  1. Annie, my 2 cents.... I really don't think your friends will be able to "purchase" a pull behind because of the registration and title requirements. I don't believe foreigners can register vehicles/trailers. Maybe someone here can correct me if I'm wrong. I think the only course of action would be to rent (and that may be difficult being from out of country) or borrow from someone on this site. Good luck.
  2. Channel 29, I'll keep that in mind Riverduke. Thanks, glad you all have a nice event.
  3. Oh you could go to a Nationals game, you'd probably have the whole place to yourself
  4. Yes what Similost said! being the ages you are helps... not having to deal with 5-10 year olds, they get bored easy. Smithsonian is a good start inc. Air and Space, also Spy museum, Capitol, Lincoln and Vets memorials. Wash. Monument Arlington Nat. Cemetary. Georgetown a must for people watching and go to Sequoia Restaurant on the waterfront in Georgetown nice outside spot. On your way in or out you might want to do Gettysburg 3-4 nice campgrounds or Harpers Ferry (KOA). I could go on and on but a week just doesn't cut it. If you have a ton of $ (haha who does) there is a nice brunch cruise on the potomac but I think it's in the $100 range pp. Feel free to ask any questions.
  5. Being a lifelong area resident I'm sure I could help with ideas but it would help to know the ages of the family members.... some things you would enjoy and the kids would hate etc... Biggest word of advice - keep that 5th wheel outside the beltway, do not try to take it in DC.
  6. I cringe when I hear these stories, you just never know! Best of luck to your friend and hopefully a speedy recovery.
  7. Sorry I missed it. You all actually passed me on rt 15 just north of Frederick. A friend and I friend were just pulling on to 15 by Endless Summer RV's we had to wait for you all to pass us to pull out. We were headed to Leesburg for the Festival they had. We'll hook up with Ya'll soon.
  8. Will do Craig, in the meantime if you want info check out website rideacrossmaryland.org
  9. Is anyone participating in this event (Breast Cancer/S Komen)? If anybody is interested let me know and I can provide details. Dates are May 30 - June 1. Ride is from Columbia, Md to Ocean City, Md. This is an awesome ride of approximately 1200 bikes, and very emotional if you've had a family member stricken with this disease (in my case, my wife).
  10. I would love to do the meet and greet, but unfortunately I've had another ride planned through Leesburg/Poolesville with another group for a couple of weeks. If things fall through I'll head up to G-burg. Shoot, Shoot, Shoot, so many rides so little time!!!
  11. Hi everyone, I also just got around to posting. Happened to come across the site by doing a search for a windshield (made a deal with Marcy btw). So I've already saved the $12.00 membership fee. Riding a 2001 RSV bought used in 03 with 5800 miles on it, paid $7200. Deal of the century, Imho. Go by the name of Cruise57 because, you guessed it I love to CRUISE, but not limited to M/C's, Wife and I love cruise ships also. Looking forward to long friendships and tons of chatter from eveeryone here. Bike pics is from our annual Ride-Across-Maryland, Breast Cancer charity ride, normally 1200 bikes. Coming up end of May.....can't wait. My wife is a 3 year survivor now WooHoo. Donations are accepted through Rideacrossmaryland.org / sponsor a rider / David Shaw (I also posted in New Member area, wasn't sure where to post)
  12. I'm sure this has been covered before, but as the season gets in full swing I just wanted to remind everyone to fill out one (if not a few) of these and keep on your person and on your bike someplace. Emergency crews are also instructed to check under helmets for these. I challenge everyone to indulge me on this topic..... JUST DO IT !!! BTW there's no charge, then get them laminated.
