looks like a big turnout for the st. charles, mo. rally, may 7th thru 9th. still got plenty of room. looks like this is going to be the biggest ever. i have a great one planned this year. we have people coming from all over the usa, and maybe gary n from canada, who was here last year. for all of you who want to kick off the riding season with a bang , don't miss this one. check it out in the sticky under meet and eats. all the motels and details are there. looking forward to seeing alot of old friends and new faces. bill

Hey All: I went to have my annual inspection weekend before last and unlike last year I hung around till it was done. When they said its ready...I asked...Did you check everything...YES...They said...Everything good until next year?..YES...They said...Did you take the rear saddlebag off to check the rear pads...NO..They said....Why:confused24:..not....I said...WE use a mirror...OK...I said.... NOTE: Last year I left it to have the new WWW's put on along with the inspection.....and came back later in the week.... I came home last weekend...Pulled the Saddlebag....Pulled the Rear Pads....See what I found below with my pixs...Just finished put on EBC FA123HH sintered pads....I posted the pixs for two reasons; 1. to show how the pads can wear unevenly.....Really a design flaw I think...and 2. I've been working on a one man trailer for safely loading your bike. It'll take two smaller bikes or one large touring bike. I've only got one wheel chock built right now and I really don't need a second. Check out the pix and let me know what you think. Checked battery voltage and it showed 12.47volts--tried to start but no go--then held start switch on and it started finally. Went for about 100klm ride and had no problems so will go to work and check with battery place after work to make sure battery is ok. If not will have to buy new one.

Are there any members in Las Cruces that can check out a 2000 Venture for me? I am ready to move on this bike but would prefer an opinion from one of the members who can check it out first hand. I have been told by a long time member of this group that fellow guys and ladies can be trusted for their experience and willingness to help. I am ready to buy this bike and start riding with the group. I will figure out how to get it back to Corpus Christi, Texas once I determine this is the bike for me. I need help finding a maxxis 150/90-15 WWW. It seems that they quit making them and can find the front, but not a rear in WWW. If you know of another WIDE WWW, I'd for sure check them out. I know that I can get Dunlop 404 WWW but they aren't as wide, and I want a WIDE-WWW. If I have to, I'll get the dunlops. Thanks, Steve

I love my bike and just got it to where I wanted it but like I put in the description, my wife is pregnant and I can't afford the bike payment and a new baby and I just tore a tendon that holds part of the quadracept to the knee cap so I will not be able to walk for 6-9 months, let alone ride. I am throwing everything in, I will not be buying a new bike for a while so I see no reason to keep anything I have now and I don't feel like selling everything seperatly. So if you're looking for a great bike or know anyone who is please check it out. Any questions please let me know.

Ahhhh what to do ? ? After much thought, I'm staying in Gold Stocks until the maddness washes out. I paid off my " Last Bill " last week, first time in 50 years I don't owe anybody a Penny !!! I wrote that last check, and I have never felt so good in my entire life!!! ( Yes, the house is paid for too, whatever its still worth, I'm afraid to check on that ) Three Cheers for " Rick Santellie " !!!

My 83's previous owner had run a switch to the headlight. In working through some electrical issues I decide to tackle the headlight. I have low beam but when I use the switch for High beam nothing, no light or indicator light. What I have done so far: All connections have been taken apart and cleaned with contact cleaner making sure they are tight. Solder cold joints on CMS (this got the low beam working) and CLASS. Gave the handle bar switch for high beam a shot of cleaner but did not take it apart. Looking at the wiring diagram and reading in the service manual it is looking like I need to check the reserve lighting unit - if I just knew where it was and what I looks like. CMS show no fault codes now so I'm getting closer. Anyone have a clue as to what to check next. The information here on the website has been wonderful in bringing this ride back to life. Engine just quit. Was running fine and then just died. Pushed it for a bit and tried to start it again, it finally started. Runs OK for now, but looking for any thing to check before it does it again. Thanks

a venture royal, a harley, and a v-star 1300. talk about looking like three misfits. we did have a great ride even though we were all riding those weird bikes. tried to get dan to check out our site but he does'nt have a computer. he did have a beautiful heritage softtail classic. anyway we did get to mellow out some of the cabin fever.

Love this site and this is my first post. I just bought a 2001 RSV, and there was no tool kit which came with it. I tried my digital air pressure guage to check, but it wouldn't even go on the valve stem. My air hose inflater/deflater went on, but showed 0psi. I'm not sure it opened the Schrader valve. Any thoughts?

This is just a heads up for anyone needing to renew or add any endorsements their driver’s license. The wife went into the GA DDS (DMV) to take her motorcycle permit test. She passed with flying colors. Great, right! Well, when they went to add the endorsement to her license, something popped up on the computer. NY had placed a hold on her license! They not only said they couldn’t add the endorsement but that her GA license would be suspended until she got the hold removed by NY State! Here’s the kicker, we haven’t lived in NY since 1981 and she never had a driver’s license there, only a permit and never had any tickets or violations! After wading through the bureaucracy we found out the hold was for an “unsatisfied judgment” from an accident in 1978. Apparently we were sued for an accident we were in and never received the summons to court since we moved several times during those years. It’s been a month since this happened and we’re still trying to get this straightened out from 1,000 miles away. Meanwhile the wife is stranded with no license out in the middle of nowhere (we live in the country). I guess I don’t have to tell you how that is going over! In light of her problems, I decided to check with NY and see what they had on me. Lo and behold the have a hold placed on me also for the same issue as my wife. They also have me down for “failure to answer a summons" for a speeding ticket in Livingston Co. NY in 1981. When I checked with them, they had to dig through some old boxes and found the ticket 68 mph in a 55 mph zone. The hell of it is is that I went to court as scheduled and paid the ticket so someone either didn’t do their job or the pocketed the money! I can either plead innocent and travel 1,000 miles for trial or fax in a guilty plea and pay the fine. Guess which one I chose! Who knows how long this will take to get straightened out. The only good thing is that my wife doesn’t work so we aren’t suffering financially from this. We both renewed our DL’s two years ago so I know this data sharing between NY and GA is something new. My assumption is that it is probably something to do with Homeland Security and the push for a national driver’s license and ID. My advice is that if anyone may have similar issues, to check it out before time to renew your license so you have time to straighten it out before your suspended and possibly lose your livelihood. Also, check it out with the state you USED TO live in like I did. If you check it with your current issuing state and they find something you’ll be in the same boat as my wife. Sorry about the book but this can’t be explained in one paragraph.-Jack
