  1. '09 with 2444 miles http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330399858121&viewitem= Is it too good to be true????
  2. Is it normal for the radio on a 83 venture to only work on A M side. Tried to clean all the buttons with electric cleaner but it did not work. I looked on ebay but the prices was a little high.(my opinion) Is there a fix for these or is it the nature of the beast. It is not a big deal but i like it all to work if its on the bike. Doug
  3. It's not a big deal, I know, but I'm going into surgery tuesday for carpal tunnel and to fix my trigger finger (both on my left hand). It makes me a little angry because they say I'll not be riding the bike for probably 4-6 weeks. That will basically kill any potential riding (any the weather has been looking up of late) that I might have been able to do shortly, when they finish the paving job on our street. (haven't had the bike out at all, because of it for about 6 weeks now, as it is. I'm starting to get a little punchy) That's an inconvenience and a pain in the neck; I get that. What makes the hair on the back of my neck tingle is that the last time I had "minor" surgery, being sedated / anesthetised precipitated my heart attack a few days later. (a not uncommon occurrence or so they said [which by the way they didn't tell me until after the fact]). What is most irritating is the little, small, niggling, ill feeling I get when I think about it. I mean it just irks me that it happens. I know y'all know what I mean. ANYWAY, those of you who are willing.....if you would, drop my name in a prayer, tonight, just in case! Thanks! I really appreciate it.
  4. What do you think? Which are the better deal? Considering changing and don't know which way to go.
  5. can anyone tell me if the needle valves from an 85 will work on my 86? i found a good deal on 2 but not sure if they will work. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank's bill:puzzled:
  6. Just passing this one on. Anyone interested in Ottawa Ontario area? Looks like a sweet deal. $1000 with only 50 000 Km. http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-touring-1986-Yamaha-Venture-XVZ-W0QQAdIdZ158829448
  7. Currently shopping around for tires and came across motorcycle-superstore's website and came across the best deal on Dunlop D404 (Rear and Front). - 150/90H-15 for $90.99 (Rear) and -150/80H-16 for $97.99 (Front). For both tires, it is free shipping. What do you guys think? Not sure if radial or bias, etc. I may go ahead and order these tires tomorrow, before Monday.
  8. I posted about these items a week ago and now I can't find the post.... Maybe someone was affended and deleted it??? Anyway, someone got a great deal. $50 bucks for all this.... 1986 yamaha venture royale assorted parts 1986 yamaha venture royale luggage saddlebags
  9. If anyone is building their own trailer the attached link might be for you. I think this is a good deal? I've never seen them listed before so I thought I would pass it on. http://cgi.ebay.com/250-Torsion-axle-4-bolt-hub-Motorcycle-Trailer-Camper_W0QQitemZ290357120994QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories?hash=item439aa20fe2
  10. I have noticed this bike in the driveway and thought I should stop in and introduce myself and Ventureriders but it would appear I am too late. It's a clean looking bike and I'm thinking it's a good deal. It looks like he's missing the trunk. For what it's worth... http://stcatharines.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-touring-Still-available-as-of-Sept-19-1984-Yamaha-Venture-XVZ-12000-W0QQAdIdZ150331358
  11. I was thinking about getting a new windshield mine has some scratches on it. Can you all post some info on the best and where to get it for the best deal I want the same size as stock. Thanks
  12. I know that i have not been around here a lot lately, been lurking here or there, but really have not had time for much in the last several months. My wife and I are getting divorced and things have been crazy and will continue to be for some time. This was not my idea, but like it or not I have to move on and take care of the kids and myself. This is kind of a complicated story, but I cannot talk about it too much at this point because I have to do somethings to protect my kids. Unfortunately, one of the things that I must do is sell my Venture. I will be putting it and some accessories up for sale very shortly. I really hate to do this, but do not have a choice with the situation that I am in and trying to sort out all of the finances. It will not be too long though before I get another one, but may need to go to the darkside and get a 1st gen for a while. I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers, I NEVER thought that I would have to deal with all this and it is truly still dumbfounding for me.
  13. Folks... Just found a great deal on Air horns and decided to let every one know. I bought the one for the motorcycles for $ 30.00 and got a couple extras for an old powerwagon that I'm rebuilding. I got the black ones but they also have the chrome and marine grade. Take a look at the website, it's simple and inexpensive....just thought I'd let you know. Ken Here's the address: http://Kalmari.ecrater.com

  15. Where is the best place to purchase Progressive springs for an '88 VR? Dave
  16. I found this on Ebay. FORK BRACE It'll be closing soon, and it's already more than..OK, not by much ...so far... our group buy brace. See what a great deal you guys are getting by belonging to VR.org....
  17. First off, it seems very strange to be into the 2nd gen tech section!! Any way, I am loking for a good deal on a light bar. Where should I look?? What kind of lights option do I have?? Where should I tie the power from?? Questions, questions...
