  1. The Beatles at the Mirage is a great show.
  2. I've got a Road Glide Ultra and the insurance is $520 a year with Allstate. I paid $360 a year for my RSV and Roadstar on the same policy.
  3. Maybe they're Snowbirds.
  4. On the RGU I'm averaging about 35 mpg and it uses HiTest. The RSV I was averaging 38-40 mpg and was using Regular. Hope to get better mileage on the RGU after the break-in period. As I said the bike fits me better, I'm 5'8" and the RSV was just too top heavy as was the Gold Wing I tested. For me I feel more confident on the RGU, especially with the wife on the back.
  5. I have to second BJ66 recommendation. Roadglide.org is an excellent site.
  6. I have a Road Glide Ultra, just turned 1000 miles. As much as I love my Venture, the Road Glide fits me much better. The fixed fairing is great, the dash is further out and easier to read. Plenty of power, brought it up to 85 in sixth, slowed down to 65 in sixth then back up to 85 without downshifting – no problem. Easy to handle in parking lot, I almost tipped it, but because of the low center of gravity I was able to save it – the Venture definitely would have been on the ground. No whine! Great sound system.

  8. Nice comparison, RentalGuy. I just went from a 2001 RSV to a 2011 Road Glide Ultra. You had a fixed fairing on your First Gen. Did you try the Road Glide? I only have 400 miles on the HD. I'm 5'8" 175 lbs. Compared to the RSV... HD much easier to handle in low speeds, I can flat foot, love the sound system, CD PLAYER, iPod integrated into the radio controls, the fixed fairing cuts through the wind, its great to have gauges, abs brakes, fuel injected, NO WHINE, security system and the parts and accessory book is thicker than our local yellow pages book. The RSV is so much smoother on the highway, loved the V4 hated THE WHINE, much more room for my wife. Just couldn't wait for a newly designed RSV. I wanted a bike that had the comfort and features of my venture but fit me more like my Road Star.
  9. Yes, loosen the headlight ring slightly and place the lip of the visor between the glass and ring.
  10. I have an '01 RSV and a '04 Road Star. Just put a deposit on a new Road Glide Ultra.
  11. Thanks for the replies, I knew the heading would get a quick response. BTW I raised the pressure to 40 psi and the bouncing is a lot less noticeable.
  12. After 55,000 miles I finally blew my rear shock. Question, is it safe to ride 2-up? We have a ride planned Labor Day weekend, I'm 180 lbs and my wife is 155 lbs.
  13. You can buy a new one from Sports Plaza for $418.28 painted. http://www.ysppart.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/2/Yamaha.aspx
  14. I've put about 1500 miles since adding the Motorkote. I had gotten used to the whine, and it stopped annoying me, after I added the Motorkote I started listening for the whine, now its annoying again.
  15. Everyone says throw a can of Seafoam in your tank. Is a full can too much in a 6 gallon tank?
