1. :Im not listening toI am somewhat embarrassed to ask this question but I have all you members out there that could help me with this problem. I bought the Yamaha Light covers for the running lights and the headlight. I installed the running lights with no problem. I took the bolt off of the headlight thinking that the chrome ring would come off but its refusing to come off the cowling. My question is, do I have to remove the complete front cowling to get the chrome cover off so as I can lock the visor in place?? I have a maintenance manual and it does not cover anything about removing the front chrome covering on the headlight. My owners manual also does not cover this area. Thanks in advance. Dan
2. My loving bride got me alittle safety chrome..... now I gots to install them!!
3. Anyone ever repacked their aftermarket exhausts? Specifically Bub's..., but I imagine they're all similar.. I picked up a set of Bub's from another member in the classy's. They were cheap and as described. The bodies are very nice, but the chrome tips are flaking chrome big time. They're now torn apart and sitting in the office. (see pics) [Gonna try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear here... ] The packing was gone other than a few tufts, and I'm not sure if the tufts are original material or?? I did find some universal fiberglass packing material at Cruiser Customizing that will probably work. The chromed tips look like they have corroded to the point that they will not come off the baffle flange. The tips are aluminum so I think it's probably galvanic corrosion. Any ideas on how to seperate them, or should I leave well enough alone and see if I can scrape the rest of the chrome off and polish or maybe paint??
4. I tried to order this part from Yamaha and they said that this part is no longer available. I'm needing the small black washer (wierd sharpe) that slides over the threaded portion of the chrome bar of the entire radio module. The chrome bar is what you grip in order to lift the entire radio module out of the faring. I have an 89 VR. I'm hoping that someone might have an extra radio module unit that they are using for spare parts.
5. I was at my local dealer where I bought my Venture,Honda/Yamaha of FT. Walton, to have some warranty work done. (crack in left lower faring ) I noticed they had a set of chrome breather covers for a venture hanging on their showroom wall. This is the ones that set in between the cylinders at the bottom. I think these are discontinued. I already have a set on mine. I did not see a price, but I would suspect it would be suggested retail. If I remember right, they were between $80 to $100.Any way, here is their phone # for any one that is interested.850-862-4622 or 850-863-2346.
6. I was at a long on ramp entering the freeway. A friend was directly behind me and the road ahead was clear. So I just couldn't resist and I got on it. I heard his pipes open up so I new he was on it to. When we talked later He said he was going to blow by me but it turned out he was loosing ground instead. Thing is I didn't have the throttle cranked all the way. One or two of my horses were still in the stable in reserve. His bike is an 09 Ultra Classic. He spent a considerable amount of money for a 103 stage 2 kit plus a new ignition computer, Screamin' Eagle mufflers and extra dyno time. In his defense though I have put a lot of extra chrome on my RSV. And everybody knows chrome makes them faster I just didn't realize how much until now. Mike
7. Was someone here bidding on chrome frame covers on EBAY?If you were the winning bidder i guess you needed the alot more then me:crying:
8. Question for those of you out there that have installed the Stebel Air Horn. Got mine installed today, and its a pretty tight fit. The upper left edge of the plastic "chrome" is practically touching the exhaust pipe. I realize this is the shiny cover and not the actual pipe, but it does get hot. Was wondering if any of you have had trouble with the plastic chrome melting? Also, in case you were wondering... the "SuperChrome" version of the Stebel is actually just shinier chromed plastic. Looks nice, but still not really chrome. Not exactly what I'd expect for $140. Thought I'd throw that out there for the benefit of others... Thanks in advance for your thoughts on the pipes/horn cover. Bob
9. Ponch sent me a chrome oil fittings to replace the ugly brass fittings. Thanks Ponch, looks good to me.
10. anyone from houston been to the texas cycle chrome store on northwest freeway? got any goodys for ventures
11. I have the Yamaha chrome set to cover all exposed bolt holes when the rear seat is removed but I have managed to loose the back one.....anyone know any sources where you can buy the equivalent chrome plastic push in covers individually?
12. Added the last tail light bulb so that all running and brake lights are now LEDS...Those Harley 90 degree bulbs sure are expensive. Added the chrome shift pegs and brake pedal also...Told TATERS she should feel a little safer now with the added SAFETY CHROME....
13. Yamaha since early June. Getting tired of waiting around. Anyone have one of these laying around. It's the chrome ring off an RSV right rear turn signal.
14. I might have to sell my '99 RSV. It's the purple and silver color. My photo gallery has photos of it. it's in good condition, no damage just 10+ years of riding. 89k miles, runs great. extras: chrome saddle bag rails chrome front fender rail chrome trunk rack hopnel tank bib and trunk bib chrome kuryakin highway pegs LED tail light chrome trailer hitch by hitch doctor back-off light module trailer light module 4-wire trailer lights old custom trailer included (Built by blackowl) passing lights clearview wide/tall tinted windshield with vent stock exhaust - extra set of Bubs included Purple LED accent lights DiamondR Rope light on trunk under passenger backrest custom LED light bar under trunk newer pillow tops seats and more I'm sure. I've been unemployed since mid-May and programming jobs for ColdFusion are very rare right now. Most companies are not even employing full time people right now. I've had several interviews, mostly get told I'm over qualified or they want someone with exact experience in a certain industry. I have more interviews, but I have to start thinking about selling this. $6,000 firm considering the condition, extras and trailer.
