  1. My first wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to WallyWorld. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate she, like most women, loves to browse. Near the end of this first marriage, my dear wife received the following letter from the local WallyWorld . . . Dear Mrs. Jones, Over the past six months, Gary has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your husband are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras: 1.. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people's carts when they weren't looking. 2.. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals. 3.. July 7: He made a trail from a jar of brown gravy on the floor leading to the both the lady’s and men’s restrooms. 4.. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away’. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing the company money. 5.. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&Ms on layaway. 6.. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area. 7.. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department to which twenty children obliged. 8.. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' EMTs were called. 9... September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose. 10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were. 11. October 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the ' Mission Impossible' theme. 12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna look' by using different sizes of funnels. 13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!' 14. October 21: When an announcement came over the loudspeaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!' And last, but not least: 15. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here.' One of the clerks passed out.
  2. I was out for a ride this afternoon and my wife calls and asks me to pick up a powerball ticket for tonights drawing. So I stop in a Shell market about 15 miles from home to take a break and pick up the tickets. When I got back out to the bike I noticd my helmet dangling from the handle bars by the headset cord. I thought that was odd because the it was always secure hooked over the mirror. While I walked around the bike while finishing my Pepsi I noticed a turn signal lens on the ground about 4 feet behind the bike. It looked like mine, it was mine. Crap, someone hit me while I was in the store. I was parked out beyond the pump islands away from everyone. Upon further examination I found my fender dented, the chrome saddle bag rail bent, the trunk cracked and scratched and I was pissed. I called the police to file a report and it turned out the store had security cameras that recoreded the event. However, the resolution was too poor to identify the vehicle or driver. The driver of a white extended cab pickup was parked about 30 feet from me. He backed up and his hitch ball took out my turn signal and dented the fender and his bumper hit the trunk. I watched in the video as he pushed the bike back about 4 feet and luckily it didn't fall over and stayed on the sidestand. The video showed the guy get out and look behind the truck and then get back in. I guess he was contemplating his next move because it took him a minute and a half to decide to get out and come in the store. It appeared he came in just to see if anyone seemed to have noticed him hit the bike. When no one seemed to have noticed he returned to his truck and drove off. All the while I am standing in the store talking to friendly guy that just walked up and asked about Ventures. This all happened in about 3 minutes. The trooper took the report and a copy of the video but it is doubtful anything will come of it. I guess I get to talk to my insurance company Monday. It looks like replacment parts are going to run about $1300. Maybe it's time for a new bike. I'm tempted. With my luck today I don't expect much from those lottery tickets. Dennis
  3. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00950190000P Now I have only always bought snap on, but snap on does NOT offer a motorcycle jack. I have a local sears and can order online, pick up at store. This one look OK????
  4. Has anyone in Michigan bought a Harbor Freight Tag along trailer #66771 from the store and not online? Today I got a 25% off coupon for today only. If I order it online i have to pay an extra $89 shipping. I called the store near me and they told me that the only way to get it is to order it on line because they don't have it in the store. ps HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
  5. Things to do if your wife insists you go shopping with her. After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse. 6. well the bike is put away for the winter. and i went out today to find some seafoam to put in for the winter. i been every where from napa to o,rileys none on the shelves. but napa said they had a sister store 40 miles up the road and thay have a case of it. i then asked if they could have them send down a few cans? only need one but thought i would be nice and get 2 just for the hassle of them sending them to this store. the man said no but if you order the whole case we can do it? 12 cans at $8.50 per can? i politely left mubbling under my breath.. so question is? any other additive i can add? i once tried stabil in a motorcyle once and my carbs gummed up. STP any good? or just add carb cleaned to the tank? and let sit? i will not do anything till i figure it out. also since i now clean the storage office on weekends. yep got a little part time job. i clean and get free storage. and around 30 bucks for gas. thats my pay. so i thought hey would it hurt the bike to start it every weekend and just let it warm up for 15 or so minutes? then shut it down? this should keep the carbs in good working order. but still have some aditive in the tank..
  7. i went out to get a few things at the local grocery store. i had on a hoody sweatshirt. with the hood up . as i was walking down the isle a clerk came up and said sir you have to remove your hood? i said why? she said so the camera can see your face while in the store? and it frightens the staff. well i said ok i understand that but before i do this. do you know what frightens me about this store? she said no what? i said the damn prices. well that made her day.. and she gave me a free 20 ounce bottle of coke... but realy whats this world comming too when teens cash register kids are scared of a old man with a hoody on??
  8. Yes I did. Now I'm not one to judge anyone on their looks BUT this was funny. I went into a gas station party store and in line was this guy, I'd say late 20's all dressed up in bike leather, patches all over, chains, piercings everywhere, attitude and looking like a 1%er without the colors. Well he left and I made my purchase and got in the van and headed down the road. Up ahead I see the cars slowing down then moving to the left lane to go around someone going slow. I get up there and here's this guy from the store riding a chopper MINI BIKE. The brigs and straton 5hp type. All racked out in the front, sissy bar and the tiny mini bike tires, riding along like he's the baddest biker ever to ride. Laughed so hard I almost rear ended the car in front of me at the light. Had his feet out on highway pegs but his knees was almost in his chin. If you would of seen him and his attitude in the store you would NEVER of guessed what he was riding. Still laughing just thinking about it.
