  1. The only connection is by age! Here is a link to the fix for the E4 on the CLASS. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=493 Its really quit easy to do.
  2. We crossed that dang thing this summer going to Kitchener....it was windy as all get out and scared the poop out of me. So bad that on the return trip I considered going through Chicago! The trip back was much much better..almost no wind and yes....we got to drive the grate as well...pulling the camper. But it was cool coming back.
  3. Mine was loose battery connections! It would go and then it wouldnt...then it would go again. Good thing I trouble shooted before parking it were it died.
  4. Now..that would give anyone a good excuse to change their undies! It is a good thing you like picture taking and all!
  5. Thats the one! Thanks Brian!
  6. Gee that was easy...I hope. I was looking around the net for the plaque I saw on someones bike that had the states engraved and the visited states had a small gemstone placed in it. It was mounted on the guys trunk. Anyone seen one of those?
  7. Trunk rack and saddlebag rails. Must have add-ons in my opinion...the rest are nice to have farkles.....keep in mind for the tight budget that chrome is a safety item....at least thats what I tell the missus.
  8. I would think sythentic would be fine. Stick with the 90 weight though me thinks.
  9. On the rear and hopefully only on the RSV or similarly weighted bike. Marilyn is running metz on her vstar. This is the second set and she has no complaints. I am hoping this tire wont go crazy on her. Ive never heard of one going on the lighter bikes.
  10. Yeppers, I've heard about the "punch" mark as well. As for the vin's, that rule only applies to the 85's. After a certain vin the fix has been made at the factory.
  11. So thats what the canyon looks like! It was snowing when we were there! lol. Sounds like a great trip so far...continue to stay safe and have fun.
  12. A member here just bought himself a nice brandy new one! He seems happy and so am I as I got a part from his venture! Pilot is his handle.
  13. Please see this link and read and view Freebirds method. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7732&highlight=trailering He seems to have it down pat. I've used the triple tree to secure the front end.
  14. Lol....I was going to ask how heck you did that Eck! Then I figured it out all by myself. ...just I didnt know and was hoping I didnt repeat anything.
  15. Yes I believe you can if you are prepared to wait. The dealers will be getting the 09's in and will want to get the old stuff gone. Or shop around some, there should be lots of bikes coming up for sale soon....winter is coming and there are good deals to be had.
  16. The connies are a nice bike. Looks like you did good!
  17. Thats a nice deal. I did notice that the tires are a little more to the rear. Would that lead a heavier hitch weight?
  18. Couldnt even get the jack under Marilyns vstar! Used those scissor type lifts to get hers off the ground. What a pain.
  19. You do have to get the wheel from under the fender and or hitch so that takes you up there a little. The adaptor is the cats meow from what I;ve heard. Its the most stabil thing going. I wouldnt worry too much. Get some tie downs and lash them to the frame and the jack...that might make it seem more sturdy for you. Without the adaptor it is quit the adventure getting the bike up there...I wondered when it would fall....but it sat on the jack for over three days while I was waiting for the shop to mount a new tire for me.
  20. Dont know what Eck said... Only offered him my help in syncing his carbs or the choice of me shipping my carb tune tester to him to use...
  21. The ones shown on the star site mount on the front lower crash bars. If you have foot pegs mounted there it will require you to wiggle things around to make it all fit. I have them and they work pretty good.
  22. And...I dont believe you can get the correct size radial for the rear tire anyway.
  23. Wow...I just cant imagine being so long without those things. Up here we get the blizzards that sometimes will shut down the power for a bit and sometimes the occassional frozed water pipe in the older homes..but nothing like that. Our homes and infastructure arent usually wrecked by storms like that. I am glad things are coming together for you guys. Sarah may complain a little about school...but being with her friends again will be good for her.
  24. Have a great trip guys! Man I dont think I've every seen a 2nd gen so loaded up!
  25. If you were two up then the recommended damper setting is either 3 or 4. Try the other tricks too..but that damper does make a differance.