  18. Hi gang, I have a neighbor that stopped by yesterday and asked me if I wanted to buy is old goldwing, For the past 5 years I kinda have seen it parked in his garage and always told him that you need to ride that thing to keep the dust off of it. It has 42K on it and he say the carbs leak but starts, I see that it is in good shape , so ask how much?? He say's (5) I think and say $5,000.00 ??? He say's nope $500.00, my Question is how much are these going for these days? I am sure 500 is a pretty good deal and might pick it up this week to restore it a little , won't take much. but was wondering are the carbs on that year hard to work on? Carb's leak a little when running... What do you guys think? Thanks for any input. Jeff
  19. I know this isn't bike related but we all have computers and thought I would share this. I found this great deal on a Lexmark C534dn color laserprinter with high capacity toner cartridges, $215 delivered. I already have a C522 and it's been great. With 8,000 page toner cartridges it's cheaper to buy this printer than replacement ink or toner for you existing printer. I just ordered two. One to use now and one for spare toner. http://www.pcconnection.com/IPA/Shop/Product/Detail.htm?sku=7224197 This is networkable printer with duplex and print speeds of 24 ppm (black) and 21 ppm (color). 20. I have one set of MAC's left. I've gone thru the list of members that had indicated they were interested in an extra set, and still have this one set left. I thought I'd saved all the PM's and Emails, so if I missed you I apologize. Anyway, here's the deal. I figure the only equitable way to find a new home for the last set, and not offend anyone.... is to have a contest for all those that might be interested, So, I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 50. To keep things on the up and up, only myself and Freebird know what that number is. The one coming the closest to that number gets the MAC's. The price will be $275 delivered to your door, which is still a pretty good deal as the new retail is $319+ shipping. The contest will run for a week. So for those of you that are interested, get your ESP hats on, and post your number, and good luck. BTW, only one number per member...
  21. Hi everyone, I also just got around to posting. Happened to come across the site by doing a search for a windshield (made a deal with Marcy btw). So I've already saved the $12.00 membership fee. Riding a 2001 RSV bought used in 03 with 5800 miles on it, paid $7200. Deal of the century, Imho. Go by the name of Cruise57 because, you guessed it I love to CRUISE, but not limited to M/C's, Wife and I love cruise ships also. Looking forward to long friendships and tons of chatter from eveeryone here. Bike pics is from our annual Ride-Across-Maryland, Breast Cancer charity ride, normally 1200 bikes. Coming up end of May.....can't wait. My wife is a 3 year survivor now WooHoo. Donations are accepted through Rideacrossmaryland.org / sponsor a rider / David Shaw (I also posted in New Member area, wasn't sure where to post)
  22. I purchased a set of Avon Cobra tires from the Jake Wilson catalog a month ago (for a 2000 RSV). They turned out to be about $125 a piece after receiving a $50 discount for ordering over $300 worth of merchandise (the tires were about $280 retail and so I purchased a can a windshield cleaner and a "koozie" for a can of soda to get to $300). This also included free shipping. At the time, it seemed like a good deal and I noticed today they have the same deal available. Go to http://www.jakewilson.com/specialoffer.do?utm_source=EmailBlast&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=summerspecials if you are interested. It's raining today, BUT, it's not snowing and it is getting warmer! Have a good one,
  23. got a call yesterday that they want to meet with us finally. Up until now it has been solely contact with our victims advocate. The ada in charge of our case went on maternity leave so another ada has took over and he wanted to meet with us. Wants to go over the strong and weak points to our case and find out where we stand on an offer to the perp to keep from going to trial and having to put haylie thru that. This is a hard one, how much would you be willing to give? Im really torn on this. His prison time should be as devastating to him as his act was upon her and us. I feel the need for him to still be locked away when the day comes that she understands and starts to have to deal with what happened to her. Ive been doing a lot of reading and some talking with with other vicitims ( from some forums)and the impact its had on them as they aged and had to come to terms with it all. Its not a pretty outcome many times. They also said we may have to delay trial because of the dna retest not being back in time. This upsets me also...i want it over. Being that the trial is scheduled for June 1st.......we had planned to deal with it all and then head to ohio for much needed relaxing, unwinding and enjoy MD for the rest of the week. Motions are all due by next friday so we will be at a hearing that day at 5...and there is the motion hearing itself scheduled for the next fri at 9 I'll update you all after we meet today..have a 4:00 appt with him.
  24. I finally got around to welding up my homemade jack adaptor. I threw some pics in. It is made of 1 inch square tubing. I had to inclube the bike too! Its not a big deal, but i am proud of it. It cost me about 20 dollars at lowes, and about 2 hrs in labor.
  25. This weekend was two years since my son, wife and I took the motorcycle safety coarse and getting hooked on riding. We all started right away after buying a virago 250 to gain practice. Then I moved up to a vstar 1100 custom and my son an R6. The wife stayed with the 250 till this last xmas when I found a good deal on my 05 RSV. She now rides the 1100 or rides two up. I met up with her today at her job and we rode home, beautiful day here in Texas. I have enjoyed joining this group after I got the Venture and have learned a great deal from everyone. Looking forward to many more years of VENTURERIDERS events. Just wanted to say that learning to ride and buying my Venture and has been the best. See you down the rode. THANKS