  9. Well it started out with me going to my eye appointment. Had a check up after the laser surgery this spring for the glaucoma. Seems all is ok, even got pics of my optic nerve. Wish they hadn't dilated my eyes I might have been able to see the pics. Just a little thinning, but then we went to the grocery store in Elizabeth City. (this is the town next county up) Jeff paid I went to check on something while he was doing that. Found out on our way out of the store they gave him a senior discount. I found this very funny, see I'm older then he is. He's only 46 but all that gray hair and beard must make him look older, or he lied to me way back when we got married and he's really way older then I thought. Just thought some of ya might get a good chuckle out of that part. Margaret
  10. Hi folks, this will be my first winter with my '85 VR and I don't have a garage to store her in. I do have a carport and would like to by a good cover. Any suggestions?
  11. These folks have a ton of 2nd Gen Parts on there right now. Check their entire store. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-1300-XVZ1300-HANDLEBAR-RISERS-/200512289941?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories
  12. I wanted to share with the members a product I purchased yesterday at a thrift store. While wandering around a thrift store yesterday I came across a table of cleaning products called "LA Totally Awesome". A bottle of the stuff was only a $1.25 so I thought what the heck and bought one. This morning I washed the shower doors with the stuff and it did an okay job so I thought I would try it on "Old Blue" my 96 RSTC. I started with the front tire whitewalls and I couldn't believe it. I sprayed the stuff on and the dirt and grime just ran off. I have found very few products that clean whitewalls to my satisfaction and with this stuff they came out perfect with no elbow grease. I then went to the back tires that were very dirty with grease, grime and exhaust carbon. I sprayed it on and used a toothbrush to lightly scrub. The tires looked like new in minutes. I then continued to wash the entire bike with the stuff and I have never seen it shine like it does now. I am talking showroom.. All for less then a $1.25. If you guys ever see this stuff give it a try. I am going back to the thrift store tomorrow and buying all they have left.
  13. Ive had my 83 Venture Royale for 6 wks or so. Today after sitting for maybe 5 days, I started out for a ride, it died at 20 mph. It would start in neutral but would die as soon as I put it in 1st. After scratching my head for awhile I tried again and it seemed OK. I rode for an hr. or so, and stopped at the store. When I went to leave the same thing happened. This time I started out in 2nd, and when I got home it seemed to be fine. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Has anyone tried this, and what makes it different from regular gasoline? According to what I am reading it doesnt get stale and its legal to store in your vehicle, so what makes it different? Other than the highly inflated price? http://sparefuel.net/ Brian
  15. Just looking at the items listed in the VR Store, was wondering what is still available and what has gone by the way side. Really need a new VR cap.
  16. Just wondering how you were doing; what week did you head out to make it to MD. was just wondering if you are bringing the Harley if you left in time to keep putting all the parts back on: you know a day of riding and then two days to get it running again. also knowing HD riders only ride from Bar to Bar or Party store to party store and have to take a break so people can see them standing out side by there bikes. WOW! its going to take you longer than i first thought to get there; i best get out the calculator and refigure it for ya:think: see ya there Dray:smile5:
  17. I'm looking for a good store to check out helmets--anyone know of one that has lots of options?
  18. Coming thru Juaquin Texas today, I passed by an old run down building with an old black and yellow yamaha sign. So, I stopped and was amazed! In the window was what looked like a new 80 something yamaha 1100 midnite edition inline 4 with about a 1/8" of dust. in the front room of this old store, I saw atleast 15-20 motors from Decati's, yamaha's, indian's, etc. Some looked new, some used. I walked next door and man said I was the 3rd one today to ask bout the store. Unfortunately for me the owner was in Austin. The neighbor store said he had a ton of motorcycles, some still in the crate. He used to be a yamaha dealer back when. In short it was like looking thru a time window and from what I saw it was so cool. I plan on going back later this week or next and see if he'll give the tour and for those 1st generation guys I'll keep my eyes pealed. And I'll take a my camera:)
  19. For anyone in/near New Hamburg, ONT. Just wanted to let y'all know that a new ice cream store has opened up. It's called Swirlz. Located at 385 Waterloo, New Hamburg, Ontario. Now for the sake of disclosure... the store is owned by my sister and brother-in-law. But don't let that stop you from swinging by. It's a new venture for them, and if it goes, I figure I will be able to sponge off them in my old age. If anyone stops in, tell them I said hi.
  20. All- I recently bought a 1987 Venture Royale which I'm getting the Carbs completely cleaned and rebuilt by one of my VMAX buddies. While I have everything off, I'm replacing the plugs, fuel filter, air filter and the fuel lines. Can anyone tell me what size the fuel lines are? I'm going to look at an auto parts store first. Has anyone had any luck doing that? Bill Hampton, IL
  21. So I got my new speedo cable installed and started re-installing the panel , 'xcept one of the rubber bushing is gone:confused07:, it was there when I pulled it out though. Pulled the whole dash, removed the headlight, dug around through the wiring, looked on the floor, tried shaking the bike (yeah right!). Used a flashlight to see better. I have no clue:think::think: guess i'll see if i can get anew one at the parts store, bummer!
  22. The screws holding on the Audio Control Head vibrated out. It's kind of hard to carry the Control Head into the parts store so, does anyone know off hand what size these are? Thanks, Mark
  23. Did I see somewhere on here that Wal mart sells Ride On tire sealant? Or is there any local type store that sells them?
  24. I have been a nurse in a school district for 18 years. Every year when it gets to be the week before school starts up again, I am afraid I get a bit down. I know I am spoiled, I get more time off than other nursing jobs. I admit I am spoiled. So tonight I was shopping with Ron and I spotted a little girl in the store, who I know goes to the school where I worked. Her eyes lit up and she ran over to give me a hug. I think it was God's way of making me remember why I work where I do. Silly me. Yama Mama
  25. I was about to put this old ironing board in the trash when the light came on ! Works perfect for an adjustable height work table. easy to move around and store. Oh ya I did replace the one in the house.... Keith
