suit on.
  23. You're welcome Jack! I tried to put in a 1stgen battery this summer when mine calved out (2nd gen). I learned! I would love to get in on this but I have just purchased a new battery last summer for both bikes and am good to go for now. Its a good thing you do for all of us Jack...many thanks.
  24. I got one thing motorcycle....the multi switch chrome thingy that mounts on the brake cylinder and allows me to wire up differant things with a switch for each. Kinda neat and I have Mike to thank! (mikealiasmike) Marilyn has been carting this around since venture in the pines. I also got a stand for my miter saw, saw horses, led flashlight that will go in the bike trunk (one of those wind up ones). A air compressor with a air brad nailer. Some lottery tickets that didnt pay out so I have to continue working for a bit more! I'm thinking I am going to have some projects to work on this summer!
  25. It plain and simply doesnt fit. The first gen battery is bigger and taller.
