well the way i look at it alot of us use the site more than don does, and don does all the work and has all the head aches. if a mandatory fee would make dons job easier count me in. i'm sure the ones that enjoy the site as i do would be willing. the ones that aren't willing well i'm not going to say anything and put my foot in my mouth.,but ya got the idea. bill

thought about triking my rstd, but just can't seem to get into it. don't get me wrong , i'm not knocking a trike if it wets ones whistle, but it just don't seem to be a motorcycle anymore. i even checked out various kits and tried to get hopped up on the idea, but with out the two wheel feel it just ain't a bike. my legs are so bad i figure when i can't find a regular bike i can handle, like my vstar 1300, i will move on to my second love, model trains. bill

tried to post here yesterday but it would'nt work. take that r6 for a ride. whole new experience. 0 to 60 in 3.3 sec., 107 rear wheel hp. 15500 red line. hang on when it hits 10,000 rpm, all hell breaks loose. not to many bikes will take it from stop light to stoplight. not even my zx14 or a busa. you and the bike become one real quick. it is an over confidence builder in the twisties. i loved mine. legs just would'nd handle the high foot peg location very long. if you can drag the pegs you are one heck of a rider, mostly when hanging off in a curve. the 08 is even better.added more lowend torque. bill ps did i mention top speed about 165 ,what a rush.

just got back from litchfield. it was almost the ride from hell both ways. as bad of wind as i ever rode in, a little rain, and slightly cool, thought sure it looked like snow. saw one of my favorite venture riders there, roadkill. did have a good time when i got there. any one who did'nt make it, was alot smarter than me, lots of bikes, several hundred. i got hung up on this awesome goldwing that was loaded with all the bells and whistles. burgandy 2008,the sales men were all busy all day so i could'nt do any dealing. could'nt even get a price. i figure at least $23,000. fell in love with it as soon as i walked in the door. thought what a surprise that would be for my wife. figured i could leave my v-star there and drive back tomorrow and pick it up. spent a good hour and a half trying to get a price, no such luck. so i think while i'm waiting maybe i ought to sit on one just for the heck of it to see if it fits. guess what major disappointment very cramped for space. handle bars to close. no leg room, just did'nt have the best ergonomics. so i climbed on my vstar and headed for home in the wind ,$23,000 + dollars better off. good thing because my wife went to the mall and spent all my extra money for this week. fancy that. bill:2133:

group riding or not. i don't like having my space violated. be it a car or a motorcycle. don't like anyone passing me in my lane ,don't like tailgators, just stay out of my section of road and we'll get along fine, and i'll respect your section of road.

this sounds like a plan. i don't think there is any discrimination it sounds like your breaking the law. if you don't have a valid handicap plate you will have to get one. or change the law.i have a handicap plate on my majesty scooter for my wife but not on my other bikes because her name is not on the registration. so we take the scooter to park legally. we also have a placard in our truck but it is registered to the truck so we can not legally use it on the motorcycles. if i park my bike with the car placard on it i expect to get a ticket because i am doing something illegal and i would have no complaint. so i don't do it. bill

i pretty much follow the regular traffic laws. i figure i have as much space doled to me as a car and i take it all. centerline to shoulder and at least a couple of car lengths in front of me. don't even like to ride two abreast in one lane. that is what wanna be bikers do and it really po's me when some one tries to come along side me at a stoplight. so i stop as close to the middle as i can with out getting into the anti freeze and oil.

'Supersport' motorcyclists have highest death rate
Snarley Bill replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
gee guys, how come we are always on the subject of motorcycle accidents and deaths. kind of ruins the fun of riding. we don't talk about getting killed in our cars. i got better things to do on my bike then worrying about getting killed on it. have fun on them bikes and drive safely. thats what i do and think about the enjoyment of owning and riding a bike. it's alot more fun riding one if your not thinking about dying all the time. if ya think about the up side of things it makes life alot more fun. -
:2133:is anyone in the st. charles area going to litchfield, ill. next saturday, that wants to ride up with me give me a holler. i am leaving sat. morning. bill