15. I am looking for a set of Chrome disk that fit on the back wheel of the 2nd generation Venture. I understand that at one time Yamaha made them does anyone know where a fellow could get there hands on some. They bolt on to each side of the wheel thourgh the holes in the bottom of the spoke on the wheel. Short-Haul said that he picked up a set on Ebay but there are none on there now. let me know if you have a set or know where to get a set.
16. I'm stripping down my RSV and removed the trunk and the stock seat looks like I stole a pillow off the couch and stuck it on the back fender... I know some of you have tried the Corbin and don't like it or your passenger don't like it and have one sitting in your garage... I don't have a lot of money but I have some items for trade if anyone is interested... I would be willing to work a deal... 2006 Yamaha Pillowtop seat... 17. I have started hearing a clicking when I depress the clutch handle on my 07 trike. Also I heard it when I let off the gas when at a slow speed. It will just click once or twice. Is this anything to worry about. It sounds like it comes from the second chrome cover on left side of motor when sitting on the bike.
18. Eased my bike down on some gravels (dropped it). Dinged the bottom edge of my right saddlebag. Do they make chrome strips for the bottom edge of saddlebags that I could use on both sides to hide the ding. I know I could have someone repair it, but the chrome might look good in my effort to make the bike look retro. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have a bag of chrome you wanted:banana:
20. Purchased a replacement windshield for my 96RS from CBaileys and realized that I need the rest of the windshield , chrome trim and acrylic piece that adjusts down to headlight.
21. I installed a Chrome Glow LED light Bar and it looks great and the brake light is great. My problem is the turn signals are only about half brightness. I checked the voltage on the turn signal wiring and only about 6 volts is coming through. Does anyone know why I would have only 6 volts to the turn signals? I checked it all the way back to the harness just behind the battery. Is there only supposed to be 6 volts to the turn signals and if so how to I get 12 volts to the turn signal wires on the Array?
22. I was googling something else and came accross this article. I don't know anything about AIS, but with everyone talking about the RSV chirping, I thought this might be interesting... AIS, What's chirping? Written by StarMyram, on 06-22-2006 19:16 I used to have an 04 V-Star 650 Classic and it made a funny noise while coasting on highway and cruising in town at low rpm. Just got a brand new 05 Roadstar Silverado ...Ya know, this bike is beautiful, torquey, and a nice low "bump, bump, bump" exhaust tone at low rpm. But for crying out loud, WHAT is this annoying chirpy sound?! This bike has it even worse than the V-star! Well, the other night I was fumbling around the running engine with my fingers and eneded up with my finger in the air intake tube hanging down off the AIS pump. The chirping stopped! HA! Found thee source of the noise! Did some research as to where these little pipes went to and fro on the AIS. I decided I could do without the peice of crap on my bike. (don't tell Kyoto! ) I got out my tools and removed the AIS pump and it's filter and all the brackets. Removed the vaccuum pulse line from the intake manifold and put a cap on the tee. I left the chrome tubes attatched to the heads, I used the one left over hose (pushed a 1" long wooden dowel into the hose to seal it off to avoid exhaust gas travelling from one cylinder port to the other through the chrome lines and burning up the hose) and installed the hose to each chrome line. After admiring the new clean, uncluttered look of the front of the engine without AIS, I started the engine and admired the clean V-twin engine sound, with a nice clean exhaust tone with no "fluffing" from the tailpipes (the way it should be.) I took the bike for a ride and Voila! No more chirping sound! Yeah Baby! I understand Californians have emmission laws and lots more tubing on the bikes for charcoal canisters and such so I don't know about thse bikes. Removal of the AIS system is not necessary for performance gains since the AIS does not rob power or performance. But it's just plain ugly to look at, and it annoyed me to no end because of the crappy sound it adds to the engine. Here in Alberta, I can get rid of it without some emmissions police hassling me too. I plan to make steel plates to cover the ports in the heads and remove the chrome tubes completely when I get time this coming winter.
23. Hi Guys, how are you all. I went on holiday camping over here in the UK, while i was packing to come home i closed my pannier boxes and boot lid on my RSV and guess what i locked my keys inside, even worse was i didn't know which box i locked them in. I had no tools as they were locked in box so i was knackered. I called our national breakdown service and after waiting 4 hours ( because England were playing ) they could not help me. So another 2 hours passed and we were relayed with bike home about 3am. I managed to pick the locks with a pair of manicure scissors ( not mine by the way ) but i had to remove the thin chrome covers. ( see photos ) Then i took the helmet locks to pieces and removed there chrome covers and put them on the pannier locks. What i am looking for now if possible is anyone who has 2 helmet locks so i can get the chrome covers off them,( you cannot dismantle the pannier locks to get chrome covers of but you can fit them on ). Reason is they look crap without the covers and i still want to use the same key all round bike. If you can help i will pay for items and postage to UK. What a plonker thanks guys Dave ( UK )
24. I am trying to install the two moles on top and bottom of the front chrome windshield trim. Has anyone come up with a good adhesive to hold these in place?
25. Does anyone know what chrome (plastic/ABS?) fender tips would fit my '83 Venture front fender? What more current bike model fender would be comparable in size, curvature, etc.? I need to cover up some paint damage near the tip from a recent paint exchange with a girl's car (I wished she would have looked, & I was more careful that time). Thanks, Doug
